    11: Dragon’s Breath Rounds
    Dragon’s breath rounds consist of mostly magnesium pellets and shards. These are considered some of the coolest and most exotic shotgun rounds ever! It is not considered a tactical load and is really just for fun although it can be quite dangerous.
    10. Hollow Points
    Hollow point bullets have exactly that. A hollowed out shape in the point of the bullet which causes it to expand as it hits its target, causing more damage to tissue.
    They are outlawed for use in warfare, and in many countries and states in the US, but they are used by some law enforcement personnel, and ordinary gun owners in self-defense.
    9. Railgun Projectiles
    Actually, who needs bullets at all anymore?? The US Navy electromagnetic railgun is essentially a super weapon!! This futuristic projectile is safer to stockpile than explosive ammunition and much cheaper. The railgun can fire a hardened projectile and blast anything it hits like a meteorite from outer space.
    8: The .577 Tyrannosaur
    For those not acquainted with the T-Rex: It was one of the deadliest carnivorous dinosaurs, with teeth the size of bananas. What’s more, it could swallow 500 pounds of flesh in one bite. If you want to learn more, just watch my video on the largest carnivorous dinosaurs of all time!!
    7. Nuclear Bullets
    After the collapse of the USSR, the media started reporting on the presence of a mysterious weapon developed since the 1960s. According the original article which was published in Russian, Soviet physicists were producing nuclear bullet fillers out of an element called californium.
    6: Depleted Uranium Silver Bullets
    While Soviet nuclear bullets read like science fiction, depleted uranium bullets, DUs, are pure fact. These rounds penetrate through thick hardened steel, making them the ultimate tank killers.
    5: Flash Thunder Grenade
    The Flash Thunder Grenade is not your typical shotgun round. A shot produces a blinding flash and an extremely powerful blast of 182 decibels. At just a little more, 195 dB, the human eardrums rupture. Jet planes taking off only produce 165dB.
    4: Macho Gaucho Rounds
    Macho Gaucho rounds mimic the appearance of the “bolas,” a device made by linking two heavy balls with a string of one-to-two feet. Gauchos or South American cowboys have used this contraption for hundreds of years to hunt game and capture cattle since it entangles the animal’s legs causing it to trip.
    3: Jihawg Ammo
    Labeled as the most controversial round in the universe, the Jihawg Ammo is the subject of much criticism and ridicule, even in the gun owning community.
    Its creators, believed to be some Idaho gun owners, were sitting around a campfire enjoying their drinks.
    2: Punt Gun Shells
    The Punt Gun is the largest shotgun ever, used avidly by wildfowl hunters in the 19th to 20th centuries. A typical punt gun averaged 8 feet 4 inches in length, weighed 43 kg, and had a bore diameter of 2-inches ( 51 mm)
    1: G-2 Research R.I.P. Bullet
    Topping this list of insane bullets is the Radically Invasive Projectile, nicknamed the “Rest in Peace” bullet. Many consider it the world’s deadliest bullet, and the manufacturer markets it as “the last round you’ll ever need.”

      No one said that they did combust. Ben Mitchell was saying that a hollow point bullet, being an inert piece of lead partially enveloped by a copper jacket, does not explode. Instead hollow points expand. The confusion over the "explosion" may come from the possibility of the bullet partially fragmenting when it strikes a solid object, like a bone.

    That description off hollow points is completely inaccurate. They are absolutely used in warfare. I had hollow point nines in my side arm when I was in the Air Force. They are designed to not create exit wounds because firing a pistol at someone at effect range almost always will pass through the target and endangering any bystanders. They also don't really cause more damage because they have a straighter trajectory upon entry and stop without causing damage through the whole target.

      The US Air Force only uses hollow point bullets in Security Police sidearms for on base operations and even then not universally true. When I was Security Police 1969-1977 we were issued standard 158 gr. ball ammo for our .38spc sidearms. Hollow point bullets were banned by the Hague convention for use in combat. All nations that signed that agreement are bound by those rules. That is true for ALL branches of the US military. Some covert operations by non-military personnel are exempt.

    • @metamorphicorder
      @metamorphicorder 6 лет назад +2

      Depends on how you view ballistic damage and lethality. A through and through shot is typically more survivable than one that involves particles left in the body. That involves insitu infection risk since anything on the bullet remains in the body longer than with a pass through shot. Also hollow points depending on the levels of clothing and or armor on the target CAN fragment in a target usually creating multiple wound channels or at the very least a larger non closing wound channel and a decision of whether to try to remove the round or pieces vs leaving them in. Additionally from a standpoint of energy dump a hollow point that stops in a target dumps ALL of its energy into a target vs a pass through which takes its remaining energy with it as it exits.
      So for a given energy load and from the perspective of wound channel size and post injury complications, a hollow point has a tendency to be more injurious or deadly.
      For a given caliber and load all other things being equal.

    10 is far from insane. Hollowpoint rounds are only illegal for use by civilians in New Jersey and for use by the military by international law and treaties. They are very mainstream in law enforcement and personal protection in the USA. I'm a US CCW instructor. They're perfectly legal to own in my jurisdiction. I also recommend that those who have a firearm for personal protection, if possible, carry the same ammunition as their local or a major US law enforcement agency. In my case that would be LVMPD which uses Speer Gold Dot LE Duty rounds. Get your facts straight. Hollowpoints are not insane rounds nor are they not mainstream in the USA.

    • @booradley6832
      @booradley6832 4 года назад

      I mean, aside from arguing the semantics of what "normal" means I feel it fit the context. The FMJ rounds that are the expected munitions of internationally compliant combat-which they did touch on- are jacketed and have a full, at least semi-rounded nose on them. You dont really start to see the spike-style bullets until you get into LMG territory and higher.
      Is there something I'm missing? I dont know a lot about each individual micro adjustment of the ammunition of the 21st century, but I do make an effort to study the changes of ammunition composition from 1800 to 1950 where most of the important changes happened. Thinking of making a master's thesis out of it. I welcome any new information though, and dont mind being wrong.

    • @zombieresponder
      @zombieresponder 4 года назад +1

      @@booradley6832 WTF is a "spike style" bullet? Spitzer type bullets have been used in virtually all military and sporting rifle ammunition since World War 2. The few exceptions to this rule are necessary due to the design of the firearm the cartridge is used in. An example would be the 1894 Winchester rifle, typically found chambered for 30-30 Winchester, with a tubular magazine. Round nose bullets are used because a Spitzer style pointed bullet would run the risk of detonating a round in the magazine tube.

    The railgun,hasn't been developed further,not because it's ''too dangerous'',but because it needs too much electric energy,in order to generate the electromagnetic field,that propels the projectile.The weapon works perfectly and is extremely powerful,it can theoretically,destroy an enemy battleship,with one shot.The problem is,you need a huge powersource,in order to operate it and it's also very big.At the current stage of development,it's not practical,but if they manage to downsize it and make it work with less electric energy,this thing will be devastating.

    • @danwilson9755
      @danwilson9755 5 лет назад +8

      doubleP also they are not affective enough for the navy because of the curve of the earth. With radar systems capable of finding enemy navy vessels at 900 Miles all an enemy needs to do is sit just below the horizon and shiot missiles at you. The rail gun will just fire over its head since it fires so fast it can't arc to hit targets over the horizon.

      Look up "Star Wars Defence System." Or "Star Wars Defense System" if you're a yankee. Same concept but requiring way less power since gravity does most of the work as well.

    • @thepope2412
      @thepope2412 5 лет назад +5

      doubleP no the problem with it is not generating the energy, because naval vessels have nuclear reactors, but the fact that the sheer amount of electricity can damage the gun which means you have to do a lot of maintenance if you want to use it regular.

    • @Dracounius
      @Dracounius 5 лет назад +10

      There are so many wrong things about all the above comments (except The Pope's) I don't actually know where to start...
      Mike, the star wars system uses missiles and lasers, you are thinking about "rods from god" the fires or releases rocket propelled kinetic weapons.
      Dan Wilson, NOTHING you said is right.
      1. no currently used ship-based missile even claims a range of 900miles (1000km or little over 600miles is current max).
      2. unless you build a rail gun that has a muzzle velocity in excess of escape velocity (so the projectile leaves earths atmosphere) the projectile WILL. ALWAYS. ARC. If the ship is so close you fire over it (HIGHLY unlikely) you can simply use less power or aim higher for a higher arc.

    Hey. You have no idea what a hollow point bullet does. You were particularly correct, but the DO NOT explode inside the body.

    • @cdpond
      @cdpond 6 лет назад +3

      Agreed. They more or less just sort of "mushroom" out. Fragmentation would be more likely if it hits a large bone mass of some sort that would break the edges of the mushroom off.

    • @cameronsmith7719
      @cameronsmith7719 6 лет назад +1

    • @TheAttacker732
      @TheAttacker732 6 лет назад

      RussXnimbusX42 Eh, normal hollowpoints CAN fragment, although that's most likely from excessive velocities. Like, loading a bullet meant for .45 ACP into full-house .45 WinMag rounds. However, such scenarios are unlikely outside of the .451 bullets.

    • @conordudek9955
      @conordudek9955 6 лет назад

      meh, depends on how you define explode I guess. It's a valid use of "explode" as a word by it's definition, but it is definitely misleading.

    The rail gun is no longer funded by the US. This is do to cost. The ammo is cheaper when firing the rail gun, however rail gun get pretty extream wear and tear when fired. It turned out its cheaper and more reliable to fire missles and cannons, then it is to keep replacing and special magnetic barrel constantly.

      rhys williams well anyone who reffers to all projectiles as a bullet obviouly doesnt know a thing. I mean they called an apfsds shell a "depleted uranium silver bullet". It was designed to penetrate armour, not to kill werewolves - it doesnt contain a trace of silver.

    In my experience with the R.I.P. rounds from G2, the “teeth” blast apart as soon as the projectile leaves the barrel and seldom hit the target in a way you would be hoping for. Cool idea, but shit round. Took a 9mm bullet to the size of a 22LR and maybe a tooth in the target…. MAYBE.
    Wouldnt recommend for home defense.
