I started Starlink two weeks ago and decided to take the chance of a refurbished unit. Like you said, I saved two hundred dollars and very happy with my service. My last service was horrible getting 20 Mbps Download and 2 Mbps Unload if I was lucky. Now I'm getting 5 times the speed during the peak evening hours (6pm-11pm) but over 10 times my previous speed the rest of the day. I'm very happy with my Starlink. I'm now trying to decide how to make expand my signal in around my home both beneficially and financially.

The Starlink monthly service price for residential customers is changing as follows:
$30 decrease in areas with excess capacity. New price will be $90/mo.
$30 increase in areas with limited capacity. New price will be $120/mo.
So much for a lowering prices here in rural Maine! We were at $90 now going back up to $120.

After experiencing the maui fire and loss of land based internet for almost a month. I will stick with satellite based internet. Plus my Nevada and Hawaii based land based internet also going down for maintenance especially during storms. Much better off with satellite. 150mps is plenty fast for most households. My land based internet similar price. Competitors have all these first year low pricing, but then they go up the following years. Everyone has these teaser rates.

Just think every 1 million equals 1 billion in sales , internet is just the start , cell phone service will be the big one can you imagine 1 billion cell phone users? Just wait till he starts buying up cable companies at a discount.

Not necessarily $1B in sales. Not all locations are getting screwed at $120 like US residents. But then again….commercial, marine, and aviation accounts could make up the difference in lower costs for other countries.

Sooo, remind me. How often does weather negatively impact service for Starlink? You have AT&T for back-up, don't you? If I work remotely and can't afford to lose my internet, would I actually need a second provider just in case? Or have a way of creating a hot spot via my phone provider? Or what?

I use T-Mobile as backup and it only play a factor when is pouring outside.

I probably will not see 5G in my area since there are no new towers being built or planned in the area to have the capacity to support new 5G customers.

WHAT advice you can give ?I bought a starlink unit from ebay but the seller scam me by saying the dish is new but it already assigned, I text the seller but they are not replying..starlink say the can't do anything to help me😢.

Sadly. You’re stuck trying to get the seller to reassign to you. Or you can report to eBay.

5G towers have reduced range over older versions and particularly old analog. AT&T strategy will force more to go to Starlink.

Do you need the latest and greatest iPhone version or iPad version no! Even Apple has stated keep your units longer. Do you need to constantly upgrade to new versions, no. Software updates keep you new until the older hardware unable. Using Apple again, they support upgrades for 10 years I believe. Musk has stated Tesla cars can constantly be upgraded to a point, then it’s a hardware issue and expansion issue. I am happy with version 2 Starlink. My router is even outside but in a box on the side of the house. Less clutter in the house.

I added an eero router later on. It seems even faster. The Starlink router is great but lots of eero experience past several years.

With the increase in people, will we see a decrease in speed due to congestion? Or is there enough for everyone to go around?

I hope what he saying but I think they getting to there limits on the number of people that going to get it. The only way they getting more business is for the new small dishes for people that used them to go into the woods.. just like he’s orther business they are losing money and have to lower their price and cutting there people that work there.

Price reductions are too late. Just got fiber availability with higher speeds and lower latency at about half the price. Bye bye Starlink

RUclips shorts would be good for that attention span also if you don’t want to use a CCP controlled app.
