In 1970 when I was cruising my big block 67 Chevelle Super Sport listening to this great song, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be listening to it in 2023 and liking it better!!
Mostly gave you the thumbs up for the big block Chevelle but do love the song, the band and this performance. Their greatest hits was one of my first 8 tracks. BTW… I was cruising in a 69 Mach One with a 428 CJ.
@@danquinnell3502 What happened to you?!
I got out of Vietnam in 70 ,bought a 66 GTO, sure wish I still had it!
Two of my older friends both had 60's Chevelle Super Sport and take them to the race track.
And we were able to watch the Dragsters and Funny Cars races .
Even watch Don Garlit - NHRA Race car driver .
RAndy Bachman is one of the most underrated contemporary guitarists in history.
Yeah, isn't he amazing ❤🤘😎
Incredible live performance by Randy Bachman, Burton Cummings and the band....Randy is one of the most underrated guitarists and one of the best guitarists of all time!
Randy demolished that freakin' solo. Holy hell that was amazing.
proof positive you dont have to do any thing but but live the jam top be one of the very best.
I agree 100%!
What a treat to see Randy play❤
Randy Bachman hosted a GREAT rock history show on CBC Radio. During his career, he knew literally EVERYONE!
One of the best performances anywhere .... by anybody .... ever!!
I agree
Absolutely
👍🎼🎶🎸❤
Totally agree my friend!
Absolutely!
Cummings and Bachman were magic together, and they could rock with the
best in the world. "Without question" -- this band should be in the US Hall of Fame.
Cummings had, and still has, one of the best rock voices I've ever heard. He could
hit the high notes, as well as the low notes, and came through crystal clear, just
as it sounds on the record or CD.
could not agree more.
Absolutely
❤FUCKIN BALLS. WIW NIGHTFENCER GATEKEEPER BULL DOG 666 BRAINTREE BOSTON.
The band name is a ?????😂😂❤❤😂😂 whoomp.....whooomp. rip it dan fab riff
they're in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame; Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame; Canadian Walk of Fame. They are not, however, in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I used to sing this song over and over again. I knew all the words to this song "American Woman" .
NO Time and No Sugar Tonight !!! *I was ONLY 12 years old*
My oldest sister had The Guess Who's Album and that all she would listen too. Back in the 1970.
American Woman one of the best rock and roll songs ever....
stupenda magnifica
You can say that 👍 again, my fellow BTO AND the Guess Who aficionado fans ❤❤😅
Oh for sure…..great tune….
75 years old and still rocking. I grew up with these guys along with The Beatles. And many many other fantastic bands that will never be around anymore very sad
El mejor cantante de rock , no? Que vozarrón !
It's not something to be sad about, it's something to celebrate!!!!
hey I'm 79 lets dance!
@@redwingblackbirdnell I'm hip!
I'm almost right there with ya, I m a 68 yr young classic lover of rock and guess who have always been at the top of my list! Just recently started picking up their albums again on vinyl! I love it!
This American woman loves that talented singer!! ❤️😽
Great to hear that. It is an iconic song. Sign of that time. ❤😎🤘
They killed it!!!!!!!!!!😅
Burton’s voice is smoooooth! Sounds great live!
If I was in that audience I wouldn't even have realized it was raining. The music would've been all I was aware of. Just a fantastic performance.
He is so darn handsome and that voice, WOW.
Saw them with Steppenwolf and I've never been the same! All-time favorite band ! A lost time we will never experience again !
I agree. Pure party stuff.
These guys are legends. And they're still kicking ass and rocking to this day.
Burton Cummings... what a voice-
You aren't kidding !!!😅😂❤
Freaking awesome!!!!! This is a great band. This music isn't just for the old folks, IT'S FOR ALL FOLKS!!!!!!! Love this group!!!!!
Rock and Roll don,t get any better than this.
I enjoy this band since 1971, and today I Have 66 years old, and I enjoy this EVEN MORE!!!!
Me too ❤
In High school when this was released enjoyed over fifty years ,ROCK On
When I was in college this song was the biggest hit ever.
(Ricky)===:::
This band belongs in the US hall of fame 🇺🇸 👏 🎵 👌 🙌
Well technically they are Canadian
And Led Zeppelin is British and they are in it@@jaylanky7
There is NO Fing Excuse!
They're not in the Hall of Fame because thin skinned Americans don't like to be insulted in song, lol.😁
they're not American, though
I am so glad I grew up with this music! This band rocks! I saw them many years ago in Waterford, CT!
Oh Hell Yea...68 and still lovin it. My favorite song in high school. Now thatz rock n roll right there...git u some!!
Wow, what Master Piece of Musical Performance.
Amazing
I didn’t know Randy was a tee totaler all this time until recently. Wow. Totally blew my image of him. Probably why he still kicks ass so much!
Great riff. Great lyrics. Great Song
The story goes that during a performance Randy broke a guitar string. While tuning the guitar after replacing the string hit a riff he really liked. So he played it over and over so he wouldn’t forget. The rest of the band joined in kind of an impromptu jam session and Burton came up with the lyrics on the fly. That my friends is real talent
I don't know when it came out but, I remember it playing when I was in Vietnam. Many memories comes with it !
Vietnam Vet Tom
Grew up in Winnipeg in the 60's watching this Iconic Canadian Group, still sounds so good and i'm 71 Now Love them .... RRHOF ya blew it baby
Remember hi-tailing it home after school to watch their TV show that was on once a week. So proud that it was a Canadian band in a province just East of us playing such GREAT music! Never saw the band live but saw Burton solo on a white grand piano here in Saskatoon which was just so satisfying especially when he finished on (What else!?) "Running Back..."
Ugh, aaaarg, You Winnipegins get to claim the best band on planet earth!! Ouchy! Thanks for sharing with your neighbors to the South.
What an awesome performance Have a Molson on me @ BrianDuncan!!
😮 wow !!!! First class Blues rock, greetings from Hamburg Germany
🎸 solo 🥳
DAMN !!!! As good as ever.
Five old guys that don't feel old.
Age is Just A Number!😎🇫🇮
This is the best thing I have ever seen!
Got that right!!!!!!@
Incredible talent and performance!
They were once banned from playing American Woman at The White House back in the day! Haha.😮
I saw them live in concert 1975-76, great then still are!
I’m an American woman (Memere) with a French Canadian Mom and Memere, (Quebec) love this
How I wished I was there to see this live...
Best Canadian band ever -- I've been listening to them since I was ten so I guess I am partial to the guess who...
if not the best ever.. saw them in tulsa oklahoma playing in a bar called the Yuka Tan Liquor stand back in the 90s. they were older and grayer, started off with a new song they had.. , enough of that they blew the doors off the place for the next two hours. chairs were 10 cents a dozen, still nobody wanted one.. they were that good.
probably my favourite live show
What a great 62nd birthday! Celebrating right here !
My favorite band when I was in high school ❤
My hometown boys from Winnipeg, Canada
The Canned Wheat title I think is a take off of the name of the band Canned Heat and we are part of the Canadian praries so we grow a lot of wheat. LOL
Lenny Breau a top jazz guitarist lived on the same street as Randy Bachman and was an influence. Randy Bachman also jammed out with Neil Young who also grew up in Winnipeg.
Check out Blue Collar by BTO
It also has a jazzy feel.
also
Humpty's Blues by The Guess Who is a real gem that gets overlooked. Burton just wails on it.
There is also an 18 minute version of American Woman from the Guess Who Reunion tour live in Winnipeg. ( running back through Canada) It is a banger!
Undun is one of my favourite Guess Who songs.
Cheers
Amazing talent!! What I wouldn’t give to go back in time and be at this concert. Just saw Burton Cummings in Edmonton last night and enjoyed every minute of his music and storytelling.
Okay people, I am 55 years old and have invested so much time watching live concerts on the tube. This is by far THE most amazing live performance I have ever seen and heard!
My daughter went to the SARS concert in Toronto with all the great bands of the world and when she came home she asked if I had any CDs by the Guess Who band.
Randy got that guitar so hot the strings were breaking. Awesome.
Fukin' aye! Crowd got their money's worth right there bub. Gotta be the best live performance I've seen on you tube since I started watching these music videos. Worked my ass off my whole life. Music all day on the jobsite. Heard it but never knew names, sometimes the bands. Somewhat retired now with time to catch up with the music of the 60s 70s 80s & early 90's These guys were my favorite band just because of this song. To see them at their best is just awesome. If you grew up in this Era consider yourself lucky. Best music, best bands, best live shows, no autotune. No computers, just pure raw talent. The live shows sounded as good as the LP's Sad, but it will never happen again. Miss those days.
Ai perfettamente ragione cazzo , 4:57 quando ascolto questo brano vado in orgasmo precoce !!! Con questo ritmo potrei camminare fin quando non finisce la musica ! Senza 📻 cd file musicali !! Mi mancano quei tempi!! Ringrazio you tube per avermi regalato questo concerto by Gabbiano
You definetly got all that right, I'm a 68 yr young rocker and we had the best artists, when I leave this earth the thought of passing doesn't bother me as much as the fact that I won't be able to hear all this rest music anymore!
Guess Who... Guess Who...Guess Who absolutely loves the Guess Who.....Mr Dilly.. that's Who .... and... Cowbell !!!!👍🎸😎♥️
Wow power packed :)
Brilliant!! Great music!! Thank you!!😎✌❤
FAN FAN FANTASTIC !!!!!
Absolutely awesome
OMG that would have been so cool to be there. One of my all time, favorite rock and roll bands to I'm 75.
Obviously you have great musical taste! I was there, I took my mother to this show. It was too cool. Cheers and keep on rocking!! 🍺🍻🎸🎸
Awesome performance🎸🎸🎸🎙🎵🎶🎵🎶🎸🎸🎙
RIP Kurt Winter. The most faithful rendition of their absolutely stunningly great performance at the Paramount in Seattle (recorded live on one of the truly great early 70's live albums).
Randy Bachman is one of my favorite guitarists of all time - but I always think of Kurt Winter when I hear this song. That man was ON that night in downtown Seattle, as the band pounded through an extended psychedelic version of American Woman into Truckin' Across The Sky - the entire B side of "Live at the Paramount". I've gone through two vinyl albums over the past 50 years, and am looking for a modern reissue ... Thanks so much for bringing this forward, PeutEtreDejaVu! I only wish I was in Winnipeg this night (or in Seattle back in 1972).
wow, a new guitar with all the strings and didnt miss a note!!! and burtons response is priceless.
Oh the irony. American Woman came about because of a broken guitar string.
@@camerondempster4147 you know you history.
FABULOUS ….
Everyone on stage looks like they are genuinely having fun
Fabulosos viejos guerreros del rock. Bravooooo
Saw them live 5 times, 4 at the CNE and once at SarsFest. The crowds always loved them.
This totally fit the bill for me, so many memories from this song!😊
Placer total de escuchar a Guess Who! me volvieron a aquellos años que todo era rock....todo era maravilloso. Gracias
When a song makes a one legged girl get up and dance, ya know it's good!
Hey the Guess Who 👍🎶❤️😊😄 the Blues !
I was thinking this earlier today, could you imagine if this song was released now, if it would be even released at all. The cancel culture would have a field day. Of course during that era, when this song was released, a lot of non-American artists had a lot say about our country, but that didn't stop them from performing and often times living here...
That said
Randy's guitar solo has to be one of the greatest I've ever seen, the best part was when his guitar string broke and he kept playing and then he switched guitars without much notice, if I didn't see it for myself I would have never known. Burt Cummings is extremely talented and his voice hasn't lost any pitch at all, plus he is a very talented musician in his right
Oh FFS ... cancel culture? That's what you think of with this performance ... come on.
outstanding . American rockers. still got it .
@@John-fq6nd there from Canada
OMG, the memories ❤
Pretty awesome in the city where it all began! It was a great place to grow up in… so much musical talent…so much talent…the Royal Winnipeg Ballet; opera; The Manitoba Theatre Centre; and so much more! Pretty awesome…did I forget the Blue Bombers; the Jets; and the fabulous baseball park at the Forks?
Proud to be a lad from the ‘peg ( Transcona)
One of the most iconic riffs in rock and roll
Now that would have been something to see live ,, WOW!
Incredible performances
This is one of the most amazing things ever!
Guau! Que guitarrista !! Que tremenda banda , vea esto la juventud 2024 , pura música !🎼🎶🎵y que voz la de Burton , está fresca nítida , el tiempo le resbala😊
One of the absolutely greatest bands period
1972 live at the.paramount. Best version but this is a close second 😊
So does this American woman ❤
a timeless classic
Great upload! Nice and clear.✌️
Excellent!
Great Canadian band
Cummings its a Genius!: singer (some the best historical rock voice, ever), and play :guitarr, harmonic and piano, he is a genius... greetings from Chile...
That's just a blast to watch Trucking awesome
Saw these guys with Steppenwolf in the winter of 85 in Boston. Steppenwolf was the headliner and they were great, but The Guess Who was by far the better show. These guys were so good. American Woman live was one of the best performances of over 30 concerts I have seen in my life. I saw the early versions of Zappa, Stones, JTull, ELP, CSN, Neil, Elton, Allman Bros, Deep Purple, Yes, BOC, and Santana, to name a few and that show in 85 was right up there with the best.
Lets not forget mcdougle Wallace and Peterson freaking. Guess who legends 😊
I gotta tell ya folks. I saw these guys in 1972 with original band members and saw Randy Bachman do a solo with his freakin drum sticks like I just watched in this video. I still talk about to my buddies… I witnessed greatness that night and I’ll never forget it! All at the Toledo Sports Arena which no longer exists!
really did you see that in 72.... Bachman played a final show with the band and then exited the band in May 1970; his relations with Cummings had deteriorated and his recent conversion to Mormonism caused dissatisfaction with the band's rock 'n' roll lifestyle.[15] Bachman later formed the successful hard rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive.[40]
I Guess it Was this Band and Guys I saw in The Gulden Nugget, Las Vegas, January or February 2014.
Easy going And A Ver Ver Good Performance of The Guess Who!
Thanks a A Lot Guys!
Extraordinaria actuación
Outstanding
Great stuff 😎
Im a 31 year old metal head. My favorite solo of all time is Dime Bag's in Domination, but Ill be damned holy hell Mr. Bachman...that was incredible.
They are awesome!!
Blues jam ends at 6:00, when the actual song begins.
This is the best version of this song hands down that slow burning blues at the beginning
They always put on a heck of a show.
Fantastic Song by a Fantastic Band!👍👍👍💃💃💃❤️❤️❤️
Wish i was there!
Still Timeless
Simplicity at it's finest
J'adoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee loveeeeeeeeeeeee super ....
The voice of rock......
Wonderful
I saw them in Erie Pennsylvania in 2001 they rocked!
I was only 11 years old back then!!!!!😢
