i used both. Honestly I've been using AE for so long that i can't switch .I depend on it so much
It's cool, but the fusion part of it is very resource heavy. The node editor is slower to learn.

The reason I like resolve is that I don't NEED plugins, alot of what you need is already built in, unlike adobe where you can't do anything without plugins
I use shortcut the best editor because as a Linux user if my editor crash I fix the problem or report it as an issue to fix it right away not like adobe when I report issue I wait for ages to get the problem fix

AE was the last thing keeping me with Adobe, but after a few weeks with Fusion, I dumped Abobe.

@@zenith_gaming it is similar to After Effects (motion design and special fx app) but it is included within DaVinci Resolve.

Mmmmm, I would say in general probably not. I think that Davinci is a much smoother experience compared to AE, but AE has some tools that are pretty hard to much

@@itstheWampus sometimes simple function gets too complicated with nodes.
Now it just needs intuitive controls. Navigation and editing is dogshit because of the controls. It renders fast and videos look good, but man its so hard to work with.

If I have adobe why would I use after effects?
The biggest problem with Da Vinci, is when someone completely new downloads it because its a FREE software. They quickly find out, that DaVinci doesn't support MKV files. THE DEFAULT file type produced by OBS... Just duh.

most after effects plugins are OFX and have resolve compatible plugins.. any big plugin has this. Never experianced the issue your talking about unless its a small plugin who decided not to use ofx like everyone else

Dude even tried the audio reactor and didn't say how bad it is. You're better off playing your music in any player and recording your screen as the visualizer is playing.
Can it make 3D animations or 2D puppet animation?
You can do 3D animating in DaVinci, but it's not really built for heavy 3D work load. You would have better luck using Blender or something similar.

I like using After Effects because I'm used to it
Used it for multiple years now and while I have tried node based software like Nuke, I have always felt like After Effects is far easier to use because of it using layers, although I've never used DaVinci so maybe it's different in some way
Also AE has some incredible features like the Rotobrush which makes rotoscoping faster and easier
But if someone is using a different software, that's fine, as long as they're okay with using it
Update: subscription is paused at the moment because of a reason, gonna try playing around with davinci resolve for a bit
