Portrait painting process by Graciela Bombalova, Bogra.
Hello!!
This was really a difficult portrait for me to do!! The softness of the skin, the delicate and subtitle expression…I felt stuck at some point..So I had to repeat the portrait completely…sometimes it is the best option. To start again. I hope you will enjoy!! Thank you again for following and supporting my channel!

I used to do pastel work at High School 20 years ago and I am attempting to get back into it all these years later as I am getting bored with computer graphics. You are one of the best pastel artists I have seen and really inspiring. WOW!! I hope to do many myself with your inspiration. Thank you for sharing.

Wooooow nice😍
Hi, love your video. I don't usually comment, but this is wow! I wanna be like you. I'm just 16 and the only medium I'm good at is Charcoal. I would also like to make something with color but I don't know if I can, really. I was thinking on going for digital art, because of a friend. But when I see traditional arts it makes me feel so...real :) it has life, every stroke of color is wonderful. And thank you for the video love it :D
Hello Jean, if you prefer the charcoal it´s great because this medium is very rich and you could use it in many different ways... If you work a lot with charcoal, you´ll start to master the other techniques too...
Best, Graciela
Graciela Bombalova hi there, your work is outstanding i loved it! i have the same problem as that Jean have : good at charcoal and also ok with everything not relating to colors like pencils or ballpoint pens , but my problem with pastel and all colored mediums is i that have very little experience about how to mix many colors to get the exact one I want, or the exact tone! Should i do like you said and stick to the charcoal until it helps my to overcome this problem or keep trying with colors?! Thank you!
excellent!!
Wow free handing :V omg this insane

Şahane👏🇹🇷👏Bende pastel yapıyorum fakat portre ye cesaretim yok sizi izlerken etkilememek mümkün değil. Gerçekten büyük yeteneksiniz.kuru kaleme benziyor pastel mi yoksa karışık boyalar mı kullanıyor sunuz ?
I love watching your video's, I am curious what is the pencils that you use that almost look like they could be mechanical? I have been a water color portrait painter but am now crossing into pastels and in the stores near me I do not see anything like you are using . Is there a website that you purchase from?
Tania,
It is a Lead holder that can be found in internet.
It´s a Koh-i-noor lead holder.
Regards,
Graciela.
More than fantastic
Do you use any fixative after the work is done?
Angela Equd Hello Angela,
Yes I use fixative at the end of the work to protect the painting..
This could dark a little the final work,
Regards, Bogra

what is the pencil you're using? is that a colored pencil? btw, wonderful work. i hope i can do this
I think they are stabilo colored pencil but I'm not sure...
How long did this take? I want to get into pastel art because i hate painting but i am curious how long pastel art like this takes vs painting.
What are the pateis you use in the design , I'm wanting to start drawing with pastels . Its tell me ? beautiful video
Ronai Carvalho Hello Ronal..You could start with a small set (of 8) from Unison...They have special sets for portrait, so it is a good start and then you could try different brands, or buy one on one...Regards, Bogra
Hi! I love your drawing so much. I wonder the tools you used. Are them all soft pastels? Did you use any oil color pencil or something else? I just started learning soft pastel. But the soft pastel always create a lot of loose power on the paper, and color cannot stay. It ends up to have a lot of very light color. How did you make color so bright? Thanks a lot!
Hello Mia,
All of my pastels are soft pastels like Schminke, Unison, Rembrandt..
The soft pastel is the most pure pigment color that you can work with...but I can understand why you loose power on the paper..
Maybe the brands you use are not good enough..Or maybe you are using right brands in the wrong paper..
Regards,
Bogra.
Graciela Bombalova Thank you! I will try more brands.
amazing work , can you tell me which paper to use for soft pastel work ?
Akansha,
you can start or use Canson Paper..It is affordable and can be found easily..
regards, BograAkansha Kapoor
Ty so much ma'am :)
