I owned a minor pro hockey team in Belton, TX when that Shuttle came crashing down literally in our backyards (plural for the following reason ~ we're all part of the 100+-mile-long debris field) (and only share my occupation to verify WHY ANY ONE would ever live in Belton, TX! And it lines up exactly with the crash date as our season finale had just wrapped when this disaster hit) But I digress... All that said my lucky neighbor heard a thud off his roof then a splash and found an "unused" (thank goodness!) shutlle helmet in a bag in his pool! Missed my back yard by 3 ft and he sold it online for over 20million. Needless to say we're no longer neighbors as "they're moving on up to the east side"... As for us; we found 2 heat shields bits as well but only inches big... Sigh. I know it's not as cool as an actual helmet (pool and bag it was in saved it ~ though still "crispy") and yeah NASA did want it back but since it wasn't in use at the time he fought them and won using the old 9/10ths rule. (I didn't know that was real!) Plus it was a long time after by the time NASA heard about it. I heard one guy who kinda nerds out on NASA excess inventory auctions of ancient pointless gear they sell off every few years just to clear out warehouse space who rolled the dice by bidding on a shovel/trowel with a bag in a box lot he saw... After winning he saw he'd bought an Apollo mission tool & I can't recall exactly what mission it was listed for? but the "bag" was included in the lot and think he paid $350ish several years ago playing a hunch as it was like a hand trowel in size and shape. Well? What would that be used for on an Apollo mission? Sure enough it was about a 1/8 pound of moon dust that was in the bag which also made the news and NASA DEF wanted it back... but think he agreed to give them 50℅ back and got like $500k in cash. I think he could've gotten more but who knows. I'm still thinking the helmet as that was one of the last shuttle flights and used plus survived the crash so to speak is worth a couple million... But not 20? what do you all think think? Just 3 feet more and It could have been mine! Ugh! Space junk lotto!! ISS I suppose is next!? 2026 I think it deorbits... 9 years late...
I wish Starlink would provide a path to upgrade our old original Gen 1 units with newer, smaller dishes as we roam around.

Love our Starlink! Only complaint, when a thunderstorm is overhead, it can't access any satellites. Otherwise, it's fast and reliable.

Love my Starlink here in Alaska. Finally acceptable internet, though it will be nice when there are more satellites in polar orbit for 100% uptime. Getting better all the time though.

Worked as a Direct TV installer for a year. You can do this job with just a nice cordless drill, a couple ladders, a work truck, and a Cell phone. You don't even need a birdog, a device that talks to satellites and locks in the signal, or azimuth locator. No proprietary electronics makes this super easy. $499 gives more than enough for business insurance and drive costs. Could probably do the job for $399 and still make a fortune. Just saying.

i did my own install but had a large dish at one time i installed myself and also dish and direct tv over the years but now just starlink

I own a property in Ontario Canada with an older very tall on a big hill, tv tower. Id like to utilize rhis tower for starlink for personal..but also possibly aa a business...is this possible.

She did not disclose (and Ellie, you should have asked) if, like satellite and OTA (Over-The-Air) antenna installers, she does code-compliant installations. That includes grounding the mast/mount and grounding the coax cable before it goes into the house. OTA antenna installers are relatively rare but you can find moonlighting and ex satellite TV installers who also do OTA antenna installations and could certainly do Starlink antennas, too.

Are they charging $499.00 Dollars to install StarLink? Let’s see, secure dish with screws, done. Run cable through wall and plug into power outlet and modem, done. StarLink does the rest. That’s $500 please. A lot of people are going to like this video Ellie, you should get a cut for the idea.
