Yeah I just bought one and they were already waiting for the other two mags for almost a month. They sold it to me with the promise that they received notice that the other two mags were on the way and should arrive Monday. By the time I pick it up next Friday it should be complete. Thanks for the review.
I’m glad Sig is finally sending the mags out. I got 2 already, waiting for the other 2 now. Thank you for your comment and thank you for viewing my friend
Couple noticeable differences between the US and German models... the safety on the new model is more positive and tight, the external ejector is far superior to the german internal. As far as smoothness, mine is every bit as smooth as my Les Baer 1911. It feels like its running on ball bearings. I will say there is a weird empty screw hole that is hidden by the rear sight blade, if you take the sight off, youll see it. So far no sig rep has provided an answer as to why its there. I modified a Trijicon 1911 rmr plate with attsched rear sight so it would fit mine as well
Thanks for your review on these! I just rather swiftly pushed through from layaway-to-purchase on the STAS version; while the classic grips look amazing, I see those Piranha grips as the perfect furniture set for this pistol; plus I'd be overly concerned about the wooden grips getting faded or damaged/cracked/chipping--if that's a thing for such grips. I wonder if the Piranha's are as aggressive as the G10 VZ II's on my DW Specialist--those things absolutely glue themselves to the hand, and rather sharply. This will be my very first 9mm firearm; and what a fitting model to finish out my collection. Awaiting your range review!
Brother they both are amazing. I’ve had hundreds of wood gripped firearms over the year and I’ve never seen a single one chip or crack. The G10 are very aggressive and I like that about them, but the woods are as well surprisingly. I like them both a lot, but I like the classic look better. I still plan on buying a 2011 Staccato XL before to long so that will be my “tactical” high end firearm.
@@GoldenWebb I'll say this: if those woods ever get offered separately by SIG, I'm gettin' them--just to have the option. They were tempting, but the addition of that gas pedal sold me on the STAS. I had previously settled on a carry model P320 AXG, and was planning to customize it, but everything that I see on this new X5 has what I was going to put on the AXG, plus a larger capacity (save for the difference of nights sights versus this fiber optic; straight trigger versus adjustable). Both winners, no wrong choice. Enjoy, sir!
I’ll probably be getting rid of my STAS after the review if you’d be interested. I like them both for sure, the gas peddle is a nice add on for sure! And yes 100% pick up a pair of these grips!
@@GoldenWebb Bruh, if I could by a second X5 right now, I most certainly would do that, lol! I've seen your reviews on the 500 Magnum 4'', and some others; I appreciate your work and your honest opinions.
its nice but its not 2300 nice, you're competing with shit like a shadow 2 for 1500 and a ts2 for 1600, at 2300 you're on par with the cheaper staccatos and for 2600 u can get a staccato p...
I’ve had the shadow 2, Accushadow 2, TSO and TS2. I like this one better then them. Now In the realm of staccato, they are bad close but the staccato P is a tad bit better
Any plans to get a P226 X5 Legion? If so, a good video would be comparing after some range time and giving an opinion on which you would keep if you could only have one.
Brother to be honest I already sold both of these sigs. I miss the DA/SA of my prior sigs. I’m hoping they come out with the “all around” X5, which is the DA/SA X5. Until then, I probably will not be getting another X5. Not that they aren’t good guns, but they just aren’t the gun I was expecting it to be.
It’s better then the shadow in my opinion. I’ve had a few shadows. Now this vs Accushadow is alittle different. It would be hard to tell which is better to be honest
@@GoldenWebb yup that's your personal opinion, me I'll take the shadow 1 or 2 over the p226, out the box they shoot almost identical now image giving the shadow a 1k upgrade to match p226 retail price witch there really no need to upgrade the shadow. But all in all both accurate smooth guns
@@GoldenWebb Sure. I currently have too many guns as range toys now, so there's no need for another one. However, as a big sig fan, I know that I would probably get one later next year :) Thank you.
I owen an American one and the only thing I dont like about the pistol is the slide to frame fit its kind of loose for a $2.200 pistol, everything else is just find, nothing to write home about. Trigger is fairly good not great it could be better, hav a clip of me shaking the pistol and you can even hear the pistol making noice like a maraca, it is a shame as the pistol could be a real nice pc of shooting equipment. BTW am a competetive shooter USPSA.
I’ve a 226 legion, love it. I just picked up this 226 X5 and will be running it in competition

This is Gun is on the top of my list of future arms purchases, so glad to see this review. It's very thorough and understandable

Great firearms. I’m
Picking two up
For myself.
Let me know what you think about them!
Love my classic. Shot recently for the first time
Worth the money
Would love to see a P226 Legion All-around version but I doubt they will

I’ve seen a few things on that, I’m still waiting to see what type of RMR plate I can get for it where I can have a back up iron sight
I learned to shoot on a Sig P228 back in the mid 90s. Recently switched to a P 226 Legion SAO which I love. Very nice pistols you got there.
Thank you my friend!
Heck yeah I can’t buy a hammer fired Sig unless it’s SAO.
“I bought three to see if there was any differences.” Yeah I usually do this too.. 😂
I wish the STAS came with the cocobolo grips
Same here. They truly are beautiful
This pistol looks so elegant and stylish. I wish we could have guns here in Brazil, and if that was the case I would definitely buy one of these.
They are brother! I hope you can find a place to live where they are legal. Thank you for viewing my friend

I also have a Sig Sauer P226 Legion SAO. What an amazing handgun! Congratulations brother!

@@GoldenWebb I for sure will!
Sir do you know if the gas pedal can be bought separately?
Where are you from, brother?
I'm from Savannah, TN and you sound just like we do here in middle TN.
Hahaha south eastern Kentucky brother!
From my experiences with Sig, I suspect shorting two mags wasn't an accident. Either way, that's bad, and unacceptable.
Yea I was pretty mad about it to say the least
This morning what are they chambered in they look like 45 ACP love the videos but that is out of my price range at present have fun but be safe
9mm
It’s 9mm brother
What does the STAS stand for
Stainless adjustable sight, which makes no sense because the Classic has the same sights.
Why does it have to cost more then a cz shadow when the shadow is still better lol

Nice looking guns. I thought you bought multiple to give me one 😅

German models are still far superior. However, when SIG brings out a Short version I may jump on one.
I’m looking forward to an “all around” version

Did you buy sight unseen. Mine is excellent. My LGS has fantastic prices I like to inspect a pistol before I buy it. Sig will tell your X5 is spec.
