Nz should have been the world champions of 2019 wc. They were cheated by some petty ICC rules. Wc for England was given by fluke, they didn't deserve it at all. They said on boundary count rule Nz lost the wc. This is the reason why I hate ICC, when they realise that the framed rules did hurt a team's sentiments, they remove that rule. If we all look at the wickets fallen then Nz won the wc as they lost 9 wkts( 8 in 50 over and 1 in super over) whereas England lost all 10 wkts. Then on that basis Nz won the wc. If they can formulate such bullshit rules even we can. They should have either shared the trophy or conducted one more super over. No team deserved to lose that day or bear the tag of losers around their neck

I lived in New Zealand from 1971 to 1976. From my experience, I would have to say that your comment about the cricket would also apply to most of the people, there. They are a polite, unassuming bunch, who get on with the job and don't make too much of a fuss about anything... and yes, they do punch above their weight, in many fields of endeavour.

Tape ball cricket is now getting into New Zealand soils as well. Tape ball helped Pakistan finding fast bowlers and just like what it did to Pakistan cricket in fast bowling department , it might do more wonders for New Zealand in coming future.

Is it just me or is the more severe, slightly stereotypical NZ accent only a very recent thing? Listening to Walter Hadlee he sounds Australian

    • @jithukrish4491

Yeah bro accent of Walter is more of a cultivated Aussie accent than the kiwi accent of recent time. Also you can see the way David bairstow, father of Jonny bairstow speaking English it's completely different though both are from Yorkshire. Accent differs as time goes by

I was in New Zealand from 1971 to 1976. The accent used by Walter Hadlee, is how I remember, most Kiwis speaking. I was living in different rural areas, of the North Island. You can here a number of people using that accent in this, 1973 video, on RUclips:
