Recently I ran into your channel. I had this on a 6.7-7.1 scale. I agree with you that the viscosity is really lacking but still a great wine to come home after a day at work and just want to have a good night's sleep after some pizza and wine.

I agree, it's a solid budget wine! I recently reviewed the Kirkland Signature Toscana which I found to be very similar in style to Chianti (both slightly different Sangiovese based blends). It's around $5 more but it's a good step up in quality in my opinion. One to try if you haven't already! Cheers 🍷

It felt like you were being generous with the 7 point score. Thanks for the insight.

Value played a big part in the score. I have to keep reminding myself how cheap some of these wines are! It's a nice wine but one of the weaker Kirkland Signature bottles that I've had recently. The KS Toscana is similar in style but better (and $5 more)

The 2019 vintage was way better which I still have a bottle of. I've already had one bottle before. They also came out with a 2019 Kirkland Signature Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for $17.99.

I think I must keep just missing the the other KS Chianti! It's one of been wanting to try for a long time. Hopefully, catch it soon 🙏
