  • Greetings! I have been wanting to cook ribs in this pressure cooker ever since I got it and tonight is the night! These ribs were so easy to make and I could have cooked twice as many in the pot as I did, but I cooked two full racks of ribs and then brushed them with sauce and baked them in the oven for about 15 minutes to get the sauce baked on. I used my homemade "Almost Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce" You can find that here: bit.ly/1js1HTp
I have an Elite, 10 quart pressure cooker that I purchased from HSN. I don't know if they have them back in stock yet, but you can keep checking over on their website.
These ribs were simply to die for! Now Rick and the girls are avid rib fans, me, not so much, I can take them or leave them. Mostly because I don't like the messy eating procedure. However, these ribs were amazing and we loved every bite!
I hope you will give this method a try if you have a pressure cooker and if you don't I hope you will consider getting one soon, you will be so happy that you did!
I hope you try this and I hope you love it!
    Happy Eating!

New subscriber as of June 26, 2023:>As I watched this video, it reminded me when a family member was giving me instructions of how to make ribs in a pressure cooker & said "Just season the ribs, put them in the pressure cooker & FORGET ABOUT THEM if you want the ribs falling off the bone" and I replied: "If I FORGET ABOUT them, my home will burn down & I won't be able to try them at all." 🤣🤣❤

I bought 2 slabs of ribs today for the first time. Tomorrow I will be making them just like this. I've always been afraid to cook ribs but with my pressure cooker and your fantastic instructions I know I can't go wrong. Thanks!

Noreen, as a huge rib fan who use to pride himself of ribs being done on the grill, I must admit your way will probably now be the technique of choice. Thank you for your videos, they are really educational and demonstrate to the point that anyone can get into the kitchen and create some tasty magic!

Noreen you are awesome! I just got the new 8 qt. Elite last week and just got the time to use it for the first time today. I followed your instructions, step by step and now I am enjoying the most delicious and tender ribs I have ever made myself. I'm gonna try to cook beans too after watching that video. Thank you and my family thanks you.

OMG OMG OMG!!!! This is now a new favorite for my family! I used apple juice (about a cup) and 1/2 cup of water, set timer for 15 minutes and natural pressure release. Put them in the oven like you did and they just fell off the bone! Not dry or stringy. Even my 7 year old grandson who is VERY pick loved them! Thank you so much!

I've been eagerly awaiting to try this recipe and tonight I was finally able to in my new electric pressure cooker. Although good, I'm not sure I'm in love with the infused apple cider flavor. I cooked mine for 20 mins and the meat was not falling off the bone, nor was it tough, it was perfect. Thanks for this quick and easy recipe!

Hi Noreen. Just wanted to comment on a wonderful method for cooking pork baby backs in the pressure cooker. I tried several methods I found online and none came out having my guests howling at the moon; that is until I found your method/video. It seemed so simple the first time I watched it that I found myself saying this can't possibly work. Noreen, I'm on my 4th dinner using your method and I have to give credit where credit is due. These come out perfect every time. It's Valentine's Day dinner for my love and he asked for what he calls "Noreen's Ribs". So hope you're having a great V day also and keep up the great work!

I have a pressure cooker - not the same kind as yours - mine is the old style with the metal gauge that you put over the vent and it sizzles when it reaches pressure, then you have to lower the heat to regulate the sizzler's sizzle. Anyway, I love pressure cookers. They are wonderful. And I've done my spare ribs and baby backs exactly the same way you do - first in the pressure cooker, then in the oven and boy do they turn out FANTASTIC! And the flavor you get from a pressure cooker is amazing! And they don't shrink. They stay plump and juicy.

    • @noreenskitchenchannel
      @noreenskitchenchannel  9 лет назад

You're gonna love it! This will certainly not take the place of your smoker, however you can faux "smoke" the ribs or even a small brisket in this as well. Just rub with a bit of liquid smoke and soy before you put on the rub. They put a rack in the bottom of the pressure cooker and put the meat on top of the rack. Put a bit of water along with the rest run off from the liquid smoke and soy. Then pressure cook as directed. Then finish in the oven with the BBQ sauce. It will be a nice option for when it is too cold to smoke outside. Enjoy!

But then the sauce is gross and runny. Not how ribs should be at all. The sauce must be baked on to create s beautiful bark.

Thanks for doing this video! I tried ribs in my PC once but made the epic fail of putting the sauce into the PC and ended up with exactly what you describe -- a watery mess! So now I will try again (even have some in my freezer). I like how you showed how you "stacked" them inside the cooker -- I wouldn't have thought of that. Now to get to the store to get some cider...yours look delicious!

Hi Noreen, I just got my first crock pot, and tried it out last night. Needless to say, although my hamburger casserole came out perfectly cooked, somewhere I lost all my flavor that I put in originally. Your tip to not put the bbq sauce in had a light bulb go on for me. Makes perfect sense, so thank you for that.... These ribs look scrumptous, and I believe this will be my next project in the pressure cooker. I am checking out a lot more of your recipes. You're way ahead of many of the other cooks that just toss stuff in the crock pot, and it comes out a watery mess. Glad I found you early on in my quest for easy cooking along with great flavor. :)

Boy, do your baby back ribs look delicious! I’m going to write this recipe down and try it! I love the Power Cooker. I’ve always been afraid to make baby back ribs ‘cause I don’t know what I’m doing. You made it seem soooo easy!!

Noreen, I've read through some of the questions people are asking you, but I do not see nothing similar to the question I have. Here it is. Your ribs look awesome and I have never been able to make the sauce be on the meat like yours. Is there a process on which you are applying your BBQ Sauce to make it thick and not dripping everywhere. And without burning your ribs from baking so long?

Here i am back again doing pc ribs. Last time i did spares and saw someone say 30 mins. I did that with natural release, they were fall off the bone mush in a bad way. This time i did spares again and did 20 mins with natural release. Theyre still in the pot 30 mins later because im taking my time and putting up xmas lights etc so no rush. Im hoping these are soo tender that you pick up 1/2 the rack and they just fall apart. At that point may as well have done pulled pork (which ive done in a pc) with great results btw.
