Perfect simple instructional video! Been using Plantronics for years and just upgraded to this one. I don't think there is a better one on the market, at least not currently. I had read some of the reviews on this new version and there were some saying it is not as comfortable or trouble while wearing glasses and or ball cap. Not me, if I'm not thinking about it, i don't even notice that I'm wearing it, but that's just me.
Got to love these slick promotional guides, I've got two phones tried a number of ways to pair nothing happens. Thankfully I didn't buy it, not my money otherwise I would have sent it back.
Sorry to hear you had trouble pairing this headset. We have pairing videos for both mobile phones and to the USB dongle. If that still doesn't work downloading Poly Hub and checking for a firmware update can be helpful!
Plantronics got it right with the new 5200. The charging case and ability to use a micro-USB is brilliant. Much better than the previous magnetic "cup" for the standard Voyager. This headset is worth the money.
So, Ive used this for 24hrs and overrall its good. The only complaint I have is voice answering. When I say "answer" it says "Call rejected" or it wont answer at all. If I use the call button to answer it works well.
Good video. Figures, the 1 thing I'm having a issue, is not shown or discussed. When hanging up with someone, I have to hit the button 5 times, before it hands up. Any way to fix this??
Are there ear pieces that you can put into your ear for this?? The ones that came with the product is no good when you are outside working in and there is a lot of background noise.
What is the best why to charge my Voyager 5200? I just purchased it and i charged it for the first time with my iphone's wall adaptor. Just got the charging case , it does not seem to get a full charge
So I have the UC , but when I have my mobile device connected and I’m also streaming music using it- if I get any type of alert on my PC, or if I just get off a Zoom, the headset won’t switch its source audio back to the Mobile device. It will stay “engaged” (blue light on dongle). And then I cannot use my headset with my phone again until I remove my dongle from the PC to disconnect the PC. What do I do?

I just got this device and there is no way to get an audible report of my headset battery status when connected to my iphone unless I turn it off and on again. Instructions say to press the "Call" button to hear battery status but that does not work. It also suggests doing a sensor reset and that didn't fix the issue. Seems like a bug that needs to be fixed.

I love my Plantronics Voyager - but I took the removeable rubber piece that goes in the ear off to clean it and now its loose and doesn't fit right on the device. Help?!!?

I just bought my new voyager 5200 headset. It's default language is Mandarin. When i try to change it asks for firmware update. But this update is Failing both on Mobile(IOS/Android) and Windows (10/7). Pretty annoying and not good support from Plantronics also. Can anyone help?
Why are you still using press and hold to activate Siri or Cortana when you now have a dedicated button? I just want to press to activate. There are already enough delays with everything. It's just totally unnecessary and annoying.

I know. I feel the same way. But I just went to the cheap Dollar Tree store, and bought one of those cheapy $1.00 "side bags" that you can wear as a tiny purse and I put it in there to walk around the house. Problem solved (lol). (i know...but kinda inconvenient, but it works.)

Basheer Puzhakkalakath I could connect! Important: You need to download first the PLT App from AppStore or PlayStore. It’s probably you won’t find this device on your Bluetooth list when you download it first time. I did these steps: 1/ Turn on your phone Bluetooth 2/ Switch on your PLT (Power on, Battery high, talk time X hours) 3/ Very important: Keep pressed the call button until you can see it on your Bluetooth devices (it took to me 5-7 seconds approximately). if you push it but don’t hold it, it won’t be visible. 4/ Automatically it will direct you to PLT App and will do a sound test.
You don't have to but it's helpful. You can download Poly Hub which gives you access to extra features and updates so that your headset is always working great.
In regarding Plantronics 5200. Keep the 4 mics, DSP, HD calls technology. Add Bluetooth 5, a performant up-to-date battery, a better looking & slimmer back of the ear part design (so it doesn't have to look like an oversized hearing aid device), and this headset could still lead the segment of mono bluetooth headsets, in 2021... Design is very important also. It doesn't have to be bulky... But sleek and refined in every detail. The new logo on BlueParrot headset (M300 XT), it looks like a bird has been electrocuted...

I can pair, I can answer, I can mute, I figured out how to put it on. The only thing I can't figure out is how to make a call? And the owners manual doesn't even tell you. Can anyone help me figure this out? I have the Plantronics 5200 Bluetooth Headset.
You can re call last number by double tapping the button or instruct siri google etc by pressing button and then when activated, ask 'call Paul' or whoever you want to call as listed in your phone book on your phone..it'll then dial the number.
During the conversation, an echo can be heard through the receiver, my voice is heard in the receiver. The microphone listens to what I am saying and in addition to transmitting the sound to the phone, it transmits it to the loudspeaker in the handset in real time. So speaking to the microphone, I can hear myself in the earpiece loudly. That's exactly what I can accept at any BT handset, I did not encounter such a phenomenon. What is definitely a nuisance for me as a Voyager Legend handset is that when you talk in the open field when the wind blows, the wind noise pick up the microphone and loudly reproduce it in the loudspeaker straight into my ear. Which makes it impossible for me to talk, because I can not hear what the person I'm calling to says to me. Interestingly, the person I'm talking to does not hear this wind and can not hear the noise, just clean my words because DSP blocks noise. But why the DSP chip and microphones cause the wind to strengthen, the noise I hear very loudly ?! It follows that there is a software error or are these headphones supposed to work? So the microphone did not reduce the noise but only amplified it and directed it directly to the ear of the person who used the Plantronics Voyager handset and the person we talked to did not hear the noise of the wind. It seems to me that this is a software error used in the handset, which unnecessarily redirects and amplifies in real time the signal from the microphone to the speaker, and then only after sending the filtration to the phone. For sure, this action results in additional energy loss in the handset and reduced performance. Because why should I hear myself and hear the gigantic wind that prevents me from talking because I can not hear anything. My interlocutor hears me but during the wind I can not hear him !!!
I install these in our office and the consensus is many of us forget we are wearing it, myself included. Voice activation in the bathroom can be a bit nerve racking when your hands are tied up.
I bought one of these things which cost over 80 Euro. During the first 4 - 6 months it failed, failure characteristics were: Loss of bluetooth connection, difficulty in reconnecting, tunnel voice. reverberation and voice loss during conversations. Still under warranty I sent it to The Nederland for repair. They replaced it with a reconditioned one..........YES a SECOND HAND ONE. This also failed within the first week with the same issues. Now, 5 days later they are asking what the failure characteristics were...........RIDICULOUS Perhaps they should mention in their warranty papers that if the device fails it will be replaced with a SECOND HAND ONE???
And if you have the legend magnetic cup charger, if you trim away the sides of the cup, you can use that charger on this headset. I had my legend replaced on warranty with this. Like the headset better but missed the magnetic charger. Now I have both.
Don't be a dummy like me and assume it comes with the dongle which is mandatory for this device to work with a PC even if the PC has native bluetooth. Tore my place half apart looking for it thinking I dropped it somewhere, until I realized it is a separate $100 purchase. This thing would be perfect if it worked with PC bluetooth. It sort of does, but it's pretty wonky. I may go for the dongle and the case, but that's an additional $150.
We have a ton of people contacting us about this. Although the headset may work via bluetooth pairing without the dongle, it is way better with the USB dongle. Almost all headsets we've tested on our channel will need a USB dongle to work properly on a computer.
@@HeadsetAdvisor sounds like pretty much par for the course then. It works ok without the dongle, you just lose ability to mute, and have a short range.
andre wxr if they have Bluetooth, I don't see why not, but there are way better headsets for gaming. I like to have stereo sound for gaming. For using ur phone on the go though, the 5200 is hard to beat imo.
I could swear I just went through this whole thing and it didn't show you how to do a voice command call? Are they kidding,..does it really require A 3rd party service like google to make a voice command call
I got one and my other Plantronics was louder and my wifes same had to get me a Blue parrot I hate when these things are not loud enough I drive a semi truck and with all the new safety devices in these trucks too much noise cant here nothing
I had the same problem, with my blue parrot head set, when you are wearing it, with it on, turn the volume up all the way on your phone, the same volume controls, on your phone the controls your ringer volume, it worked with my phone, an iphone 8..
A lot of truck drivers tell us the same thing. Although the 5200 is a nice headset, it's not best for driving a semi. I'd recommend you look at the Poly Voyager 104 or the BlueParrott 450-XT. These are both designed specifically for truck drivers. Great volume, fantastic noise canceling mics, and long battery life.

Sucks i got one with the case/dock and that was the first to fail. Then the earpice sensor is a royal pain in the ass i swear i got so mad i threw it out the damn window.

i have used Plantronics for many years, I am not sure what has happened but both my Legend and Voyager 5200 have become less reliable. My legend will no longer pair and my 5200 has excessive static on my end and sounds robotic on the other. This product line has lost quality

Poly headsets are complete junk and Poly has terrible support. I'm on my third RMA with Poly in less than 18 months. Its been nearly two months since I returned my last faulty unit and it's not been replaced or refunded yet. Prior warranty claims have also taken literally months to resolve.
I don't recommend this product anymore, it doesn't work with Iphone with IOS 13, during the call I have many times disconnected or I can't not answer the call by button or voice. I saw many people have the same problem and now I have this problem too. Now I need to look to buy other headset.😔
I got it today as a birthday gift. Was very happy until I realized that it comes WITHOUT any kind of charging possibility. Just with crapy microUSB cable for nothing. Complete disaster!!! Charging "cup" from my old Legend doesn't fit, obviously... Of course you can search and get a damn CHARGING CASE for same price as device it self cost. Just a little waiting for 16 days. Damn, you have to be kidding........ Never ever will get something with that kind of surprise at your birthday

I agree. The Explorer 505 that I lost had both a tab that slipped inside the ear, and a springy clear loop that went behind the ear. Together, it felt very secure. This earpiece is bulkier and heavier, and is retained only half as well. They don't have very good product designers and engineers, to take a step backward like this.
Love this ear piece, I use a walker so it helps so much with hands free! Highly recommended! Great product!

£9 buys another set of tips, in 3 sizes, but with foam covers. Might help to use e.g. small+foam, instead of mid size?

It should, in Windows 10 Sound Panel > Recording devices the mic appears as the Plantronics BT600.

During the first 4 - 6 months it failed, failure characteristics were: Loss of bluetooth connection, difficulty in reconnecting, tunnel voice. reverberation and voice loss during conversations. Still under warranty I sent it to The Nederland for repair. They replaced it with a reconditioned one..........YES a SECOND HAND ONE. This also failed within the first week with the same issues. Now, 5 days later they are asking what the failure characteristics were...........RIDICULOUS Perhaps they should mention in their warranty papers that if the device fails it will be replaced with a SECOND HAND ONE???

And if you have the legend magnetic cup charger, if you trim away the sides of the cup, you can use that charger on this headset. I had my legend replaced on warranty with this. Like the headset better but missed the magnetic charger. Now I have both.
Don't be a dummy like me and assume it comes with the dongle which is mandatory for this device to work with a PC even if the PC has native bluetooth. Tore my place half apart looking for it thinking I dropped it somewhere, until I realized it is a separate $100 purchase. This thing would be perfect if it worked with PC bluetooth. It sort of does, but it's pretty wonky. I may go for the dongle and the case, but that's an additional $150.
We have a ton of people contacting us about this. Although the headset may work via bluetooth pairing without the dongle, it is way better with the USB dongle. Almost all headsets we've tested on our channel will need a USB dongle to work properly on a computer.
@@HeadsetAdvisor sounds like pretty much par for the course then. It works ok without the dongle, you just lose ability to mute, and have a short range.
Year later you can get the USB, the charging case and the headset for 50 bucks via eBay. Worth it?

if they have Bluetooth, I don't see why not, but there are way better headsets for gaming. I like to have stereo sound for gaming. For using ur phone on the go though, the 5200 is hard to beat imo.

Theyre in eng on default. But if you are having trouble, you can just download the Plantronics Hub app and change it from there.

You will need the BT600 Adapter for it to work properly on a computer. We made a pairing video about this as well.
I could swear I just went through this whole thing and it didn't show you how to do a voice command call? Are they kidding,..does it really require A 3rd party service like google to make a voice command call
I got one and my other Plantronics was louder and my wifes same had to get me a Blue parrot I hate when these things are not loud enough I drive a semi truck and with all the new safety devices in these trucks too much noise cant here nothing
I had the same problem, with my blue parrot head set, when you are wearing it, with it on, turn the volume up all the way on your phone, the same volume controls, on your phone the controls your ringer volume, it worked with my phone, an iphone 8..
A lot of truck drivers tell us the same thing. Although the 5200 is a nice headset, it's not best for driving a semi. I'd recommend you look at the Poly Voyager 104 or the BlueParrott 450-XT. These are both designed specifically for truck drivers. Great volume, fantastic noise canceling mics, and long battery life.

Sucks i got one with the case/dock and that was the first to fail. Then the earpice sensor is a royal pain in the ass i swear i got so mad i threw it out the damn window.

i have used Plantronics for many years, I am not sure what has happened but both my Legend and Voyager 5200 have become less reliable. My legend will no longer pair and my 5200 has excessive static on my end and sounds robotic on the other.

Poly headsets are complete junk and Poly has terrible support. I'm on my third RMA with Poly in less than 18 months. Its been nearly two months since I returned my last faulty unit and it's not been replaced or refunded yet. Prior warranty claims have also taken literally months to resolve.

I don't recommend this product anymore, it doesn't work with Iphone with IOS 13, during the call I have many times disconnected or I can't not answer the call by button or voice. I saw many people have the same problem and now I have this problem too. Now I need to look to buy other headset.😔

I got it today as a birthday gift. Was very happy until I realized that it comes WITHOUT any kind of charging possibility. Just with crapy microUSB cable for nothing. Complete disaster!!! Charging "cup" from my old Legend doesn't fit, obviously... Of course you can search and get a damn CHARGING CASE for same price as device it self cost. Just a little waiting for 16 days. Damn, you have to be kidding........ Never ever will get something with that kind of surprise at your birthday

I agree. The Explorer 505 that I lost had both a tab that slipped inside the ear, and a springy clear loop that went behind the ear. Together, it felt very secure. This earpiece is bulkier and heavier, and is retained only half as well. They don't have very good product designers and engineers, to take a step backward like this.
The ear tip does not go all the way inside the ear. This is garbage
