Alone time is so important. I wake up at 4:45am every day to get alone time before my family wakes up. I journal, do yoga and enjoy the peace. When I was in high school we had a state of the art gym with every machine and we had a whole mandatory trimester on how to use the weight machines. I’m so grateful for that time. That was in the 90’s when schools still took PE seriously. 😅 love the blog Renee. Your year is starting off great!

Definitely Florida if you’re wanting an opinion. More freedom, less expensive, sun, and family is close! I really don’t see NY going back to it’s normal for another few years and it probably will never be the same.
Personally I think it will take at least another year (or 2) time for NYC to fully recover. I love it here and don’t think I could ever leave but I understand about wanting to be near family, especially now ❤️

I get so exhausted physically and psychologically when moving but the satisfaction when it all comes together is wonderful. I just need to touch up my rugs with a rug doctor machine and take alllll my curtains down and wash them and hem them since I have procrastinated on that for over a year but I need to wait until spring when it's warmer and I'm not feeling like doing that now tbh! I would love to hear more about other possible apartments. A space may seem to big BUT it would give you more of a way to separate work and leisure into zones in your place if you wanted almost a separate office area away from your bedroom and kitchen, etc maybe?

When I first started strength training, I was so nervous because I kept thinking everyone was staring or would laugh/make fun of me in case I was using an equipment incorrectly. But then, no one really cares because they’re honestly too busy working out or just looking at their phones lol. However, one thing that really helped was going with my guy friends who knew and helped me train. Eventually, I built up the courage to work out on my own in that area. Love ya Renee ❤️

I feel like, though it won’t be for a while, I am sure that NYC will be back to normal, or at least active and exciting again at some point, and for someone like me, who is generally quiet and laid back, but dreams of living in the city, it feels like the perfect time to move there. I think that it is almost like baby steps, lol, to get used to navigating before being dropped into the craziness, because I have visited several times, and stayed in Midtown because I was there for business and didn’t have time to explore, and I fell in love with it, but the energy also terrifies me, haha. If only, though, I won’t be able to move there for a few years...
A little hack I like is buying frozen pre chopped herbs like coriander and ginger etc. Adds so much yummy flavour without much effort. Makes eating well so easy and delicious x
I totally agree. I think Florida fits her lifestyle much more. New York is not the place to be if you have anxiety or poor mental health (not saying she has poor mental health but she definitely has anxiety). With the prices low, she can get a gorgeous apartment in Florida too and since her man is still interviewing he can either find a remote job or find work in Florida. Win-win. Also, beachhhhhhhhhhh.

In;the apartment tours you did, did they suggest the prices will bounce back to normal? Like you move in for 2k and then upon the next lease offer it’s back to 3k haha

@@Winnychima They can raise rent as much as they please and they can also lower it depending on the market, but only once your lease is about to end. When the time comes, you should def try to renegotiate your lease with your landlord if you think you're overpaying. Recently, I've heard of people being offered lower rents if they renew their lease because the pandemic is making it difficult to find new renters. hope this helped

I have a Super Puff, it’s so warm and fluffy. I like it just as much as my Canada Goose. In my opinion you should move back to Florida, NY isn’t for everyone. I’m a New Yorker so I’m used to the fast paced but, it can be too much if your not accustomed to that. Whatever you decide do what’s best for you , not anyone else.

most apartments are not rent stabilised if thats what you are implying.
