They don't need a permit to protest. What they needed was a permit to stand in the road and block traffic. Why are there so many ignorant people in here. It's common law. Are you being this dumb on purpose?
I bet it's for the same reason that the investigator "mishandled" evidence. The police see the shooters as "their kind of people", but not the young man making deliveries.
Generally speaking, a prosecutor will charge the highest crime they believe they can actually get a conviction for, not necessarily the highest crime committed. Attempted murder means that the prosecutors will have to prove that the dad and son explicitly intended to kill the driver (as opposed to merely wound him for example), which is almost impossible to prove without a confession of their intent. Overcharging and being consequently unable to get a conviction is actually one of the most common ways for guilty people to walk free. This is especially the case in high profile cases, where public pressure to overcharge is a common problem. And to be clear, in this case specifically, it's actually just outright a bad thing that these charges were upped. In MS, sentencing guidelines for Ag Assault actually aren't significantly less than those for attempted murder. TLDR is that it's fairly likely that the father and son will walk on the more serious charges, when the Ag Assault could've put them in prison for basically just as long. It seems to me that the charges were upped as a result of public pressure by people who didn't understand the implications of upping the charges, and that has left the driver in a situation where he is much less likely to get justice.
As a well armed white man, I'm glad my black american brothers and sisters are finally getting to a point where they can safely protest while armed. It's time we move on beyond racism as a society. These men and women are PILLARS of the community.

They had the right to assemble and protest. But when they started walking in the middle of the road and blocking traffic is when they started committing a crime and were told to leave. You should learn common laws.
@@noslack1800 you get punished but not if you have the money for a permit or to pay the fine apparently. so you are allowed to infringe on rights if you have the money for it.
Constitutional law needs to be taught in middle and high school. Once a generation of good education makes it into the government levels of employment a lot of this nonsense will stop.
But that’s exactly why those won’t be taught. The state doesn’t want an educated populace, especially when it pertains to rights that may prevent its agents (law enforcement) from extracting wealth from the public.
Where in the constitution does it say “THESE RIGHTS ARE NOT ABSOLUTE” - Just because nine men gave themselves the power of judicial review doesn’t mean they are right.
If a few people gather together they want to bust them up unless you got a permitssion slip from your big daddy governmennt slave master determining when and where you get to excersize rights only with permitssion slips
The key word here is "Congress". State, county, city, and privately owned facilities can impose reasonable restrictions on when and where citizens are allowed to go, and what they are and are not allowed to do while there. Big libraries for example, the ones that have rare book rooms, typically don't allow any photography or filming while in such rooms, and such a restriction does not constitute a violation of the first amendment.
Dude, I was SHOCKED to hear your voice today while teaching Envision math. I was like, that’s Audit the Audit but of course there were no adults in the room I could tell. Loved hearing your voice explain division to my class. I’ve only heard your voice on one lesson. 😂
The person you hear in these Audit the Audit videos is a voice actor, not John Lang. You can go to the oldest A2A videos to hear John Lang's voice. John writes the script/puts the videos together, but hires someone to read it.
When bad police departments violate citizenzs rights I've noticed since the 1960s eventually the protections against police harassement are severely tightened.
The constitution gives the states the authority to pass state laws saw as requiring permits for peaceful assembly. You can’t just clamor for part of the Constitution. See the 10th amendment.
I know it is a ploy for many cops to ask you to roll your window down because they "can't hear you." I would think it would be difficult to hear for officers sometimes due to road noise. He did finally turn his ear toward the window which is indicative of him having difficulty hearing. In this day and age of constant use of earphones, earbuds, etc, I would think there is a fair amount of hearing loss amongst the general population & even more so with cops, fire & EMS that don't wear hearing protection while running to a call with lights & siren. So, compound hearing loss with background noise, & you get difficulty hearing.
@@Rkbmomma As Mr. Turner pointed out. Being on the side where the traffic noise was coming from didn't help him. And from an 'Officer Safety' standpoint is more dangerous. If the driver's door offered a better opportunity for hearing and was safer for the officer. Why would he have approached on that side of the car? Tactically it isn't a smart move either.
This comment likely won't be visible. Most of his grading is a mix between what the courts will let the police get away with and a little boost to keep his leather dieted audience happy.
in the second video you can clearly see the cops were fish for anything. Why did the lady cop have to take a photo of him? Just just so corrupt and out fishing and came up short on all counts.
I noticed that! Pure harassment. I would have hidden my face. That should have been surely illegal, as he was inside his car, being forced to have window lowered for tint meter allegedly.
Sounds like the police investigator is either incompetent or malicious in his handling of evidence, and either needs to lose his LEO cert (and never be allowed to be a LEO ever again) or be charged with a crime for withholding/manipulating evidence.
Lol, I can swear I saw a battousai video where a cop was trying to make him id for filming. He told the cop it was lawful to film them, and the cop said something to the effect of "you need to learn the law better"...lmao😂. If I remember right they threatened him with arrest, so he told them his name, and you could see the cop instantly knew he f'ed up.
The entire concept that you have to get permission from the government to protest the government is absolutely antithetical to the idea of this country and I find it completely f****** absurd that that's not something brought up more
Last time I checked, the Constitution doesn't say anything about needing a permit to protest. The cop's excuse is that they have so many people protesting that they are blocking traffic, yet HE is the one who's got traffic blocked with HIS vehicle. Absolute hypocrites!!!
Hearing you say Battousai cracked me up every time. Not that you said it wrong or anything, the imagery that it inspired in my mind was quite funny. Great content as per usual. Keep grinding, brother
There is a big problem right here. How is this not seen as an obvious conflict of interest. The law as written gives the police chief the ability to deny any permit for any gathering that he/she does not care for(such as a protest of police practices for example). This is clearly a poorly written law. Putting such a decision in the hands of one person is just ripe for misuse. 6:42
I've lived here in Washington DC for 59 years now, and here is the ordinance on protesting in the nation's capital: "You'll need a permit to demonstrate on federal land if you have 25 or more people. Exceptions: Up to 500 people allowed without permit at Franklin Park at 13th & K St NW, or McPherson Square at 15th & K St NW. Up to 100 people allowed on the green space at 18th & H St NW." Those exception spaces have protests there daily. A rinky dink town in this video should not be allowed to overtly violate the 1st amendment with some trumped up ordinances. These protesters would surely win their case....eventually. But because our city, local and state judicial system is so corrupted, it will cost them lots of money spent on their case in order to get justice.

The idea that so long as you claim an activity under a right it is legal is absurd. If my protest is assembling legally to repeatedly kick someone in the mouth, for example, I don't get to claim my rights protect me.
I'm not saying you aren't right about this case, I'm saying your argument is off.
They don't need a permit to protest. What they needed was a permit to stand in the road and block traffic. Why are there so many ignorant people in here. It's common law. Are you being this dumb on purpose?
The ordinance is completely unconstitutional.
Also, son and dad attempted to murder the FedEx Driver so why were they not immediately charged with attempted murder??!!🤬
I bet it's for the same reason that the investigator "mishandled" evidence. The police see the shooters as "their kind of people", but not the young man making deliveries.
We all know why
Well you see, the FedEx driver has significantly more melanin than the would-be killers.
Mississippi.
So glad you covered this and so happy to see armed black men standing up for our communities
Yes! Just like how armed white men assembling to protest to stand up for their communities is wonderful.
Amen! 🙏🏽
As a well armed white man, I'm glad my black american brothers and sisters are finally getting to a point where they can safely protest while armed. It's time we move on beyond racism as a society. These men and women are PILLARS of the community.
Absolutely!!! Its about time, kudos to those guys and ladies. This is the black panthers I remember. Always loved those guys.
5:25 Imposing "some restrictions" against the First Amendment is in direct violation of the very fabric of the constitution.
A.T. A, I don't know if you are a lawyer, but you break down the law for a layman like me for easy understanding. Much appreciation. ❤

Idk, it's the 21st century, and the reason for the 2nd, was to combat a tyrannical govt. I think we've moved beyond the ability to do so. It's anachronistic now, considering the 3rd has to do with housing constipated soldiers, witch hasn't aged nearly as well? Don't get me wrong, I'm not viemenly against it, just something to consider.

A permit to assemble 😂 a permit to dissassemble a permit to put a gun in your pocket a permit to have an opinion
Thanks!
The Chief is in bad shape. They should have rules like the military, that tests your fitness. If you are not fit, you are fired.
Don't discriminate against spheres, just because they don't have angles doesn't mean they aren't as equal as other shapes!
They're arming up like the military already

Alot of ex military are cops. Both don't require thinking skills.
The last clip shows one of the best, quiet, well informed and professional auditors around. His channel is "Battousai" Phillip Turner that was able to get a case law put in effect called "TURNER vs DRIVER". Driver is a tyrant cop who GOT OWNED by Turner.😊😊
Kudos to the State Trooper for being the ultimate professional.
Since when is the right to protest and free speech only done by a permit now? 😂 The cops are outta control.
In places where there are more places to buy/sell a banjo than there are dentists.
@@sirslickrock Not true, police departments everywhere do this trick where they try to convince you that you need a permit.
@sirslickrock i dunno man unconstitutional laws get passed north and south of the Mason Dixie line.
Not only cops are out of control, DA'S, judges, legislators and representatives and even presidents
Well if you stand in the middle of the street, you kind of need a permit for it.
These officers should be telling Mr Turner why he’s been stopped so he can protect his rights. If no law was broken then you wouldn’t need to surrender your ID.🤷🏼♀️
The only reason they talked to the protestors for so long is because they were exercising their 2nd amendment. 👍
All that fishing and you think that deputy would have caught SOMETHING. 😂😂
Makes my blood boil that the right to protest and peacefully assemble needs a permit. Fck no. There are no rights in this country if you need permission to use them.
I was gonna respond to you but forget to file for a permit to speak
They had the right to assemble and protest. But when they started walking in the middle of the road and blocking traffic is when they started committing a crime and were told to leave. You should learn common laws.
@@noslack1800you should learn what protests are and do.
@@derpythean-comdoge8608 You should learn we have laws for a reason. And if you break those laws you get punished.
@@noslack1800 you get punished but not if you have the money for a permit or to pay the fine apparently. so you are allowed to infringe on rights if you have the money for it.
Moral of the story: Never ask permission to flex your rights.
So traffic worked until police arrived...
Heh
Constitutional law needs to be taught in middle and high school. Once a generation of good education makes it into the government levels of employment a lot of this nonsense will stop.
Exactly
Yeah right. We can't convince people of the like the earth is a globe, how are we gonna explain ineffable rights.
But that’s exactly why those won’t be taught. The state doesn’t want an educated populace, especially when it pertains to rights that may prevent its agents (law enforcement) from extracting wealth from the public.
No peach parents need to
Where in the Constitution or Bill of Rights does it say your allowed to stand in the street and block people's right to travel?

Where in the constitution does it say “THESE RIGHTS ARE NOT ABSOLUTE” - Just because nine men gave themselves the power of judicial review doesn’t mean they are right.
"Congress shall make no law regarding..." and then "here are the laws regarding..."
1st amendment, 2nd amendment, 4th amendment, all gone, while supreme court justices openly accept bribes.
Thank you for exposing these BAD police violating citizens Rights
When bad police departments violate citizenzs rights I've noticed since the 1960s eventually the protections against police harassement are severely tightened.
That’s rich, a black cop telling people they need a protest permit. The right of assembly is a right, not a privilege that requires a permit.
The constitution gives the states the authority to pass state laws saw as requiring permits for peaceful assembly. You can’t just clamor for part of the Constitution. See the 10th amendment.
@@andremets It's no longer about rights, but black entitlement.
What does the color of the cop have anything to do with it?? They’re all corrupt
They were all standing in the road
It's almost like you didn't actually watch the video. All rights have limits.
"I can't hear you" 1) that's an obvious lie and 2) I don't answer questions without a lawyer present so there's nothing to hear anyways.
I love this. Instead of telling him why he was stopped as he said he would. He asks nine questions and walked away.
Today is 10/14/24… I pray the first incident is concluded peacefully for the victim.
How you give the cop a B when he violated Turner from the beginning! Unbelievable!!!
This comment likely won't be visible.
Most of his grading is a mix between what the courts will let the police get away with and a little boost to keep his leather dieted audience happy.

Apparently chief hasn’t heard of the CONSTITUTION
Assembling is only legal if you ask permission first apparently
He only got a warning because they knew they were false in their stop
in the second video you can clearly see the cops were fish for anything.
Statute of limitations.
Ticket is now void!
hearing a police chef use the term " Protesting permit" is wild.
Sounds like the police investigator is either incompetent or malicious in his handling of evidence, and either needs to lose his LEO cert (and never be allowed to be a LEO ever again) or be charged with a crime for withholding/manipulating evidence.
Chief needs a treadmill Desk
The Famous Mr "Turner" (v Driver) does it again! 😂
We don't have rights anymore, we have privileges in this country.
I gotta get a freakin dash cam, man...
The entire concept that you have to get permission from the government to protest the government is absolutely antithetical to the idea of this country and I find it completely f****** absurd that that's not something brought up more

I feel like as long as their not bothering people, they should be fine
I just wanna know why the chief is wearing those gigantic overalls for 😅
He was too busy listing types of shrimp dishes to find his uniform?
I wanted to know that too. 🤔
no belt would fit him so he straps his tent-sized pants to the shoulders.
Because he couldn't fit in the smaller pair of overalls.
So he won't get doughnut glaze all over his uniform
"How far were you from the other vehicle?"
"As far as i needed to be"
"How far were you from the other vehicle?"
"I don't answer questions."
Last time I checked, the Constitution doesn't say anything about needing a permit to protest.
The cop's excuse is that they have so many people protesting that they are blocking traffic, yet HE is the one who's got traffic blocked with HIS vehicle.
Absolute hypocrites!!!
I find it very interesting how some cops can remain calm around armed citizen without feeling the need to disarm them.
When you give them to much power they will abuse It... even a little bit of power they will abuse it... take law enforcement powers away I say..
Exactly! It’s so absurd!
Thank you for showing the truth!
hahahaha the cops face in the end when the driver just rolled out not answering the last question hahahaha.

Nine? That's not a day less than 12.
