- A second video that goes over some features added after this one: • Truck Camper Water/Sho...
In this video I wanted to go over some of the improvements I've built into my homemade camper shell since the last camper shell video. The biggest change has got to be the power system, which is supplied by a jackery 240 (240 watt/hr) and runs a variety of 5 and 12 volt devices. While a lot of the devices are lights, one of them is a fan that I made a wooden swivel so it can swing around and be stowed away. Another addition was the pump, which shoots water out of an expandable water hose at about 100 PSI. And finally I added some lights at the top of the door that light up pretty much a whole campsite. Besides that I've also added a hydraulic assist and foam matting to the tailgate. Along with a few other odds and ends, this camper shell continues to be a work in progress. - Хобби
Finally someone with a nice setup without the bottom drawer system
I don’t know how old you are (you seem young) but your hands on ability and can do attitude will take you really really far. God bless you brother!
That trunk box should be all over Amazon. Very clever
Genius. You remind of McGyver. Very crafty dude!!!! I love it
More video please Blake!- your content is awesome. building a big channel on here takes time . doing what you and I do takes money and time. but here I am =- three years later enjoying your stuff. POVs and TikToc dances are gone in a week and mean nothing. you will be big on here if you get back into it! Best wishes from New Zealand. Stuie.
Walmart sells a Primo electric pump that is rechargeable and the charge last a long time. It is for the big water jugs at most grocery stores and gas stations. It just sits on top of the bottle, so it can be hacked some. I bought one about a month ago for $25.00
Do you have the link possibly?
Young man insightful.
Wow you are so smart and this is so well thought out! Your very ingenious! When you get to be a dad...your going to be a great one! You explain stuff simply and logical ly! Great content.
Thank you!
Subscribed. Every one of the features you showed are wicked clever and well done! Love it
Thank You!
Fantastic work on that truck cooking box. I can see where that would be very useful
Thank you! It is quite useful.
Great video, try a Tractor Supply for a water pump. They have a small 15 GPM pump that auto shuts off when pressure is built.
Nice setup. Well done.
Young man you are brilliant. May I adopt you? 🤗
More like my grandson. You're adorable with hair that looks like we could be related 😁
I'm fixing to do the same thing with my Chevy S10 shortbed and a Leer High Top 122 that I just got 2 days ago off Marketplace for free. Even has the carpet lining 🤗
I will be using velcro a lot.
Your electrical system seems understandable even to this old lady and I really appreciate you pricing the components. Great prices and that box at the end 😲❤👍
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome mods! I really like the switch box. I'm planning something similar to move between a Suburban, a trailer, and a base camp tent.
Thank you! That will be very neat
Love the tailgate assist. Sadley they are breaking about one per year for me. Just installed # 3
Well thought out modifications! I enjoyed learning from your creativity Thanks!

Wonderful video! You're a very creative young man! Thanks for sharing
Nice options. I have an old Zodi shower I am going to covert for my truck and this pump info and the power options were a helpful resource thanks.
Dude nice set up, you should post a video on the electrical portion covering how you set it all up🤙🏽
Pretty cool!
hey buddy saw your shirt, cheers from ottawa! thanks for sharing
That’s a nice set up bud. The pumps and jerrycan works great.
Simple. Thanks
Damn man! Fantastic!
Good work!! I like the design!! I’m working on some plans for one myself
Good luck! tag me if u end up posting it anywhere.
Cool dude
Awsome mods bro ! I got a regular cab 6.5 bed & have been planning on doing something almost exactly like this !! Bad A Man !!!
Thanks man, i hope your build turns out even better.
How did you attach those pieces of wood to the ceiling that the fan is fixed to? thanks! great video!
Good stuff here..... 👍... Thanks young man 👍🙂
Really nice job ,but up in Maine the electrical wouldnt last so far back or any where in the bed we have the upper half of the state with nothing but, gravel and shale roads absolutely impossible to keep the dust out, I have to tarp or bag everything or its covered in dust ,outstanding job and knowledge of your equipment, well done
That's nice 👌
The hose was a great idea. What pump is that? Some links would be great.
Отличная работа! Уважаю людей, которые умеют работать руками!
Cool 😎 👌 👍
Did you wire up that switch panel from the jackery or buy it somewhere? Thats an awesome idea!
Wired it up from a pack of cheap Amazon switches.
Nice build, but id insulation the floor and roof and sides with carpet
Great video Blake! I’ve learned all kinds of new stuff from your videos! That tailgate thing is awesome! I’ve got to get one. I didn’t even know there was such a thing! You’re right, it’s really tough to lower the tailgate slowly especially from the inside. Could you give me a link to the tailgate thing? Thank you for all of your hard work putting these videos together!
Thank you!! And This one came from Amazon, "hydraulic tailgate assist"
epic
Where can I get the tail gate assist that’ll fit my sport trac xlt? The ones on Amazon says it won’t fit my truck.
Do you have a link to the tailgate helper
How many watts do you need to power that transfer water pump?
Do you have any links to share?
You should continue making videos if you can find time.
Link for water pump??
could you go over the electrical system?
What pump is that ?
Great job on recent improvements Blake. I used the magnet idea on my window shades. Works great! Wondering if u have links to what you used for your water pump, hoses, and electric supplies. Love the switch box.
I dont have links per say, but if you go on Amazon and look up 12v water pump (self priming) and get one in the 100 psi range it should be ~$40, I'd recommend one with the barb fittings rather than threads. The only thing I bought for electrical were the switches wich can be found by looking for "12v switches" there are a ton of options too.
@@BlakeHaskins ok, thanks for your quick response and the rec on barb fittings. Safe travels when ur not woodworking!
hello,
nice video. I wanted to know the tailgate diamond-shaped decking is that a pad or wood? Thank you.
Its a waterproof padding thing. It's made for boat floors
Jackery actually has a smaller one than the 240 watt unit.
any chance of a link for the "boat flooring" on tailgate?
Limited-time deal: Boat Decking EVA Teak Decking Sheet, Faux Teak Decking Mat for Boat Yacht Marine Floor Carpet/Swimming Pool Floor Carpet - 94.5''x35.4'' Wear-Resistant Non-Slip and Self-Adhesive Pad Strong Glue a.co/d/gNyZxX3
I stopped using those hoses because they blow up easily.
It is basically like a balloon inside the hose.
I had 3 blow up in a few months.
Really nice. Do you know the brand of the fan? Or where to find? And the water pump too. Thanks for share
The fan I just had laying around, the brand is "O2cool" I think. The pump is just a generic one from Amazon if you look up 12v self priming water pump. I'd recommend getting a pump with the barbs as opposed to the ones with threads.
@@BlakeHaskins Great. Thanks. I am building my pick up. I will post some videos in a week or so.
@@BlakeHaskins I just found the fan on Amazon. The model is Treva. 17$
Do you like your jackery? I have similar plans with my high top truck topper camper build. Debating going with a jackery 300 or 500 or dual battery setup with inverter
It usually lasts me a weekend of charging phones lighting campsite and powering the fan overnight. I'm pretty happy with it. I would just get something bigger if I wanted to power a cooler or something.
@@BlakeHaskins thank you I went with the bluetti eb70s 716 watt hour battery and love it
Love your build. BTW, tell me you smoke weed without telling me you smoke weed.. lol.
People should reallllly make separate electrical videos.
Always complaint somewhere.
Simple. Thanks
