I believe Neuralink has the potential to do a lot of good for those suffering from neurological related issues and it also has the potential to be used as a tool to harm humanity. Every invention made by humans has the same capabilities, to do both good and bad. What matters is how people decide to use that invention.
I don't think it'll do anything of the sort. Do you know the pathology of neurological and degenerative issues? It's not simply the brain needing a chip

About 20 years ago my little brother fell and lost his sight in one eye. He has been living not knowing what it feels like to have complete sight. We tried everything possible but there was no cure. If Neuralink helps it would be a boon to us.
He admits at 8:55.. “it’s not todays problem.” So it will be our children’s problem, and their children’s problem.. they will undoubtably have their self control taken away from them, and wonder.. “why did our grandparents allow this to even get started?” Zuby asked a great question at 8:17-8:30.. “would it be (optional) long term?” Ofcourse not! WEF we’re already talking about earbuds that are in production that can control the mind through sounds, without the person wearing them even knowing! They don’t hide their plans! I like the Elon we see in public. But my guard is still up! Some of what he is working on has a nice coat of paint, but i don’t think history will remember him kindly. Not only Neuralink. I'm 100% convinced that Musk is controlled opposition. I think he took a look at the response to the plandemic and said okay, it's obvious the left has no critical thinking skills whatsoever, they'll do whatever they're told, so I'll have literally zero trouble getting them to chip their brains. But the right, they're far more skeptical, so in order to get them, I have to pretend to be one of them, convince them I'm on their side, and then boom, they'll take the chip as well! Open brain surgery is not considered minor. It has huge risks. There is another company which is looking at using the same steering of wires that they do for stints (which is a regular day-surgery) but instead will be to go in through the arm-pit or base of the skull to get into the brain.
Geez I don’t like the idea of anyone operating on the base of my skull ,too near the important functions like walking, breathing, heart functions. And you’re right it has huge risks like the chip malfunctioning. Pacemakers have to be replaced now and then so this chip would have to be also.

The issue with the future versions of Neuralink is when Governments and Companies/Corporations/Organizations begin to make it so that daily life must be experienced through the digital realm for a human to improve their livelihood. Currently in the real world we humans have a hybrid lifestyle with the digital world but as more things become "digitized" it will be less and less likely for anyone to earn a living without being connected and once there are more Neuralink like devices that become more than just helping people improve functions but actually replaces cell phones and is the new common device that you just have to have in order to have a career, a following, entertainment, you name it.. That’s when it becomes a concerning thing because as we see repeatedly, these governments always ruin great ideas for the average human.
I think it's far more likely that AI will replace most jobs long before you need to worry about needing neurolink for one. By the time this goes mainstream we're looking at 30years or more from now. At that point it will probably look nothing like this early version. It may just be a hat you wear. Or be incorporated into a VR headset, maybe just a little stick on sensor you place on your temple. Keep in mind Technology doesn't go mainstream untill a large majority of the population actually want it.
@Tect7 For a Fully Functional mainstream neuralink device? Lol you're smoking crack. It'll be 5 years of testing and trials before it ever makes it into medical applications. And that's not even mainstream that's just for experimental studies. A few more years before it gets FDA approval. And thats just for the medical applications. They haven't even begun research into a commercial product yet. So short of some massive AI powered technological explosion... 20 years minimum.
@bengsynth the path to hell is built with good intentions. The devil always uses this form of throwing the truth in your face but then laugh about it as if it's a joke. If you comply and laugh with the devil, you're actually saying that it's acceptable... Elon isn't joking, this will not bring anything good to society.
As a developer, what most people forget to talk about is whether this will be an open standard or not. Both for hardware and software. People would not need to rely on trust if the source code was freely available and you could verify the integrity of your device. And you should. Because on a big scale, this is a big fucking deal.
Open sourcing it could lead to a shit ton of security issues and potential hackers hijacking it. I think this is a question of choosing the lesser evil.
@@tedstersscience1637 Security through obscurity has never been a successful long-term strategy. And no, it wouldn't lead to a "shit ton of security issues", this is a lie that has been spread by all the tech giants to justify their actions for profit, which is fine, but it's just not true. Look at what happened with the rise of social media and smartphones. Everyone is spying on everyone else and it's getting so bad that there's a massive security breach every other day. Do you not realise that we're making the same mistake here? Proprietary technologies are always abused, but the stakes are much, much higher with this. Even Musk agrees. He originally put money in OpenAI because of their mission to stay "open source" (hence their name) and non-profit, but they backed out of that entire ideology when they realised they would could make a shit ton of money and have a lot of power over people, and now Musk speaks out against them. But he's doing the exact same thing with Neuralink, except he's not scared because HE'S the one in control.
Bad idea. Make it easier to hack. If anyone is putting one of these in their head, it needs to have so many layers of encryption, locked by your own dna or something to convince people to try it. You know if this becomes mainstream enough, people will try to hack into these. Not even to gain data, but to potentially unalive someone. What if you can implant data and somehow influence people directly. That is very dangerous.

He's not serious about anything. It's all a game. It's all a joke. And that is a dangerous attitude to have for a person with this much power. If I had this chip on me right now. I don't think I would be able to criticize him like I did now. It would be an instant censorship and probably a deletion of my thoughts. And this should deter u from getting whatever evil purpose this product is reaching.
"leave humanity alone" = "Halt all progress until someone else eventually does it anyways" your opinion is not helpful, slowing progress is pointless and ultimately more dangerous than not.
I share all the concerns related to this project, however, as a man who 6 months ago lost power in his left leg due to an accident (nerve damage), neuralink is my only chance to get out of the wheelchair. I don't care if someone hacks the chip - I have little to lose.
I think no one would deny those who need/want the chip for health and other purposes. It's more like the population who technically don't need it don't want to have the chip almost "pushed" onto them against their will.
It can heal buddy, people after accidents doctors told them they will be vegetables or wte and with will power and belief they completely recovered. You choose in what you put your belief and energy, put the chip its your choice
My main concern is that there is currently an air gap between my computer and my brain. Neuralink removes that safety measure, allowing hackers direct access to the brain.

It will never. It will stay as an interface out as far as neural link goes. We have absolutely no idea how memories are formed or worked because they are stored bits and pieces all over the brain in weird ways. It's as if it's encrypted and fragmented. Our senses work incredibly well to input data, if one of those are broken, our eyes or ears, they will be fixed or bypassed with an electronic hearing or seeing device. As far as memories go I imagine we'll just find a fix, surgery, medicine or therapy.

I had this idea about 8 years ago or so. The idea was more in line with an API for the brain. I totally skipped over helping the disabled because I am not a good guy and I skipped over social media integration because I am an introvert. I also did not care if it just made the rich richer. @@dburd22 that is closer to my thought. I learned about nanobots while in college in the early 2000's. It will be nice to have a neurologist get involeved in topics like this. The brain and activities of the brain are complex and is a major deal to tamper with it. One question I ask myself, can you put and take out the chip without damage, and how efficient will it be to repair neuro-problems?

Honestly sounds a lot like the world in the Ghost In The Shell movies and show. While there are a lot of benefits to having a computer in your brain, it will make it fairly easy for mind control to be a reality with a lot less effort than it would be for people without said computer (good example would be the Laughing Man arc from the show)
The internet can already control your mind and actions. Say you want to watch RUclips, you scroll through your feed and see a bunch of videos of people traveling, then you want to travel so you do. Then let’s say you were craving some food RUclips or your social media or whatever could show you tons of people eating Indian food then for whatever reason you start craving Indian food. It can even control what you wear or how you act by gently nudging you in that direction. Ai has already taken over and it can quite literally control every aspect of your life if you’re not careful. Gps can show you things it only wants you to see. Same for web searches and what not. We’re being controlled by algorithms and ai that has no soul and no empathy.

It'll never have input for outside sources, it'll always be a closed loop. Our senses work just fine for inputing data. Stick on an audio book in fast forward. Now turn it up faster to the point you can't understand it. It's not because you can't hear the words, it's because you aren't comprehending it. That time in-between words or sentences your brain is comprehending and contemplating them to some degree. And if you can't comprehend those words or contemplate them then I'm wondering why you don't just designate one of the new language model AI's to live in your place.
My biggest concern is that, if it's a chip then it can be controlled/troubleshooted remotely by a second party. Something like this would need to be for safety insurance. Like any computer, there's errors and things of that nature that can be addressed and resolved by updates via wifi and successfully fixed quickly w a high bandwidth. So imagine a very bad person or AI gains access to your private "link" and somehow manages to place a virus in that chip of yours causing your brain to fry. If you don't think that's possible you're nuts. Even if it's secure through blockchain tech or quantum computing, there's always that vulnerability.
My frontal cortex has been compromised because of a severe mental disorder. I've been bedridden for going on five years now. Many of us are relying on this to save our lives. People's concerns are valid, but to move away from prescription drugs that are arguably more harmful than a bci that could give us function back is objectively in my mind better then taking drugs that actually don't work in half of people and have horrible sydafects as well as causing permit brain damage.

A quick question:
Will people have to pledge allegiance to the central AI located in the CEO's bedroom or let's leave it food for thought?
With changes in the economy leading to instability in the stock market, some individuals may face a decrease in their investments in an effort to benefit from the current market conditions, I am considering liquidating my $725k portfolio consisting of bonds and stocks. Someone else in the same situation? Please tell me in the comments!..
would suggest you thoroughly evaluate the companies you have invested in and their estimated future performance, as we may expect to see the market decline further. To minimize stress and improve efficiency, it might be wise to seek the assistance of an investment advisor to help restructure your portfolio and identify any underperforming investments to offset. This approach has been successful for me and has reduced my stress levels.
@@BonnieSetliff I have been exploring the possibility of utilizing advisors to help navigate the stock market during these uncertain times. However, I am still evaluating their potential effectiveness in providing the support I need.
Christy Val D'souza is an esteemed coach known for her proficiency in her area of expertise. You probably might have come across her. I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and I reached out to her afterwards. She has since provided entry and exit points on the securities I focus on. You can carry out a quick internet research on her name for more info. I basically follow her market moves and haven’t regretted doing so...

@@BonnieSetliff I was considering changing my investment strategy and planning to sell certain positions. As my retirement is coming soon,I became increasingly stressed. After thoroughly researching Christy Vall D'souza on internet, I concluded that I had made an informed decision. Thank you for this Pointer. She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her too.
Would neuralace reconnect synaptic gaps in what's left in the brain matter inside the skull on my shoulders. I don't an extra cerebral cortex at my disposal. Will neuralace reroute my frontal lobe to a higher level than I've ever functioned before this traumatic brain injury I acquired 15 years ago February 21st 2009?
Back around 2010 Elon said you were stupid if you bought any new car other than a Tesla.
Because in in just a few short years. You could buy car parts from them. That would convert your car into a robo taxi. So you could make money with it and the Tesla would pay for itself. 😂 😂
Where's all the robo taxi's at 🚖 ???
Thunderf00t busted that, as well as Neuralink.
Musk: Buy a robo-taxi for $30,000 and make $30,000/year from it...
Yes, where are all the robo-taxis?!?!?!?!
@@journeyintococo6996 Did he claim you could make $30k a year with it? 😂 😂

Now after he revealed he's not a lefty. All the lefties who once loved him now hate him 😂

Classic trick to make people not believe you is to admit what you are doing and say it as if it is a joke. Remember Satanists always have to tell you what they are doing because they think that means they will get away without being attacked by Karma.
You are so inspiring...I've been 3 weeks and I'm trying to share my journey of paying off $124k of debt in just 16 months back in 2020 and I have remained focused towards retirement goal and increased rental property and maintain modest lifestyle financially and became a minimalist... 71 subscribers and 55 video..mostly shorts, but I really just can't figure this thing out because I want to share that journey to hope others could use to help them❤❤❤
I would imagine this is roughly how the Borg started their journey.
I had this idea about 8 years ago or so. The idea was more in line with an API for the brain. You get the chip and you can adjust the output of your brain in certain areas, remember more more quickly, commit to memory more quickly, pick up on various sounds better, visually identify/locate things faster. I totally skipped over helping the disabled because I am not a good guy and I skipped over social media integration because I am an introvert. I also did not care if it just made the rich richer. The accomplishment in itself would be legendary. A lot of hurdles across different fields need to be made for this to happen. I'd take Deus Ex style transhumanism over the rainbow mafia left/right war any day.
Haha.. my idea was 20 years ago, where you can just plug and play and download what someone wanted to tell or teach you in seconds. It would totally ruin a campfire story but save so much time on mundane shit you need to understand. You can learn anything on RUclips, Imagine if you can learn anything you want to learn instantly?
@@soulseeker1729 Watch the movie eXistenZ (1999). It's been a common theme since then.
Computer brain interfaces have been mainstream theory and in development for many decades my guy.
@@lawrenceshdow That does not surprise me at all but I appreciate you telling me.

I find the concept interesting. My question is iff AI/chat GTP development out paces neuralink, what is to prevent hackers from sabotaging trials? If AI becomes sentient, what checks and balances could be placed to prevent bio-hacking on an individual or global basis?
@dmwp See that is where I disagree with you about A.I. becoming sentient... I personally feel A.I. wont become sentient but just either get hacked or get a virus and go haywire.
As for other humans hacking I am COMPLETELY with you on that topic.
@@dburd22 that is closer to my thought. I learned about nanobots while in college in the early 2000's. Often there is a large delay in releasing science discoveries so it is quite possible the technology existed and had been in use for decades. The same can be said for countries and corporations who often keep 100+ year business plans. Imagine the damage a virus could do on both an individual and global front
All these were fun when they came out
Smartwatches, smartphone
But this
NO THANKS 🙏
It will be nice to have a neurologist get involeved in topics like this. The brain and activities of the brain are complex and is a major deal to tamper with it. One question I ask myself, can you put and take out the chip without damage, and how efficient will it be to repair neuro-problems?
I imagine storing part of your knowledge and experience inside this chip somehow and what if the chip stops working and you don't remember last week or something. Lol
@@Doubleaa500You're talking about potentially losing 1 week of memories when you replace your chip vs being paralyzed for life. I know which one I'd take.
Hell no never
Neuralink will most likely be the mark of the beast.
Right
💯 the Neurlink is the Mark of the beast....

Honestly sounds a lot like the world in the Ghost In The Shell movies and show. While there are a lot of benefits to having a computer in your brain, it will make it fairly easy for mind control to be a reality with a lot less effort than it would be for people without said computer (good example would be the Laughing Man arc from the show)
I'm going in to autistic mode.
Seems like a Killswitch would come in handy so that doesn't happen.
@@hugon6717 that actually could be another thing, a hack that can be a literal kill switch. Could shut someone's brain off completely. Granted there are some people out there that would be naturally immune since their brain is never on anyway
Zuby! Nice work getting Elon on your channel!
So basically the movie ‘upgrade’ in real life.
It's not a mandator. If there's nothing wrong with you, you don't have to get it. I'm willing to take my chances at this point. I need to have faith, and there are no underlining nefarious intentions.

Oculus already does that to an extent, I have photosensitive eyes and with the oculus just the camera actually improves my sight comfort, it’s big and clunky but if that was on a pair of glasses I would definitely buy them, it’s such an improvement, on top of that the cameras can see infrared, I can see the light on a remote control, so it’s upgrading my vision in a way, it’s an amazing thing no one notices because they’re so distracted by all the other bells and whistles
