He tormented us (England), even when we won the 05 Ashes he still took 40 wickets! But you couldn't help loving the guy. Also, such a loyal, generous friend to those who knew him. I'll never forget Michael Vaughan saying how when his life went to shit suddenly while he was away in Australia doing commentary work, the BBC fired him without a proper hearing, and lots of his so-called mates weren't returning his calls, he was looking at spending Christmas all alone in his hotel room, but Warne just called out the blue and invited him to stay at his house over Christmas and New Year with him and his family. That is the sign of a really classy guy. Really miss him, 52 is no age. So sad for his family. RIP
I'm a pom but I've never been as shell shocked as i was when I heard the news of Warnie passing away. I bloody love my 🏏 and my first memory of cricket is my dad taking me to ashes 93 where I witnessed a blonde Aussie just bamboozling our batsmen and leaving the crowds dazzled. Turns out, it was the beginning of a torturous 15 year journey where he would mercilessly hunt our batsmen out. I consider myself fortunate to witness his magic during Ashes 05 and booing him on the field and chanting we only wish you were ours. As we near the one year mark of that tragic day, it still feels shocking that Warnie isn't here with us. R.i.p. king...there would be no one like you, ever. I hope you're having one hell of a party mate wherever you are.
Nice summary of modern societal thinking - talking with a "knowledgeable" cricket fan some 25 yrs younger than myself about the "greatest" cricketers of all the disciplines and why we thought thus , how and why we love high level test cricket as the supreme sport we feel it is etc etc. great conversation ,and he said " yeah warne "may" get in my all timer team as the spin option but as a leggy ,he didnt have a googly!" . 🤔 😐🙄🤣🤣 I said "Mate , he didnt need one ; his skillset, accuracy, pressure and prescence meant that he himself WAS the googly- he was perpetual doubt in the batsmans' mind !! ". Simply the greatest bowler I've ever seen and ,though im an englshman, i couldnt have any more love respect and admiration for any other player ever (botham and marshall match it) and we actually used to take holidays from work to enable the timeshift for Australian home tests: just to see warney play! Straight into heavens first 11 for sure -god bless your soul,Sir ❤
I couldn't believe and still can't believe he is gone an absolute champion my condolences to his kids brooke, summer and Jackson and all his family what an absolute champion makes me so proud to be an Aussie
Once again Steve Waugh proved that he was the bigger man in the rivalry. Shane never had anything good to say about Steve who is the greatest captain to grace the game. Rest in peace though shane warne 🌺
Steve Waugh is all class - refused to be drawn into any sort of war of words or media hype. Says a lot about the man and a lesson for all generally in how to handle the haters….
Shane loved him and was so close to him when in a match Sir Steve Waugh dropped him(as always was on peak of career) without a reason and imagine preferred a spinner on him,Warnie was very hurt because he was emotionally attached to it..He had kind heart that's why would get hurt easily..he was also a human mate don't forget that
He’s not the best captain ever. He inherited a great team and was a star in his own right. He was certainly ok as captain let’s face it he had some egos to manage, Shane’s in particular. As a captain and tactician he is fourth in line behind all of AB, Taylor, and Ponting.
If DRS was available against south africa...well then it might have a different outcome. As slowmo clearly showed it bounced of Hansie cronje foot and he was given out. lol

Shane Warne went big in everything he did. That's a good way to live. Genius. Hero. Generous. Dad. Friend. RIP mate.
Thank you for the upload.

Seriously grow up. What is it with having a go at someone that has died? Stay classy
Too aggressive as Captain. Cost Australia a rare series win in India.

Yeah but mate hansie was probably fixing that match so it doesn't really matter
