  • 2022 was a huge year for GMT watches with the release of the Tudor Black Bay Pro, the Seiko SSK GMT, and the 4R34 movement inside of the Seiko. But Citizen, through their movement division, Miyota, relatively quietly released a brand new gmt movement as well. The only difference is that the Miyota 9075 was an aggressively priced flyer gmt. This was huge news and this incredibly important movement found its way into a great looking watch. The Traska Venturer GMT.
    So in this video I’m going to go over all the different aspects of this watch and what this watch is like on the wrist after owning it for over 2 months. And I will of course be looking into how this awesome new Miyota 9075 movement performed and felt when interacting with it. In short, this is an awesome watch and we have a very exciting future ahead of us as more watches in different prices points begin to use the Miyota 9075.
    THIS TRASKA VENTURER GMT IS FOR SALE- If you’re interested, send me an email to thewatchidiot@gmail.com with your shipping zip code so that I can get a shipping quote. The Venturer GMT is sold out but I’m still keeping the price at the msrp of $695 + shipping.

    Fine vid! I have been looking at Traska but not for a GMT. That’s because by some miracle the stars aligned and I got the Zelos Mako lll GMT rocking the 9075! And the one I got was the blue meteorite dial….the most expensive at $629.00 USD. One word on that watch……..WOW! The only other micro brand using the Miyota 9075 is the Jack Mason out of Texas. It runs a hair under $1K. The Zelos and the Jack Mason both come with bracelets. My Zelos came with an Oyster with an amazing on the fly adjust and the Jack Mason comes with a Jubilee. Thanks for the info and super vid! .

    Had the original Venturer and the quality was unmatched, it was the best bracelet I’ve ever worn. Although, the 38.5mm diameter is a bit deceiving in my opinion, it wears closers to a 40 due to the large dial and inner rotating bezel.

    I’m pretty sure you can’t put a flat sapphire crystal on this without raising the height of the bezel dramatically to accommodate the stack of 4 hands. I think a taller bezel and/or mid-case would make this case appear a bit too chunky, IMO.
    Overall, I think they nailed the idea of an everyday GADA GMT watch that isn’t inspired (inexplicably) by dive watches.
    My main criticism: while the date is fine at 6, but I wish it was lumed so there’s not such a black hole at the bottom the dial when the lights are out. It’s a small thing. Otherwise, a great watch.

  • @anthonystevens8683
    @anthonystevens8683 Год назад

    At this price point if you want a decent mechanical GMT this has to be worth a look. The Myota (or other GMT movements for that matter) would not put me off having a look at this watch. I do like the internal 24 hour bezel adjustment as well. That date at 6 is where it should be if you need a date complication in my humble opinion and the general design looks good. If I didn't have the BB Pro I'd certainly want to audition this watch but that BB Pro is awesome in its execution. As always many thanks for sharing TWI.

    • @KC-bv9kf
      @KC-bv9kf Год назад

      I would still seriously consider this watch because if you travel anywhere outside the US or even in many part of US, the BB Pro is not worth the attention.
      I can’t travel with my b/b11670 for the last 7-8 years because of the unwanted attentions, and that sucker has been to parts of the world where I had to use it to barter out of a few uh…misunderstandings. Now they would have just shot me for what that tool watch goes on secondary market, lol. One note on Rolex though, it still runs +2-3 s/d after 22 y.
      Anyway, it doesn’t hurt to hand over a $700 watch that can handle some contacts, unless they know how much it really costs.

    I owned one of these in the new bottle green. Not a fan for the price. You can get a better watch for the same price. I liked the look and the tech in the bracelet but that’s where my likes ended. They could have done a better job for the price. For instance the rotating internal bezel could have had some more pronounced clicks. It felt like it was trying to be smooth but there was some very mild clicks around the hours.
    Worst part about the particular watch I received in the instantly sold beer bottle green face was that most of the indices weren’t lined up at all. Part of me feels like I was sent this particular watch by the choice of Traska because of where I live and they hoped I wouldn’t return it….. I have trust issues I get it.
    All in all very disappointed. I hope Traska does better in the future, but I’ll never waist my time buying their products again.
