good rule of thumb for headphones is look around for a pair you would like and can afford and then look for at least 3 reviews on that product with at least one being negative and gauge from there but this is coming from someone who obsesses over headphones so you might not care as much lmao

Something that you didn't mention is that in the US, one of the biggest product placers is the US Army. Any war movie in which you see actual military gear being used has been approved by whichever branch of the American Armed Forces loaned it to them. The best example I can think of is Top Gun: Maverick, in which the navy had actual recruiting booths set up outside the theatres in which it was playing.

A couple of months ago in the computer tech corner of RUclips/journalism, a smaller RUclips channel was suddenly not recieving review units from NVIDIA (marked leading graphics card producer) and after reaching out to them they perhaps made it a bit too obvious that this was because they didn't like the reviews. This story blew up as a big name reported on it and hashly critisized the company for doing this to indirectly pressure other reviewers and journalists not to give honest reviews. Due to the backlash they had to retract their statement and promise to continue to send review units to that RUclipsr. It didn't really solve the root problem, but it was at least encoraging to see other reviewers standing up and actually making a difference.
If RUclipsrs transition their ads well or had good ad placement, I won't ever use ad blocker for them or avoid the ad. It shows they actually care and know how to edit well.

In Japan, almost every single show on TV has an ad roll halfway through. Before the station's ads, there will be a lady (always the same one, for some reason) who says "this show/drama was brought to you by Coca-Cola, KAO, other sponsors"
That happens with Chinese TV too!! Sometimes some variety show would make a five second disclaimer before the show saying the show is sponsored by xyz
In romania or any tv channel will just interrupt whatever you've been watching after 1 hour and plays 30 minites worth lf ads

Something that you didn't mention is that in the US, one of the biggest product placers is the US Army. Any war movie in which you see actual military gear being used has been approved by whichever branch of the American Armed Forces loaned it to them. The best example I can think of is Top Gun: Maverick, in which the navy had actual recruiting booths set up outside the theatres in which it was playing.
They aren't that big and it's quite rare for actual DOD resources

They are reviewing it (and the gambling act in general) so there's a reasonable chance we see regulation come in at some point

A couple of months ago in the computer tech corner of RUclips/journalism, a smaller RUclips channel was suddenly not recieving review units from NVIDIA (marked leading graphics card producer) and after reaching out to them they perhaps made it a bit too obvious that this was because they didn't like the reviews. This story blew up as a big name reported on it and hashly critisized the company for doing this to indirectly pressure other reviewers and journalists not to give honest reviews. Due to the backlash they had to retract their statement and promise to continue to send review units to that RUclipsr. It didn't really solve the root problem, but it was at least encoraging to see other reviewers standing up and actually making a difference.
