So from the research I’ve see on Cetearyl Alcohol and some of the other fatty alcohols it all seems so iffy and always deemed as “ May or May not” contribute to fungal acne, so far I haven’t had an issue with this moisturizer and I’ve been using it for over 2 years at this point BUT as with everything else it’s all personal and patch test is always the best bet.
Girl you read my mind! I was just thinking of changing up my moisturizer because my current one is clogging my pores, but its always so daunting when struggling with fungal acne. I DO have fungal acne on my body as well! Mostly chest and back. I would love a fungal acne safe body routine!
Cerave as a brand is not fungal acne safe as the majority of their products contains Polysorbate 20, and CETEARYL ALCOHOL (fatty alcohols triggers the yeast).
The cerave have been absolutely disastrous for dozens of people. It has so many fungal acne triggers. I’m surprised and shocked that made it to a video that specifically suggested products to HELP with fungal acne :/
Just want to mention that you are a ray of light!!! I also want to mention that I use KHIELS' oil-free gel cream and it has been great for my dehydrated, reactive/sensitive, fungal acne prone skin!
I live in Florida (very humid climate) and happen to have oily skin. Has anyone else in a similar situation struggled with Cereva moisturizer causing you to get really oily and develop closed and open comedones?
Someone else in the comments said the same thing, try the Olay, Krave Beauty, or Dermalogica Clear Start. I think those would be better suited for oily skin
I am so thrilled and relieved to have found Yani’s RUclips! So enlightening! Quick question: I have fungal acne and closed comedones and just purchased the Dermalogica clear start skin smoothing hydrating lotion. I know oils are a primary agitator for my skin and see that grapefruit seed oil, ginger root oil and orange peel oil are listed in the ingredients. Are these safe?
I’ve tried it all. Only moisturizer I can use (Avene Squalane moisturizer), it still somewhat breaks me out, or is not moisturizing enough aka my skin needs oil, but can’t due to Fungal Acne. Lol you said “drier skin tone”, you mean skin type? Also you forgot to mention sunscreen. I only use Japanese sunscreens. Breaks me out due to the alcohol, but Japanese as well as Korean are superior to European and American sunscreens. I should use a physical one, but can’t due again, the oils, esters, fatty acids and alcohols and polysorbates. The curse of having sensitive Rosacea and fungal acne skin. Thanks the Ordinary and actives like AHA/BHA. I used to have normal combination to oily, sometimes dehydrated skin. But destroyed it by too much too soon, and now I have to deal with Rosacea and fungal acne. Rather just have one or the other.
OMG I was searching this comment. Yes, it contains a lot of ingredients that clog pores! Even if you put the required amount, it still contains 2-3 comedogenic ingredients. I just really don't recommend it to use on acne prone skin.

I’ve been struggling due to the fact that whatever works for malasezia and helps me get rid of it like salycylic acid soap , the ordinary products such as niacinamide and hylauronic acid while trying to maintain my skin moisturized with Cerave daily lotion has made it dry and given me red patches on certain areas ! I don’t know what to do Bc I’m assuming it’s due to dryness but anything oily causes breakouts and triggers of fungal acne . Hoping you respond , PS : I really enjoy your content you’re very pretty love 💕
Thanks so much. My skin hated the cerva cream for some reason, maybe the cetearyl alcohol. Awe :( the dermalogica clear start has polysorbate 20. Oh well.

Nice. I noticed the olay has cetyl alcohol in it, that's a fatty alcohol. I read it should be avoided and somewhere else it's okay. What are your thoughts 🤔
I personally haven’t had any issues with fatty alcohols BUT some research has shown that it can feed certain types of malassezia. So to your own discretion
@@YaniqueDukeLive ok. Thanks. In my mind I prefer those over polysorbate and fatty acids from oils. Jojoba oil for example. @@YaniqueDukeLive sorry I was sentimental yesterday. I found this website Dr Baileys skincare especially for Pityrosporum. Asked why are there polysorbates in her products. Hello Payne, yes, this is part of the internet discussions regarding Pityrosporum. The polysorbates are used to characterize yeast types. I have used these products for years in my practice with great success. When another reader contacted me regarding this, I did a scholarly scientific literature search and found no evidence that polysorbate increased growth and vitality of the yeast. If you have a scholarly medical study or mycology study that supports the internet discussion concern, I would be very interested to see it. My clinical experience is that these formulations counter the conditions that we associate with the yeast. Thanks for sharing your concern and question. Makes me question if this is true or does polysorbate really feed it. I just know to avoid it.
Hey are you sure the Fresh Lotus moisturizer is FA safe? Because I researched the ingredients and it contains ingredients (like glycerin, etc.) that’s highly sensitive.
