    I just wanted to thank you again for the wooden tailgate idea. I’ve used mine with my diesel heater several times. I have yet to use my ac/ generator setup camping but it works perfectly in my driveway lol. When it gets hot enough that I want ac at night I usually stay home. On day I will use it. Glad to see you putting out content again.

    This is too funny/coincidental... I too have a pickup... and recently put a back wall on for an AC unit powered by an external generator... I too got a cap for my truck, which was given to me for free! I stopped the vid and wrote this note at the part where you said you have a pull behind RV! I laughed as I too have a pull behind, (35 ft Keystone). And while I enjoy the simplicity of going up any mountain trail I want without the RV, after I'm set up, and inside the truck, I ask myself what's wrong with me roughing it like this when I have the RV??? At least I'm not the only guy with issues! 🤣 Keep up the great vids! -Mike

Would you entertain us maybe linking up with you a time or two to get some hands on training? We are simple, pleasant and are just desperate to learn this lifestyle asap. My grandad, used to say,"boy surround yourself with good people and good things will happen." This is the spirit in which I make this request. Hey Keith, Nice overview of your setup. I've been watching your videos for a year or so now. One thing I saw brief shot of your bed frame using 80/20 - I'd like to see how that is setup and how you made it. That would be a good one to film (didn't see that in the list). I want to do something like that, as it's light weight and could allow it to be removed easy for storage when wanting to use the trucks full bed when not camping. Keep up the good work filming! Appreciate the shows!

    • @geenote
      @geenote  Год назад +1

      Hey thanks Doug. I have considered making a video of how to put together an 80/20 lightweight bed frame. The material is a little pricey compared to wood as you know. I just happened to have all the scrap pieces left over from jobs at the shop. A big reason I used 80/20 is so I can easily remove it and use my truck bed for hauling things around just like you said. I will try to put together a video. Thank you for the idea!

    Good to see you back, Keith. I like the improvements you made inside the camper - that loft storage is great. The shelves are handy, too. For a short bed box, you sure have a lot packed in there! I have some ideas for extra storage in mine but I’m going to use it more first and see what I need and where I need it so I can custom build to size. I know what you mean about the insulation but there’s not a lot of space to spare for inch thick pink board. I managed to get some in my back wall and door when I replaced the tailgate and lift gate but everywhere else is similar to yours and/or carpeting. Those ratchet guy lines look handy - where’d you pick those up? Thanks for the upload - look forward to the next one. 👍🏻

      Thanks for the link - I found the equivalent on the Canadian Amazon. Looks to be the same item under a different name - same photos used, even. I’ll try and put a video tour together of mine, once my voice returns. Had a bad cold/flu thing over a month ago and all cleared up apart from a bad throat that is hanging on - keep having to repeat myself my voice is still so rough sounding. I got out for a one nighter at the weekend, which was good - just feeling rough myself took the edge off it but still glad I went. Have a new rescue dog and I’m trying to get him used to the noises of camping trips so he doesn’t bark at every little thing in the night!

    If I have already asked you this before, please forgive. What do you do about your side windows when it rains? Not a problem now when it's cool, but in warm weather it would be nice to leave the windows open for ventilation. It gets so stuffy inside when I have to close up to keep things dry.

      @@geenote Eh... That's not really what I"m looking for. I have a tarp, but what a pain. If you do a search you can find those plastic things to put over your roll down windows so you can crack them an inch or so and not have rain coming into the cab of your truck - very common. That's what I'm looking for, but for the side sliding windows on a truck cap. Can't find anyone using something like this that might know where to buy them, or I haven't hit the right key words to find them. I just want a bit of ventilation from my windows when it's raining. I"m already almost too tall for the local car wash without increasing height by putting in some roof top fan system.
