  • This was a great and enjoyable portrait to do!
    The picture (professional photo) sent by the client was great. And what can I say about this little model!! Green eyes, great face structure and nice surrounding colors. Also a nice and "alive" hair...
    Portrait painting process by Graciela Bombalova, Bogra.
    This is the high-speed process of a pastel portrait painting of a young girl. I hope you enjoy...

    I love the beautiful warm tones of your sketch in this video. This one was the first one I ever saw of yours and will always be my favorite! I am guessing this was Pitt Pastell pencil by the look of it. I will have to buy a few and see if I can find that beautiful color! It really reminds me of those beautiful sepia drawings but not quite the same color (well I guess "sepia" varies depending on the brand!). Thank you so much for all the amazing inspiration!

    Hola Graciela: estoy fascinada con tu trabajo, he estado viendo durante varias horas, y no puedo parar. Parecen vivos, como si se fueran a salir del papel. Me gustaría ensayar...me podrías decir qué papel usas y qué es ese lápiz gordo como portaminas que utilizas para hacer esos cabellos tan delgados? he estado ensayando y me quedan gruesos. Utilizas una paleta de colores hermosa, lástima que en mi país no se consigan esos tonos sueltos, y las cajas completas vienen con tonos que sobran. Te felicito, tienes benditas las manos. qué don tan hermoso te dió la vida. GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR, es un espectáculo verte trabajar.

    Oh another leftie! You are soooooo good! What paper did you use? was it a coloured pastel? and how do you achieve the sharpness around the eyes and yet at the same time the wispy eyebrows? Do you ever mix coloured pencils with the pastels for portraits?
    I enjoyed every second of the video, Thank you for sharing.

    • @covid-19inthistogether96
      @covid-19inthistogether96 6 лет назад

      Did you notice, she used sharp/hard pencil tips for the details around and in the eyes? I think those are the Conte a Paris Pierre Noire pencils (I think I saw 2B?). She also used a bright white pastel pencil for the eyes by Derwent (Titanium White) I think, and a few colors by Koh-I-Noor for lids and brows. I'm not sure about the paper but I think most professional artists use something like the UART sanded pastel paper (archival quality). I hope this helps! Maybe she will reply one day?

      I definitely saw the brand Conte' a Paris (Pierre Noir in 2B?) for the pencil she used on the eyes, the pencils with the natural looking wood barrels with the colored tips look like Koh-i-Noor Gioconda Soft Pastel Pencils. The pencil with the reddish brown/burgandy colored barrel and colored tip I believe is a Derwent Pastel Pencil in Titanium White. I think the chalk like sticks you see in the beginning for the background might be the Sennelier? The pencil with the pink barrel with the large triangular shape is a Koh-I-Noor mechanical pencil that holds their "drawing chalks" that go inside. It looked like a brown color (she was using it on the eyebrows mostly). All I see on Amazon is light and dark sepia brown.) I'm guessing she has a preference for different shades of portrait colors from the different brands, level of hardness for fine detail areas etc. If you haven't bought any before, I highly recommend going to an art supply store and trying out one of each brand first! Sometimes its just all up to personal preference.

    This artist has a slight problem with the lay out drawing that most viewers may not notice (it's in ALL her portraits). She has a tendency to longigate the parallel view of the WHOLE facial structure... causing the person being drawn to appear slightly older.
