    If a GPT only takes 5 minutes to build, what kind of moat is there. The only thing that matters for now is if you have unique data that can be used as input to your GPT. But even that won't matter much in a year, when more automated AIs come out and make many things obsolete (just look at some of the GPT wrapper apps gone overnight). So it's similar to the iOS app store moment, but it will be obsolete 10x faster.

    • @itskittyme
      @itskittyme 7 месяцев назад +2

      yeah i think you are roughly correct, we could see a few million GPTs in a year, considering how easy they are to generate,
      which is good because that means a lot of quality will be at the top,
      but the chance of any individual to have "the single most popular GPT" is probably smaller than winning the lottery,
      so i think as a collective effort for improving AI, this is great,
      but if people think they can get rich from solely this (building better GPTs than the competition), that's probably gonna be nearly impossible

    I hope everyone's figured out why they're doing this OpenAI that is. Every GPT built and used is categorized by that GPT genre and it is feeding the model the LLM. They don't have to hire prisoners anymore to work from jails. This will drastically feed the monster all its food it could ever want to get closer to AGI. 😮

    • @hope42
      @hope42 7 месяцев назад +3

      Also the genius behind this is when anyone wants to share their GPT with a friend they have to buy GPT Plus. The revenue open AI will generate from this will be incredible and also make it the dominant AI chatbot because everybody's buying it so they'll end up using it because they're buying it. Now let's take a peek into the future. This is not a copyrighted idea that I know of. Soon Google GPT store, Anthropic AI store, Apple GPT store, Open source models with their stores and oh my will that be interesting with no political policies no medical policies etc.

    • @IntricateMoon

      Im sorry. But what is AGI? 😅

    • @hope42
      @hope42 7 месяцев назад

      @IntricateMoon It stands for Artificial General Intelligence. It is a very vague term in my perspective. Very very vague. Do you know Data on Star Trek? He can adapt with reason and intelligence to handle situations like a human. I would think he exemplifies a perfect example of someone's view of AGI. Who owns the right to stamp the approval when AGI actually occurs is a good question? I really think AI has hit AGI in many realms surely not all. And all the definitions I've read it seems like AI has to embody a robot and at that point adapt to the environment individually without any guidance.

    How does this chat gpt "app store" work? Who pays for the GPU Time/API calls? If it's you the app owner then you could go bankrupt in no time. If it's the user, then is it going to be free for them? If yes, does it have to be based on gpt 3.5 for it to be free because chatgpt4 is not free as of now.

    • @VR_Wizard
      @VR_Wizard 7 месяцев назад

      I think they have two intentions.
      First they have more serious builders. If you know how to set up a website you are not the average joe looking to make a quick buck.
      Second they might see it as a way for buisnesses to give their customers another service.
      Most buisnesses have a website why not also have a GPT to ask questioans about the brand the produckts problems with the producs, opening hours best way to get to the shop, where is the nearest shop in my area. If the GPT has live acess to the website it can also answear recent questions loke what deals are on this week.
      I wrote this than i thought why not ask ChatGPT 😂 I think for a youtuber it might be nice to have chat gpt answear all the comments and the youtuber just has to accept the answears before they are send. Would be sad if it is fully outomated and youtube comments are in the future only answeared by bots. But maybe its better then not having them answeared at all which happends 95% of the time.
      Here Gpt4's reply
      One reason might be that OpenAI wants to verify that you are a legitimate user and not a bot or a spammer. By providing a link to your website, you can show that you have a valid online presence and that you are using their API for a genuine purpose. This might also help them prevent abuse or misuse of their service1.
      Another reason might be that OpenAI wants to understand how you are using their API and what kind of applications you are building. By accessing your website, they can see what features you are using, how you are integrating GPT-3 into your product, and what feedback you are getting from your users. This might help them improve their service and provide better support for developers2.
      A third reason might be that OpenAI wants to showcase your website as an example of what can be done with their API. By linking to your website, they can promote your product and demonstrate the capabilities of GPT-3 to potential customers and partners. This might also help you gain more exposure and recognition for your work3.

    Nice video :)
    Will your GPT still show up on the store when you add the domain or is it only visible for people on your website?
    Because I'm still struggling to understand how people would monetize their GPTs, easiest way would to put them behind a paywall but on the other hand, if they can only be found through your website and people have access to the OpenAI marketplace there will probably be a lot of alternatives for them to pick...

    I honestly think the main advantage to making GPTs right now is mostly to demonstrate clever prompting, ai knowledge, and creative applications of ai to businesses when looking for a job or selling services. The money making opportunity is likely only going to be available to a small number of people fighting in a hypercompetitive environment to maintain dominance in their niche, since you're not getting paid per GPT "download", just an undisclosed percentage of revenue to an undisclosed number of "top performers", and the barrier of entry to make a GPT is so low. Additionally this whole custom GPT phenomena in its current incarnation is most likely just a transitionary phase designed to capture the public's attention while they roll out more sophisticated agent services. That's why I think its still valuable for one's portfolio to contain custom GPTs, because it shows you're up to date with the current wave and thinking creatively with how to apply it, and are likely poised for what's coming next.

    While this sounds interesting, not sure I understand how "General Public" can access your creations let alone purchase them, at first this seems like a closed loop that see each individual selling GPT's to other Open AI or ChatGPT users, how do you actually get GPT's to make the jump to, for an example, an iPhone user?

    • @WesRoth
      @WesRoth  7 месяцев назад

      so, that would be done with assistants and APIs.
      also, I think this will bring a lot more user to the GPT ecosystem.
      Sam Altman ran Y Combinator for a while, basically the entire playbook (at least at first) is 'get users'.
      This is the stage we are in now.

      @@WesRoth Thanks for the reply, its very helpful as I wait for GPT plus access, is it really necessary to have a web site to open a "store" on ChatGPT

    You seem like such a smart guy, it just blow my mind that anyone would put a red line around their videos (thumbnails). I scrolled pass your video so many times thinking it has been seen as I see the red line in the bottom. I got suspicious as it was on my recommendations everyday an I thought maybe I did not watch it completely. I hope this recommendation of the red box is not from AI to draw viewers?

    No MOAT here, just an army of free workers. it will be OpenAi the only one printing money from this. We’ll only make money from our own competence & businesses or jobs if we use IA to scale it.

    If the pay is like views (usage) that might be kind of neat. If I can $100-$500 a day that would be great. The real money I believe will be in the assistants api ( for coders ) I think enterprise money lives there where you are deploying agents for enterprise customers.
