Slow living isn’t a trend for me. It's a lifestyle I have embraced for years; I learned it from my mom and grandma. We always just took our time to enjoy the beauty of the everyday. I’m a romantic at heart, with a practical lifestyle approach to “keep it simple.” I grew up on a farm, which furthered my love of simplicity and back to the basics mindset.
We moved six months ago to our cozy cottage, and we are in the process of fixing it up. I strive to make our home cozy and inviting no matter what remodeling stage we are in. Making a home hygge and cozy is just a normal way of life for me, and I can’t imagine it any other way.

Hi Abby Jo! One of the best videos ever! Love the thrift store shoes and little glasses, “always have to look at yarn”. Same! I just finished the wedding gift for my bff’s daughter and new husband. I crocheted it with bobbles/their last name, hearts, and wedding date on it.
They are in IL so sent me a video of them opening it. They were overjoyed and it was so lovely to see them love it!
Before I had my first son of three this same friend gave me my baby shower, over 34 years ago.
And time goes on.

I don’t get home from work until after midnight and have been binge watching your old videos while trying to unwind after work. You were pregnant in some of the recent videos I have been watching making your granny’s chocolate pour and loved the one where you roasted pumpkin/squash to make a lovely soup. Your videos take me to a happy and relaxing place ❤ you have made every place you have lived in homey, beautiful and welcoming.

I can can certainly tell you I wouldn’t have the energy to pack right now. This month has been so busy flying here and going there. Its was lovely but I’m even having trouble just wanting to get up and dust. I did two rooms today and I’m already ready for a nap. Well, here I go to dust the dining room. I love late summer. It's a lovely, mellow time. We, too, are having cooler weather after a lot of high heat and humidity. It's blissful. I love that you make the time and the space to honor your afternoon tea/coffee time, and it's always a pleasure to see you and your daughter together in the kitchen. I can almost smell the cinnamon rolls! Nothing like a warm, homemade cinnamon roll. Like so many others have commented, this video is bittersweet. I will sorely miss your vlog and I wish you nothing but the best with all you do! Nothing beats a good cinnamon roll recipe, especially with a nice cup of coffee, or Earl grey tea.
My favourite go to cinnamon roll recipe is from an old Amish cookbook from Marcia Adams ( remember watching her before Food Network station from 1980’s and 90’s). It calls for mashed potatoes of all things and is very good, especially Christmas morning breakfast.

I finally broke down and bought a cheese slicer and it has really helped with those large blocks of cheese. Maybe once you move that could be something you might add to your kitchen. It's so nice seeing you and your journey this week.

I understand 💯where you head & heart are traveling to- my husband & I are completely in the same quandary. Even tho we only live an hour away there are so many times we wish we could just pop over & our son & family. Yes… we have been retired early for almost 14 years & with 5 kids their lives are constantly changing & growing. So… we want that change also! Certainly not as far as you lol but, just closer for sure!Best of luck on your new life & journey- you will never make a wrong decision being with family ❤

I really appreciate your cozy videos. I have been listening to older videos to help me sleep today. Been dealing with insomnia due to finding out I will need to move again soon. 3rd time in 2 years! This time we will be moving in with family and almost all of our home will be in long term storage. This move also means having to find a new job after 12 years, which is mildly terrifying 😊. I will be listening to your videos as i decide what is important and what can be replaced in a few years when I'm finally able to buy a home. good luck with your move, and i look forward to seeing your new adventures!

When you get to Kansas you can grow your own wheat. The history of how the Mennonites (my ancestors) came from Ukraine to Kansas in 1874, and brought Hard Red Winter Wheat with them is worth knowing.

Those sweet glasses with the red print were a bargain. I hope the girls found some fall clothes for your trip . Enjoy that. Faux flowers have Cone a long way , I'm glad beautiful there isn't many flowers I can bring inside or it sets my eldest daughters allergies off. Interestingly because of the larger pollen size , we occasionally can have bottle brush , grevillia etc which I love . I've learnt to make reasonable sprays with many different leaves ,which can be pretty. We love cinnamon rolls which we call scrolls over here. All different flavours and I use up jam or apple butters too at times. Delicious. Safe move and travels to you all my darling. Lots of love , Naomi. 💐🌻❤❤

If you put the one flowers that looks like lace in food colored water and the flowers will adsorb the colored water and the flower will turn that color something my grandmother taught me😊
