The Guess Who is a legendary Canadian band who enjoyed chart topping hits in the late 60s and early 70s with an impressive catalogue of songs including "American Woman," "These Eyes," and "No Time." During the course of its career, the band has released 11 studio albums, and charted 14 Top 40 hit singles, 2 of which went to number one in the United States. The Guess Who is best known internationally for its 1970 album, American Woman, which hit number one in Canada and number nine in the United States, with five other albums also hitting the top ten in Canada. Their fan base spans multiple generations. Very few bands have survived numerous member changes - let alone having smash hits with each lineup - but The Guess Who’s motto is “the music is the message”.
The most recent and up-to-date version of the band has mastered a wildly entertaining romp through the early hits mixed in with their current creations, while managing to take the whole experience to a new level. Their most recent musical offering is stunningly sophisticated, searingly emotional, and musically eclectic, while remaining eminently singalongable.
Their live show is a celebration of life, being alive, and thriving in these uncertain times. The Guess Who never leave anything less than their hearts on the stage at the end of every performance.
The Guess Who is:
Garry Peterson
Derek Sharp
Michael Devin
Leonard Shaw
Michael Staertow - Видеоклипы
They are awesome live!!! Go see them!
Beautiful song ‼️
I really like this song 🎵
Great harmony as always. Giving Queen a run.
Woowzerz!
You go Michael!!!
I love this! Great job on this song!
I can hear influences of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Styx and even Sebastián Bach in this song. Cheers! ✌️🇨🇦
And Geddy Lee got his chops from… LOL, and “The Kings”… a bit Beatle-esq as well. Wonderful ear, my friend!
🌹❤️🌹
Sounds really good.
....I really dig the new music...thnks mike for adding some gates flavor to the music.....rock on my friend!,,😎😉
#HailYes first seen y'all, I.M.A. Flint Michigan yrs ago...
Beautiful new song. Saw you in concert last weekend. This is the kind of music that needs airplay this day in age.
Wow! This is great! I'm so stoked for this album, and counting down the days. I've got mine ordered and locked in!
😘💓
Olha o The Guess Who passa o tempo e sempre continuará sendo um clássico.🎸
My wife and I had the great opportunity of seeing these guys last night at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, NH. We are so glad we did because the entire band blew us away with their show! It was entertaining and perfection all in one. The Lead Guitarist and Bass Player ripped! Derek pulled off some unbelievable Jeff Beck medley and the entire band rocked it on Some Jethro Tull Retro thrown in for good measure. The stories small talk and dry humor from the Original Drummer Garry and the Flute Performance from Keyboardist Leonard Shaw were awesome! All the Original Guess Who Songs were performed with superb expertise and attention to detail. Their new Songs were awesome! The Sound was top notch. Do not miss these guys if they come to your town. Well worth it! Good Stuff!!!
It was “Shaking All Over” and the smoothly went into Jeff Becks “Because we ended as Lovers” I almost lost it! They were spot on! Fantastic musicians! Love the new songs and they crush the old.
Seeing them tonight!!
Okay, that flat out kicked arse! 58 and in Utah. I'm buying this just from this song, and that's extremely rare for moi! I apologize and should've given The New Guess Who a chance awhile ago. Cheers! 🥃 Single Malt only.😎
It's a band with a borrowed name.
I'm 65. Been a TGW fan since I was 13. Changes of lineups but still the essence of the band.
Best new rock I have heard in years. I gave up listening to classic rock years ago (I’m 62) but this I like this.
Then you've missed out on TONS of newer 'classic' style rock. T
😂😝😂
ROCKIN 🤘
2 issues with this song: still can't get it out of my head 3 days later and my phone won't crank the 🎧 loud enough! Saw the show in Oswego and am completely kicking myself for not getting a CD. This song blew me away as well as your show. Great stuff!
Fantastic song! Love the harmonies. Looking forward to the album.
I have most of the Guess Who albums since Wheatfield Soul, however I will have to hear more of this new album before I buy it. I would rate the 'Plein D'Amour song a seven out of ten. Good but lacking the umpf that I expect from a group bearing the Guess Who name.
Great song and video!! Keep it going!
I love this version of The Guess Who. Plein D'Amour is absolutely a great song. Each and every member of this band is MEGA TALENTED and makes the best shows ever. Plus, they are full of love for their fans, and they put a thousand percent in everything. Not only do they perform full of love, they are Plein D'Amour.
It sounds like the new album by The Guess Who is going to be a winner.
Except for the fact that it's no more the Guess Who then Mason by himself with some random guys would be Pink Floyd.
@@Whit-mh9nt Yes, I've heard that old dross before, but it was about Ringo Starr hiring some random guys and calling them The Beatles. Bachman and Cummings haven't been interested in The Guess Who for over twenty years. Garry Peterson and his band are creating their own style of music and keeping The Guess Who name alive. into the 21st century.
@@davidmacgregor5193 It's not the Guess Who, they are just capitalising on the name, it's a cover band. A tribute band at best. I felt the same about Ringgo at the time..Without the name, you see, no one would hear of them. Good strategy for success, but smells like cheese. My opinion.
@@Whit-mh9nt Yes true and brave comment not the Guess Who its Guess what
Wow, not what I was expecting, I'm good on the gnr lol.
I own every guess who album from wheatfield soul to power in the music. Been a fan since I was nine years old. I was ready to dismiss this with one listen. But it's really good and I'm so glad they're still making new music.
O HELL yes🌷🌺🥀
Great show at Tuacahn Ampatheater last night. Great new songs to go with the clasic Who songs
Guess Who....not The Who. Huge difference
The Guess Who was my first concert (I was maybe 13?) and now I’m 65 but still rockin’. This is a good tune just wonder if there are any original members in this group?
Yes, the drummer Garry Peterson. He has kept the band going all these years!
Thanks for share 💐💎🤍🏆🥇🪷🎉 Are a good example of continue with making arts and happiness for the world.
Love!
Really enjoy the new kick a** song and video. Please come back to Chicago soon!
Rocky Horror Picture Show? Lol
"Plein D'Amour"
Lost in the mind
Lost in the past
Lost in whatever
God, help me relax
I miss my old friends
They come and they go
And the spirits of some
Is hard to let go
I'm lying here waiting
Just give me a sign
And the man in the moon
Is my friend in the sky
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Is the answer
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Is the answer
[?] on the rails again
Stand [?] at the old station
Finding my way to go as the whistle blows
[?] eyes
Despite all the reasons why
Will you meet me on the other side when I'm free
And they told me
It would be alright
But I couldn't abide by the border lines
When you're slowly
Reaching for the sky
Where the air is thin and it's hard to breathe
Salvation
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Now we are love love love
Is the answer
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Now we are love love love
Is the answer
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Is the answer
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Is the answer
Plein d'amour, plein d'amour
Is the answer
Is the answer
It's cool. I'm not saying it's bad. It's pretty rocking. But it's more of a thirty-five-year-old rock sound then the classic guess who sound I was expecting. So it's more modern than traditional guess who, but still a really old style. I'm sure it'll grow on me. I'm just still trying to figure it out lol
Fuck me…that song is fantastic
Are these guys in their late 70s? They look good.
I'm very happy for Garry, but this is a radical departure from the Burton Cummings era Guess Who. If you're into Styx and Queen, then you're likely to enjoy this. Not my cup of tea however.
Without Garry this band would be no more. R&R HOF but will never happen. Such a shame considering those already in it. "Nuff said".
Wonderbar🤎
Damn, all these songs from the new album are great. It's too bad about the legal stuff.
It'd be great if they changed their name, perhaps to the 'Who Guessed It'
Sounds more like BonJovi than the Guess Who. Due to the legalities and lack of access to the legendary songs, they should bill themselves now as You Guessed It or even Who Guessed It? i'll see them with a name change
Sounds like a mixture of Slaughter and Tesla.
I thought Tesla met Yes.
I hope no offense is taken when we say we hear a little Queen, Styx, Beatles, ELO/Jeff Lynne, etc. in your music. It's still your own, unique sound, and it seems more like you're simply giving a nod to these other bands and their styles. You're making beautiful music, and we are here for it! Super excited!
Without Burton and Randy they don't sound right. But as players they great for sure.
*sigh* I dunno, it’s always nice to see Garry Peterson, one of my favorite drummers. The band it obviously very talented. The track is well produced. It’s just so cliched and pedestrian. I never liked those squealing arena rock vocals and the whole thing sounds more like a TV commercial than something I’d want a copy of. Regardless,, there’s no way I’m gonna dis “a celebration of life, being alive, and thriving in these uncertain times.” I’m glad to see they have a new release and hope they’ll do well with it and the upcoming tour. That said, other than Garry's presence, I hear no connection with The Guess Who at all.
Thanks to Pete Pardo from Sea Of Tranquility for alerting me to this! Holy crap!! I'm going to go order it now.
Not really The Guess Who’s traditional sound. When were they a progressively hard rock band? Lol. But this is a good song/band regardless.
Imo. This band needs a younger drummer and a new name. TGW has been my favorite band since the Beatles broke up.
Garry Peterson has been my favorite drummer also.
This band could go far with a younger kick ass drummer.
Just saying. Keeping it real.
The drummer right now is excellent. Never realized how busy these songs were back there til i watched him. Hope they keep him if Garry can't go no mo.
Plandemic
