    oh, well.
    this seems a pretty good offer. a well sized flyer gmt with decent finish, way below 1k is the perfect travel companion. it is simply impossible to travel with peace of mind when you have anything over 3k at your wrist nowadays. yes, insurances, but i don't want to find myself at the wrong end of a gun anyway.
    i'll probably pull the trigger on this.
    my only observation is that given the flyer movement and the rotating bezel, not having fixed 24h markings on the minutes ring is a missed opportunity.
    but anyway...

  • @KC-bv9kf
    @KC-bv9kf Год назад +1

    To be accurate, the reference to “true” GMT has to do with history. Pilots used GMT (or Zulu) as a universal reference point so they can calibrate and communicate regardless where they are.
    Now GMT is basically any watches that have additional capability to keep a second time zone, caller or traveler.

    • @mracekproductions
      @mracekproductions  Год назад +6

      Yes. Thanks. I’m a pilot as a day job so I’m well aware of the references but it seems the watch industry / internet as a whole mis-use many terms. A lot of “influencers” use the term “true gmt” to describe a traveller style watch. Ie the ability to independently adjust the hour hand without disrupting time keeping.

    • @KC-bv9kf
      @KC-bv9kf Год назад

      Now that lends a whole different perspective of your reviews because contexts matter.
      Precision is nonnegotiable when you are responsible for so many lives.

    My only issue: I am not digging any of the color schemes. This Green tone is ugly. All others are fine but there seems to be something missing. Black needed a bit more color on the 24hr numbers perhaps (see Monta), the white is the only one where the 24hr ring has a dif color, it is fine, but muted. The blue is also a bit muted with just one color all over, would love to see that one with a contrasting 24hr ring color, perhaps black or dark grey.

    Picked up the original Venturer last year when they dropped and I have to say they’re amazing but there are problems. The bracelet, the hardness coating and the finishing are unmatched for the price .The subtle details they add to the watch like the perlage finish on the clasp and the dial choices are amazing but they all have had issues.
    Both my commuter and the Venturer I bought have had misaligned 12 o’clock markers and the inner rotating bezel on the Venturer had a deep scratch on it. Very disappointing for a $600 watch. Not only that but the dimensions are very off. On both the commuter and the Venturer they are advertised as a 36.5 and 38.5 mm watches but they both wear 2mm bigger due to the very large dials.
    I’ll have to pass on future Traska watches unless they fix these issues but either way it’s an EXCELLENT value proposition for something looking to buy a watch.
