  • This is a Box I made for my truck camper. If you have not already seen the camper, here is a link: • Homemade Wooden Camper... I made this mostly out of half inch plywood, using only some 3/4 for the structure, and some 11/32 for smaller parts. I've been looking at a bunch of chuck box designs prior to making my own, however I could not find any just like this one. One of the most glaring differences is the fact that most of them hold stoves, mine however does not because I already have a storage spot in my camper build. If you wanted to make yours hold a stove a couple inches wider would do the trick. The top part would also be a nice spot to keep the stove all set up, I plan on using mine for food. The mahogany slats on the inside of the top make a really nice surface that I don't have to worry about scratching. Perfect presentation. Too many people burn a bunch of time going over obvious stuff. You cut to the chase of what & WHY you made design choices. Shelf brackets/plexiglass and the rope/ bungee handle ideas are definitely worth stealing! 😊
    Thanks! B^)

I've been watching a few of these builds lately. You did a great job on this, and even given this old guy a few ideas for when I build my own.

Excellent build and you did a great job of explaining how you built it! I think I’ll use some of your ideas on a camping box that I’ll be building for my truck.

Very impressive, to have such good wood working skills at your young age. This is a functional and lovely camping kitchen box. Check out the Chuck box at Pungo Prairie, one of the best I've seen to get more ideas. Simplicity is the key. Magnet strips from Harbor Freight should be useful too.

You don't need one, and they are dangerous. Make two passes on the saw.
