felt this video so hard when you mentioned feeling like you were giving up something so good by moving back home. just know that you’re not giving up anything, just moving onto a new chapter that will have it’s own new joys even if it’s not in NYC ❤️ that doesn’t make the transition any easier, but you do have many people (me!!) who are excited to follow along!

Remember that the idea that NYC is the pinnacle place to be is a social construct. People have created this idea as truth and the collective accept it as truth because it’s marketed well. Just like influencing! 🤓 People are different and different things make them happy. NYC is not the best place to be for everyone even if “they” tell you it is. Thrilled you are moving back to Florida! 💜

It's your choice if you listen to those people that say that a city or country the best place to be. It's also your choice to move to the big city. Don't move to a city you know you're not going to be happy in.

Wow I moved to Manhattan from Miami, FL in 2019 and within 2 years I also lost my dad, experienced the pandemic, and ultimately decided to move to CA in February 2021. I saw that there was nothing for me in NY and it wasn't matching my lifestyle preferences or my personality. Best decision I ever made. I now have upgraded apartments, live in the perfect mix of city and nature, live closer to family, doubled my salary, and made dozens of friends here- including a bunch of neighbors and store owners. This time last year I was struggling and like you said, you'll look back on this and think wow what a time, and you'll treasure how far you've come

Being in the real estate world, you did the right thing by not getting a co-signer. You are right, you would be jointly and severally liable for everything. Your apartment is beautiful and will rent quickly. You are very brave for moving to New York in the first place. Sending you good vibes that you will find a beautiful, tranquil place to live in Florida.

‘They were forced to live with the life that they built for themselves and they decided either I like it or I don’t like what I built for myself and they’ve decided to change it.’
WOW. Talk about a wake up moment. I actually burst into tears when you said that as I realised I don’t like the life I’ve built for myself and I’m sick of being sad and moping and playing the victim. Ive been sitting here for 10 minutes thinking about every tiny aspect of my life and whether it stays or goes .. I’m ready to be the real me, to live the life I want to live regardless if other peoples thoughts or direction. I WANT MORE. I DESERVE MORE.
Now I’m gonna finish the video .. but what wisdom you squished into 9 mins! Thank you Renee. Good luck. I’m rooting for you.

I'm at the other side of the ocean (literally, 'cause I live in Brazil), I'm 32 and still facing this kind of indecision about what I'm going to do next, if my choices are based on what I want for my life or if I really don't have any idea. But every single day I try to remind to myself: trust your gut. I really believe on intuition. Wishing you good lucky 💜

I feel like you moving to nyc was a chapter that felt right at the moment back before things happened, and now it's time to turn the page and start a new chapter, in Florida. You are so strong and I really admire you (and the way you think, if that makes sense?)
I feel like beautiful new things will come your way in your new chapter and I'm excited to see what you chose to share with us.
I start with school in October after "resting" for two years because of my mental health. It is scary to start a new chapter, but at the same time it is so so exciting. And since it's fall, which is my favorite season, I feel more than ready to finally start doing something new and working on my dreams, especially after feeling a bit "stuck" lately. Everything will work out.❤️

Give yourself a big hug, and permission to feel uncertainty for awhile. It takes time to work through the loss of a parent. Some good advice I once received was to avoid making any major life or financial decisions on the heels of grief. I love that you're taking time to pray and connect with the life wisdom of the Bible. Something tells me that you'll make it through the current stresses. I'm rooting for you!

honestly as someone who spent the ages 25-28 having the same quarter life crisis. job-wise, relationships and just life-wise in general one thing I've learned is just to trust my damn gut and not overthink things or let my ego get in the way of doing what's right for me. I'm 31 now and literally the last 2 years have been the best life I've been living and I'm so happy. Its not perfect but I feel like I'm finally on MY path and things finally just started clicking into place the last 2 years. I decided to go back to school, am in a very healthy relationship, I finally moved out of my grandmothers and paid off old school and my car debt etc. and can now live with my own privacy and be an ADULT lol. But seriously I'm so happy for you that you are moving somewhere that you know is the right choice for you. Keep going and keep trusting your gut and heart. Everyone's path is different and can take a longer or shorter time to get to where you are meant to be.

Everytime I feel like I don't know what I'm doing and I have to take a big risk and make a choice and I'm scared it will be the wrong one. I think of my friend who`s mom decided to turn her life completely around and become a doctor when she was 45 because she regretted the education and work path she had made 20+ years ago.
Very few choices in life are permanent. Very few choices are ones you can't go back on. Just because something didn't work out at this point in life, doesn't mean it won't work out at a later point if you try again.
Life isn't over until it's over. And up until then, you always have the option to switch things up and try something new, or try something old again.

When I was in my 20s I met my now husband (on a cruise) whose dream was to become a musician in NYC. We started dating while he was there and then got married. He finally gave up his dream to become a musician as we were starting to move into a different phase in our lives so we made the decision to move back to the Midwest and start our family. My husband has never looked back and regretted that decision. Bottom line is things change, what we want changes and that’s ok. Good luck to you with your move.

Thought I’d stop taking gap years and study again but the course I wanted got full not that I was sure on it anyway.. basically I’ve got nothing figured out rn but I’m doing my best and taking leaps of faith is something to be proud of.. removing yourself from situations that negatively impact your mental health is so important and despite being job and course less I’m glad I’m out of that environment

I didn't realise you were 27 Renee, I always thought you were 24-25. Honestly going through a new chapter brings a lot of uncertainty and questioning your decisions but your gut will tell you what to do. What I've learnt is you will never 100% know, you just need to think about it and place one foot forward. Definitely pray about it and let God guide you. I love the way you spoke about the Bible and how you study it. I'm currently studying the Bible being a Christian myself and I love to get tips and you're the one who got me hooked on Elevation Church in 2020, thank you! Good luck with everything, don't feel like you need to know everything, it's never like that. I'm excited for your next chapter, I definitely agree with you New York was one hard chapter of your life and now it's time for another chapter. Sending you love from Australia 🇦🇺💙

Wanted to say you just look like a huge relief has been lifted off of you, I see Renee again, the one from Florida(been watching u for yearsss 😊) Yes it’s scary to make such a huge change yet again, but I think u will be so much more happier again. I really can see your light shining through nice and bright. Also thank you for the recs for the Bible stuff, I have been wanting to start learning more about it but have a hard time understanding the wording and I think that Bible u showed and the RUclips channel will help so much! 🥰

27 was a super weird time for me as well; I think it's just one of those ages where you're in a state of limbo because you're no longer 25 and yet you still feel far from 30, so it's just overall a really weird space to be in. I had a full on breakdown when I turned 27 haha! Now I'm 30 and I feel like things make a lot more sense to me now. Did I wish I had my shit together at this age like I thought I would when I was younger? Obviously, but I also hold a lot more patience and kindness for myself to appreciate the journey, and it's like the moment you turn 30 your mind magically receives all the information from everyone else in the world who is 30+ that none of them have any idea what the fuck they're doing either. And THAT is a very nice feeling to have!

I still remember the video you teased you were moving and leaving Florida! And I never ever would’ve guessed NYC. And while I’ve loved all your vids in the city, I miss Florida Renee. The car vlogs, the lake walks and field workouts. You deserve to go back home and be with friends and family, and be the happiest version of yourself 💗💗💗

NYC is a tough place to live.
    I lived there from 2008-2015.
When I left, it was sad, but I never looked back.
I'm back home and loving life.
I don't miss the city at all.
I had fun there, but like you, I had the toughest time in my life.
My boyfriend is there now for a conference.
He lived in the city for 30 years.
He moved out last year back to his Ranch in California.
Lots of people who never thought they'd leave the city left for good.
    Interesting times for sure.
    Florida is where it's at.
Lots more action and opportunity there.

It's crazy how similar what you're going through and what i'm going through are. I'm 27 and I lost my father this year and I was extremely close with him. We were planning on getting a family farm together with my boyfriend and his mom. I'm living in Connecticut near NYC and me and my boyfriend just KNOW that we have to get out of here. Its too crowded and high anxiety. We just went on a road trip through Pennsylvania and we're going to buy land and get away. Wish I could do it with my dad too, but I know he'd be proud of me. Anyway, I think the whole world is going through an awakening honestly. Things will get better. You'll figure it out. Don't doubt yourself, you can make good decisions. I promise.

I just saw a TikTok about how 27 is an extremely formative and life changing year for people. Stevie Nicks wrote Landslide when she was 27. It's something to do with having your priorities change after your 20s and re-evaluating what you want next

I feel sooo similar and never expected to see someone else going through a similar situation. I didn’t have a death in my family (I’m so sorry about your dad), but I had a big life-changing event. I was living in a horrible apartment within my home state, and the life event sent me into a deep depression. So, it was just like everything was horrible. I finally moved (a month ago!) and ended up in a better place. I can’t believe I made it through this past year. But yeah, also the sense of “Okay, what do I do next??” is extremely daunting. I’ll stop rambling but wowwww, you and I are having a similar cycle. Cheers to eventually seeing the other side 💜

I left NYC on November pf last year and felt the exact same way. I moved back home to the apartment I always wanted and I met an incredible man who is now my boyfriend oddly enough he’s originally from VT and moved to Puerto Rico this year. We’ve been going back and forth from PR to VT. I go every once in a while to NY and I’ll get emotional but it was a good move overall!!

I relate to everything you’ve said. I moved it NYC 6 months before the pandemic and I’m considering moving. My great grandmother who I hadn’t seen in years due to the pandemic and lack of enough PTO died last August. I will say I met an amazing man but unfortunately our relationship is contingent on me living and staying in NYC due to him being born and raised here. I’ve just been praying and I think it’s Time for me to leave

Not even halfway through the video and girl!!! I’m so happy that you have decided to move to Florida.. I started watching you when you lived in Florida.. and I seriously fell in love with your videos. Move and change is so hard. I was away living in chicago for 5 years for school and I recently moved back home. As much as my ego didn’t want me to move back home, I knew God was calling me home. God works. Faith works. People are counting on you Renee-without you knowing it. I’m seriously looking forward to your Florida content. I’m applying to two dental schools in Florida soon and I’m so excited. Keep doing you, and continue to let the Lord guide you. So happy for you 💖
