  • Marty had a knack for writing the most clever western songs. His whole catalogue is filled with great self penned songs that will be played as long as people like to hear songs of the old west.

Have many white children and teach them all about this, and have them pass it down, then it truly will never die. True culture isnt being preserved by anyone else in this day and age.

@@Baathist_Brawler_1565 I agree, white people should have more children. But you don’t need to be white to appreciate this music. Robbins himself was half Native American.

I had a similar experience in Milpitas, California. I shouted to Marty to sing "Mr. Shorty". Marty said his band didn't know the song. Someone said "How about you and your Guitar?" Marty sent the band to the bar, and he sang "Mr. Shorty: to a standing ovation. I had tears in my eyes.

Will never stop missing him but so grateful for so many wonderful posts both to enjoy listening to, and to show new listeners what there once was in music-superb, appropriate lyrics; wonderful tune; magnificent voice and style;Talent; CHARACTER.
