- It's time for my 2023 Christmas home tour! We're so happy to have you visit our home to see our cozy Christmas home decor. We love to decorate and have used lots of family treasures as decorations which creates a wonderful atmosphere as we remember those we love.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. However, I am so glad you have found a joyful way to honor her. Everything is so gorgeous. You do an amazing job.

Wow Rozanne! It's all so beautiful! Your decorating is such a wonderful way to work through your grief and honor your beloved Mother. It must have taken hours of work but it's all simply gorgeous!
You're right... it has been a wonderful way to work through it. It's almost like Mom is still here with me. It did take me quite a bit to decorate this year, but it was a labor of love. I just took my time and enjoyed it. So wonderful to hear from you!

Rosanne, your home looked like a model home out of some Christmas Home Decor magazine. I used to decorate similarly but as age and physical infirmities have come along, I have realized that I can make our home look Christmasy with MUCH LESS. Last year, I had one smaller tree, Xmas throw pillows & blankets in the CB living room , one centerpiece each for the dining room & kitchen tables, one crèche on the buffet & a wreath on the door. That’s it! Christmas simplified and so much less work.
It sounds like you’ve come up with a great decorating plan for yourself. That’s great!

Donna! I was just thinking about you the other day and hoping that you're doing well. I was so happy to see you pop up today. And yes, I am feeling so much better. I got Covid a couple of months ago and I got so sick my doctor got me Paxolid. I've since read that it has been successfully used for some folks with Long Covid because it kills some remaining virus. That has to be it for me, because I feel so much better now. Who knew? I'm not 100%, but man... I feel so much better and can do more, so I'll take it. Hope you have a Merry Christmas too!

So sorry about your Mom. It's June and I'm already determined that this year I'm going to really decorate for Christmas, so I'm planning now. Your style is what I like, but I'm in a neighborhood (development) where everyone decorates from Homegoods. I want to be brave enough to use some of the older things I have (like the oval portrait of my Grandparents). Love everything in your home. This is only my 2nd video, so I headed to your Christmas ones. I will now subscribe. Thank you for sharing.
I read your comment to my husband and he said that his very favorite Christmas decor tour of mine was the first one because I used all of my old decor. Very interesting. I’m thinking that sentimental wins the day for Christmas now. I’m going to go ahead and share a Christmas decor tour this year (tradition), but it will be interesting to see how much I tone it down from 2023. I already have some ideas. I’ll be using decor that I already own and family items. Go for using the family portrait!
@@TowardsASimpleLife The tree in my bedroom (4 ft. flocked cause no snow here in SC) has all of the old faded Shiny Brites from my parents and the Woolworth's cardboard nativity and figurines around it. Think I'll add bubble lights to it this year (got rid of the originals years ago cause they got too hot). Can't wait for this year's video tour!

Hi Rozanne! I just stumbled across your channels and I am so happy I did! I do so enjoy listening to you and seeing bits of your life. One quick question - the throw that you have on the back of the chair that you sometimes use in your opening, would you have a pattern you would be able to share?
I'm so glad you're here, Karen! It's such (good) luck that you found me! I wish I could give you the pattern to that throw. Isn't it wonderful? I bought it last year at Target and have continually used it since then. It works so well with that chair that it's found a permanent home. I've only successfully knitted one thing in my entire life because I have so much trouble dropping stitches. I think it's amazing when people can knit well. See you!
