5:00 Speaking of building a palace today - we Germans just recently did it. We reconstructed the Berlin City Palace from the ground up identical to the original, that wasn't destroyed in WW2 (only heavily damaged) but blown up by the communists in 1950. It was re-opened in 2021 as a museum. There are many videos about the reconstruction on RUclips, if you are interested. PS: The Berlin City Palace was built in 1443 and remodeled from 1698-1713. The reconstruction took from 2013 to 2021. It was financed almost exclusively by donations.
I think El Palacio Real must be one of the most impressive buildings all over the World, and it is even more impressive watch it in person. I hope you can visit it one day
In the 18th century, the big cities in the USA were beautiful with beautiful buildings. Speculation and the lack of protection of historic buildings, the prominence of shopping malls, residential suburbs, the automobile, etc., have ruined the historic center of American cities. There are no pedestrian zones and public transportation is deficient. I think that this urban model is not appropriate and turns cities into inhospitable and dehumanized giants. I prefer the European model and the respect for historic spaces that preserve the memory of the nation and its past. The USA is a great country. I hope to visit Boston, Washington or NY as a tourist one day, but I definitely prefer my country Spain and to travel around Europe. Thank you for your channel, I like to see your interactions. Greetings and Merry Christmas.
As a simple detail about the horse statues, I would like to tell you that the one in the main square of Madrid suffered an attack by putting explosives in the horse's mouth and after the explosion they saw that there were many small bones on the ground and they realized that The birds entered the horse through the mouth and were not able to get out and died there. Once the statue was restored, they removed the hole so that this would not happen.
Competition in architecture between countries and cities is very common in Europe. It is a sign of prestige, and in many cases also of propaganda. It all began with the Romans, who used architecture to impress the people they wanted not only to conquer, but to convince them that belonging to Rome was worthwhile. We have also inherited from the Italian Renaissance the artistic competition between cities: impressive buildings, great painters, great sculptors, writers and thinkers. It can be considered part of a "Cold War" that has sown wonders on this continent.
Carlos III was the first King living in The Royal Palace, not just a place to live but in this building were all state ministries or departaments of the Hispanic Monarchy. At that time it ruled from european Spain to New Spain, New Granade, Perú and Silver River Viceroyalties, (not colonies as the origin of the US that Carlos III helped with money, troops and guns to help G Washington to independence them from the british), in the Americas Biden visit to the Royal Palace mention that fact: ruclips.net/video/t05dfOwMu7A/видео.html American historian explains how spanish Bernardo de Gálvez won decisive batles as the one in Pensacola: ruclips.net/video/-V9XmXi3PQY/видео.html Visit inside the Royal Palace of Madrid that can be visited as a museum and used in formal eventos because the royal family doesnt live in it since 1931: ruclips.net/video/hhFkX65aVmI/видео.htmlsi=d2NAysi_v6dsWVT8

Another impressive building in Madrid is El Escorial, if u have the chance to come this is a must, and also El Palacio de Aranjuez few kilometres from Madrid
Madrid es una ciudad muy joven sólo tiene 1000 mil años😂 la fundaron los árabes . El Rey de España hizo construir una palacio casi igual en Nápoles .Carlos II de Nápoles y III de España.
Disculpa, me he confundido.
It is amazing, that The Royal Palace was built back in time, in just 17 years. Mind blowing as u say
I love your videos..there are nice and educational.
Thanks! I am learning a ton! New video on the INSIDE of the Madrid Palace should be out tomorrow...
Me gustaría que reaccionarás como es por dentro el palacio real de Madrid
