Not a fan of the Nomad but we really more of this, people showing their love for the non meta ships. They all have their charm and need to be shown love. So thank you for making this video. Subbed.
Unrelated but I used to play a lot of old school runescape and it's kinda soulless how there's just 1 meta for everything in the game and no reason to use anything else - so kinda refreshing to want to use a ship just cos I like it
It gives me razer crest vibes. The ability to have combat capabilities, bounty hunter style support. And the inside layout reminds of of boat makers utilizing space and not wasting anything.
When you first enter the ship, there are two single-gun weapon racks, one on each side, and a seat that comes out of the counter to make a small table. I didn't find where the internal storage is, and I am not sure if it even has one. It is perfect for starting to run hauling missions.
Even having a few nice ships in my personal hangar and having bought many more in-game... I find my self using the Nomad ALL THE TIME!! It's not just a great starter ship, it's an all around great ship in general. Very useful, multi-purpose and oozing with personality, love it!🥰
@ you cannot underestimate the value of the pilot controlled tractor beam along with the open cargo bed. I made millions scavenging drugs from battles and salvage yards and I could get away at a moments notice since I didn’t have to switch seats or open/close doors.
Ever since it's concept sale I've said the Nomad is hands down the best ship under $100. This is even more true with the current hauling missions, as it's the cheapest ship in the game that can accept any small or extra small hauling contract. The second cheapest is the Hull A, which can carry almost three times the cargo, but cannot do combat or carry vehicles. Plus it's about half the speed. What will be interesting is to see how the Crusader Intrepid competes against the Nomad.
Titan, C8 Pisces and the Reliant Kore can fit 10 one scu boxes, granted gotta play with it but it is doable, and in Star Citizen, doable is the way to go. Nomad is respectable but it needs better guns and more cargo for the price, hopefully CIG will give it some love.
@@martinsantos6497 that is one thing i kinda like actually, every ship has it's own strengths / weakness - I honestly just like the nomad because I like it haha
@@martinsantos6497 Yes, but some small hauling missions require three 4SCU boxes, or up to 13 SCU of total cargo. Even off grid you aren't fitting three 4SCU crates in those ships. When cargo grids actually matter, the Nomad will stand even farther above.
Did they ever fix the missiles on the nomad not working in 3.24 or 4.0? That was something I encountered a lot in 3.23, it would just refuse to go into missile mode.
The tractor beam makes this the best affordable starter. I think this might be the only ship in the game with a tractor beam and weapons all at the pilot seat.
Hi, new player here and I tought I'd pitch in. I started with the nomad, later on melted and got a titan (and as of now I have a cutty black). Nomad is the absolutely best starter ship for any gameplay loop that isnt combat, although it can hold itself pretty aight, huge bonuss for those 24scu on the back, and/or a ROC. Titan however, lighter ship with way more firepower (a size 4 and 2 size 3), with 8scu, is way best for bunkers and/or bounty hunting were you hope to get some loot for the enemies, its also alright for quick courier missions, but the nomad is as good, if not better. Honestly if you dont have the buck for the Nomad, the titan is really good, but the Nomad just gets so many bonus points for being an overall nice and comfy ship
The Nomad is such a great solo ship. She really can do everything. My only wish would be to give her a bigger quantum fuel tank, but that's my general request for most small ships. That being said, in 10 days (in principle), we'll be introduced the Crusader Intrepid, rumoured to be a direct competitor to the Nomad.
Let's put it this way. Cheaper ships don't have the same functionality, and ships in larger classes have been purposely designed to not offer even the functionality of the Nomad. Some renegade at CIG allowed this ship to be made. It's the smallest ship that can do so much, and therefore, it does it faster than the bigger ships. See a box lying around the door of your hangar? No problem. In 5 seconds it's sitting in your cargo bed, without you ever having to leave your pilot seat. It is hands-down the most functional ship for its size and cost.
This might be the reason why CIG keeps destroying its functionality by making the Nomad range so poor, despite the S1 components and thevquite large footprint. In 4.0 the ship has only 2/3 of the range of a basic Cutter (HOW?!?) And almost 50% less then the Intrepid (CIG has to sell that crap somehow!). With Pyro almost ready, the Nomad has been cripled after the refactoring of fuel tanks.
@Tesserax42 i was really looking forward to a new ship in the "starter ship" category from Crusader. I had hoped for essentially the spirits little brother, but they leaned too far into the ares asymmetrical design and turned it into a big disappointment. It's fugly as sin(subjective, sure), is a big target with poor shielding, and all it has for offense is 1 piddly little S3 peashooter+2 s1 missiles. A ship that's obviously been designed around a gun shouldn't be outgunned by an aurora haha. It seems to me like they were afraid of making it OP by giving it a bigger gun, so they went way too far in the other direction. If they made the gun a size 5, it might be worth considering. That being said, the interior amenities are great for the starter ship category, and the little drop-down cargo sleds are neat. Although the clearance on those looks questionable. I'm betting cig is going to price that thing in the avenger/300/nomad price range, and it just can't compete with those ships when it's only real perk is a nice interior and slightly higher flight speed.
I would consider the nomad more an advanced ship because of its pricetag, pretty hefty for a single seater and just a few bucks low of the Cuttlass, a realy capable multi-crew and multirole powerhouse. More difficult to load but your cargo is hidden and not anyone can see the riches you carry around.
@@Tesserax42 Take an eye on the Crussader Intrepid. The few leaked pictures are very promising. It looks some how like a blend of the C1 spirit and the Ares Ion. I could be that good that it possible de-thrones even the Titan, and end up as the perfect starter.
The Nomad was one of my first purchases getting into SC. I loved almost everything about it except the looks, its just too damn ugly. I upgraded my nomad to a Cuttie Black and now several years later its something else ☺️
anytime ships are shown like this... they look nothing like it in game... how bout you stfu and show us what it looks like in game.... stfu. better than the cutter i got when i paid for game. this game has only recieved my original purchase value, other than that i play the game to buy.... only thing i hate about thos game, is its pay to win..... almost disgusting

I like the style of Consolidated Outland a lot. The hybrid nature is very cool.
Ay thanks for watching! And yeah same, they're a cool manufacturer!

it sure is! I really like the interior, makes delivery missions feel kinda cozy haha
Loved my Nomad. Very underrated.
All the cozy feels - the avenger titan is probably the technically better ship but there's just something about the nomad

one BIG argument forgotten : integrated tractor beam, remote control from cockpit

@@Tesserax42 No, but eventually cargo that isn't secured to a grid will move around a lot more and damage ships and damage the cargo itself.

its an asp 150 and its very good starter and daily driver it fits a roc in back and good to go, waiting on the asp 250 tho
are you talking about the asp explorer from elite? What's the asp 150/250? 👀
hope we wwill get more ships form outlander love that stealth like design
