I think an important part of stoic philosophy bypassed from these videos is the fact that people should not chase glory, fame, or any of the indifferents, as it will not permanently make you happy. Only following your inner path and nature, which is connected with the universe's will and nature, will give you true happiness and fulfillment in this life
Sorry to reply to an year old comment but the video never said to go for glory it simply said to make your life purposeful. Purpose doesn't have to be something grandeur, living a modest life can be count as purpose.
This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 164 subs and almost 80 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
I was recently down in the dumps; battered, defeated, humiliated, and cast aside by life. Among the most crippling of blows was dealing with my Covid infection. It's quite remarkable how my near-death experience forced me to be most sanguine about my precarious life...eventually. Unemployed, divorced, estranged from family, and dealing with multiple health issues. For some reason in a hospital bed recovering I decided to fill in that deafening, and awkward silence by distracting myself from life, yet again. I charged my phone and decided to watch some YT, and with casual malaise I clicked on this video. Suffice to say, my birthday has now changed to that day my eyes were opened to the gift of true life. And I have vowed to not look back, for there's nothing there anyway. Everything is right here, so I hope this obscure OP can serve as a virtual nod to my former walking dead brothers and sisters. I salute you; and happy birthday! To the creator/s of this channel, you have unlocked the true meaning of life by giving this dilapidated soul a makeover. Thank you. I lost my good paying job today, somewhat without warning. I was planning for a great and very important year. I've no clue what is next. Yet this video turned up on my RUclips list. I believe it is not without reason. May the Good Logos help me find my next move and overall purpose.
@@chetansinghchauhansec-b5475 Thanks man. I'm a devotee of the Lord Jesus in a Catholic Church n I'm planning to be a monk. Middle age man with no wife. It is time to get away from carnal life n seek pure Spiritual life. I think it is time. Thanks for the best wishes though. Happy New Year to you 🎉
There has been an interesting experience I have had which I´d like to share. For a while now I have been looking for my purpose, trying to find out that thing which it is I came here to do. I was thinking about it a lot. I sat in silence and quieted my mind. I connected deeper to my heart. I asked myself what are the 5 top things I want to focus on and master. I wrote them down. I have minimalized my life, I mean EVERYTHING! From the files on my phone, to my physical environment, to my computer to the "files" in my mind. EVERYTHING! And the results are amazing. I wake up and now exactly what my goals are. No more trying to think about them and doing it later or trying to figure it out. I realized that it is about setting and achieving goals meaningful to me and my purpose will reveal itself through action, not through thinking. I am curious to hear your thoughts on this!
Summary: 1. Make the most of your present (0:0:55). 2. The purpose is to add value (0:2:25). 3. Ask yourself. Are you happy (0:3:58). 4. Just start doing what you want to do (0:5:45). 5. Pass through the obstacles (0:10:30). 10. There is never an ending of finding the purpose (0:12:00).
This is the most important message you will ever read because your eternity and salvation depends on your relationship with Lord Jesus Christ. You will either ignore this message because it tells you the real absolute fixed Truth which goes agaisnt your way of living or you will get convicted of your trespasses and seek Jesus Christ today which I hope you will. (Ephesians 2:8-9) He said ‘’it is finished’’ (John 19:30) just before He died on the cross, which means He paid the fine for our sins (past, present, future) to be forgiven if we repent and trust in Him. ''What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!'' (Romans 6:15) ''Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out'' (Acts 3:19) Repentance is a turning from sin and all evil works, and it always results in changed behavior (Luke 3:8). (John 3:3) Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again." When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession - to the praise of His glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14) You are born again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36) ''You will know them by their fruits'' (Matthew 7) If you have been truly born-again with the Holy Spirit and He has regenerated your heart, you will have new desires - to do what is good and righteous in God's eyes, to seek God everyday in His Word and prayer, to strengthen your relationship with God. You will no longer desire to willfully continue living in sin but will want to obey God out of your love for Him because of His amazing grace revealed to us through the death and resurrection of His Son. In John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.'' ''Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19) ''Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.'' (Acts 2:41) ''And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God - through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,'' (1 Peter 3:21) ''We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.'' (Romans 6:4) ''Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.'' (Colossians 2:12) Please get right with God and start your relationship with Jesus Christ today before it’s too late, because there’s not much time left! 10:30 literally happened to me... I was training very hard to be able to fight. I entered boxing and combat sports late and my goal was to be on the Navy Boxing team, but my injuries kept piling up and I was never able to compete. Sprained wrist, shoulder, and ankle. Partial hamstring tear, torn right shoulder labrum, and a torn left bicep. While I never got too down or depressed, I still visualized myself in the ring with my hands after a win. My training and injuries were 10 years ago, and now I have the pleasure of being a part of an amazing coaching staff that has two boxers in the national silver gloves tournament for 2022.
I believe we are not meant to be happy. We are meant to be purposeful. Happiness is an emotion . But purpose is a way of life. And when on deaths bed we find ourselves, we’ll go with few if any, regrets.
I’m struggling with potential life-changing decisions. I’m in my high twenties. I really do hope that this sheds some light on the matter, because right now I fell like wandering in the woods with only a candle to light my way. And the flame is slowly but inevitably getting to my fingers. Let’s hope my man Marcus enlightens me.
I have been looking for years to find some of the principles found in this lesson. Thank you so much and keep producing more on Stoicism and life's challenges. God bless you, take care and stay stoic.
Kudos! Marcus Aurelius' philosophy is highly inspirational. It reminds of the Pre-service Training given us PACD/DILG fieldmen in UP Los Banos, Laguna, Phiippines. Said training was to make us US Peace Corps volunteers. We were supposed to be change agents to provide technology transfer to the villages of our country. With it feelings of altruism were imbibed in our personalities. Thanks for the memories!
this morning's routine was stopped because of this video then I was hypnotized by its inspiring content. Thank you for inserting me a valuable amunition for my life's half-finished journey. BRAVO ❤❤
Wow! Thank you for this inspiring message on how to live. Receiving this guidance from a wise person who lived 2,000 years ago reminded me that no matter what adversities each person/generation is facing and how alone we feel,...we really are in this together. We may not have the power to change what's going on around us, but we do have the power over how we live our lives and how we can positively help others...even those who may come along 2,000 years from now.
they are making books on this. find the growth mindset book and you will know how carol worked hard to write it. it took her 20 years, while this stoic student doing this naturally
I struggle with finding something in life that I love or I am passionate about. There are things I like doing, but not so much that I would want to do them every day. The happiest time in my life was school, I never had to focus on the same subject for more than 90 minutes.
Start off with absolutely whatever is your passion in that moment. For example, if you fancy a cup of coffee, that is your passion at the moment. It's a really great exercise, to get you to ask yourself what would you want to do right now, in the present moment. Be truthful with yourself. So if it's a cup of coffee that you're passionate about right then, go and do that. That will then lead you on to going onto the next thing and the next. The universe is always guiding us, we just have to listen and go with the flow. Eg, again, going with the coffee analogy, you might decide to go make that cup of coffee, because that, in the present moment is what you are passionate about, and you get up, go to make that coffee, look out of the window whilst the water is boiling and an idea comes into your head or something you see inspires you in some way, or makes you think of something etc etc. Hope you get the idea. Whatever it is, irrespective of how small that 'passion' is, go follow it. It trains you to follow your inner guidance and you will get better and better at it.
Completing master studies....Harvard, Stanford...... I love this great knowledge and your videos to bring it out and share it , though keep an eye on your. “ examples “ , I’m a farmer listening to your video, and my neighbor is in jail for 10 years listening as well ....... so be aware and remember most are barely able to go to community colleges.... as it were. .......Thank you 🙏
Life is too big of a burden and responsibility. It's not just about enjoying it, it's always about doing the work required to "enjoy" it. Also, everything revolves around money, so all this "do what you love" non-sense is actually "do what you love, but only if you make enough money to survive". Everything seems so wonderful in theory.
You control how you react to your situation. If you don't have money, you control how much effort you put in work and getting raise or finding a company. Perhaps you can make your work loveable by seeing the persistence and effort and the good person you become through work.
I think purpose is more of a crutch than a feature. Like if you enjoy life you aren’t gonna need a reason to validate your existence. I imagine the concept of a purpose makes more sense when people needed to justify why they should continue to live.
This is one of the best video ever! The best inspiration piece of advice ever! 👍🏼 The narrator’s voice is so calm and softly spoken, pulls me in like a magnet!
I'm just so tired all the time. When I think about putting in work to make myself better I feel like breaking down, crying and shooting myself. I'm just so tired
@@sb8882 hi, I forgot about this comment until I seen your reply. I've got some good news though. The Lord Jesus has called me to be closer to him and God has shown his undeniable hand in my life, though sometimes I get more depressed than ever now I spend more time grateful for what God has given me and I would never throw away his gift of life. Come to the Lord my friend 🙏
Ever since I can remember I have had a sense of purpose No surprise there But lately I've been sensing A purpose within a purpose The purpose to have a purpose Could it be No purpose No meaning No me Now that's a surprise Do I really need a purpose to be
Most people are lucky to be able to support themselves & support their passion. Almost no one will be paid for it, and none should be paid for it. Then it’s not a passion. Most people only want celebs lives.
"if you focus on problems you only see more problems, if you focus on positive things you will see positive things" What if I cant support my family -> Well, they will never have to deal with obesity if they have nothing to eat. They will not have to pay taxes if they have nothing and no money. They will never have to deal with everyday shit if they are dead due to lack of heat, medicine or overall safety. Yeah, so blessed!
A more true direction is to follow your opportunities, then the passion follows you. You bring your passion with you, it’s not something OUTSIDE of you. Kind of stoic.
Dunno about this. I pursued what I loved, and what my passions were, and it was not a great way to make a living. I then got unhappy because it was not leading to anything, although I really thought it would. I would say it's better to pursue a life's goal that you are well suited for, one that you thrive at, but still will pay the bills and lead to a tangible goal.
Sometimes you have to do things (in terms of work) that you may not like. But if doing it will help you move towards your ultimate goal, that's fine. Just don't loose sight of your goal and remind yourself that you don't like it but it is temporary. Some people think they should only do "what makes them happy". It won't be that way for most people. Another point to consider is "know your limits" and be realistic. Learn to be thankful and make the best of the abilities and qualities you have. Life is too short, as it were. :'p
Helping others always brings joy to me, but really most of the time i feel like i'm useless😂 like for example i have experienced something, and someone need my assistance because i supposed to already know that. But i'm a bad explainer so yeah, i don't really know what's my purpose in life lol
I want to be virtuous so am doing what I can in the present. Being virtous is so 😊 good. I don't know if family would help me,I am giving it my best. I am not sure who I am doing it it for!

Purpose doesn't have to be something grandeur, living a modest life can be count as purpose.
Nothing will make you permanently happy, human beings are, by nature, finite

My training and injuries were 10 years ago, and now I have the pleasure of being a part of an amazing coaching staff that has two boxers in the national silver gloves tournament for 2022.
Wow, congrats 🎉
“Do your passion and success will follow” I’ve heard that from 3 idiots too. I love that hindi movie
Success or not, is the only way to be happy. Being rich without doing what you love is worthless as you will not be happy.
This book has accompanied me through my life since I was a teenager.❤️
How is your life since then? What is your purpose?
I believe we are not meant to be happy. We are meant to be purposeful. Happiness is an emotion . But purpose is a way of life. And when on deaths bed we find ourselves, we’ll go with few if any, regrets.
I’m struggling with potential life-changing decisions. I’m in my high twenties. I really do hope that this sheds some light on the matter, because right now I fell like wandering in the woods with only a candle to light my way. And the flame is slowly but inevitably getting to my fingers.
Let’s hope my man Marcus enlightens me.
Pray. Only God can help 🙏🏻
@italiancapo7 *only God can help you. Others paths are their own.
I have been looking for years to find some of the principles found in this lesson. Thank you so much and keep producing more on Stoicism and life's challenges. God bless you, take care and stay stoic.
Wow, this is the BEST advice I've heard in a LONG time. And I'm 58, looking for my life purpose!
Your purpose is to love youth neighbour, simple as that. You were put on this Earth to love others, help others, heal others, empower others.
Knowing is not enough we must practise.Willing is not enough we must do.The problem is we dont practise what we know.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Push or find somebody who pushes you (army, top investment banks with their training or sb else).
Use it or u lose it
Yea this is my sign because this is my truth, I study and practice than I stop, consistency is everything and im understanding this
Serve God with good works. That is everyone's life purpose.
The purpose of life is to be happy... help others... meditate... seek truth... and all will be well...
thanks! we all can follow our hearts and fulfil our life!
this morning's routine was stopped because of this video then I was hypnotized by its inspiring content. Thank you for inserting me a valuable amunition for my life's half-finished journey. BRAVO ❤❤
Literally the best video I’ve seen in finding your purpose thank you!!!
Imagine: a Greek-speaking Roman emperor as your personal “self help” guru!
Kinda cool
Dorian Redwine - Thanks, man - ditto.
they are making books on this.
find the growth mindset book and you will know how carol worked hard to write it.
it took her 20 years, while this stoic student doing this naturally
You don't control your age or situation, you control how you act and respond. Try something, and stop doing it if it makes you unhappy.
By concentrating on things you can control, you feel at the driving seat
I suggest to read the books of the wonderful Hungarian writer, Sandor Marai. He based on his whole life on Marcus Aurelius
Can you give me a name

Completing master studies....Harvard, Stanford...... I love this great knowledge and your videos to bring it out and share it , though keep an eye on your. “ examples “ , I’m a farmer listening to your video, and my neighbor is in jail for 10 years listening as well ....... so be aware and remember most are barely able to go to community colleges.... as it were. .......Thank you 🙏
What you say is true - most of us aren't going to Harvard or even community college. Still... I kinda like the way he thinks big...
I always look forward to your videos. This one was fantastic! 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
That is what I needed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you for sharing! 💙
Excellent!Thank you. I am going to listen to this most of the day. I am going to try and write this and put it in a notebook.
More like a book than a video. Not that im complaining the content is good.
this video is too happy and lighthearted for me
Beautiful philosophy simplified very much
Here is a Quranic perspective of the purpose of life: ruclips.net/video/fJVL05p3iLA/видео.html
What makes us who we are? Is it pain? Suffering? Triumphing the phase of unbeatable odds? Or is it something else?
Do what you love to do .. u will attract what you love over and over..
Sir; thank you for this.
I’ll check in by the end of the year to see how far I’m come. 5 months
My LIFE Purpose is evident 😊
OK.
This is one of the best video ever! The best inspiration piece of advice ever! 👍🏼 The narrator’s voice is so calm and softly spoken, pulls me in like a magnet!
"A food for thought" thank you for sharing.
I'm just so tired all the time. When I think about putting in work to make myself better I feel like breaking down, crying and shooting myself. I'm just so tired
Hi...how r u doing....I hear you, your not alone
@@sb8882 hi, I forgot about this comment until I seen your reply. I've got some good news though. The Lord Jesus has called me to be closer to him and God has shown his undeniable hand in my life, though sometimes I get more depressed than ever now I spend more time grateful for what God has given me and I would never throw away his gift of life. Come to the Lord my friend 🙏
Thanks for uploading. This is so vital to improve our life.
Ever since I can remember
I have had a sense of purpose
No surprise there
But lately I've been sensing
A purpose within a purpose
The purpose to have a purpose
Could it be
No purpose
No meaning
No me
Now that's a surprise
Do I really need a purpose to be
thank you, your words are much appreciated 🙏🏾
thanks for the video. It authentically changed my life
great video i have ever watch on purpose.
This is a supremely valuable video.
Most people are lucky to be able to support themselves & support their passion. Almost no one will be paid for it, and none should be paid for it. Then it’s not a passion. Most people only want celebs lives.
Brilliant video, thank you !
Thank you! Very informative and easy to understand.
Loved it! Stoicism provides so much value to help us find our Journey.
Fantastic !
Your best so far ,this information is correct and of great value .
Keep up the good work
Wow, this was all the motivation I needed to get started. Thank you!
I can see the creator of this video applying the same things as said in this video.
Great Job. Thanks and ❤️ from India.

Live in the moment and have Faith
"if you focus on problems you only see more problems, if you focus on positive things you will see positive things"
What if I cant support my family -> Well, they will never have to deal with obesity if they have nothing to eat. They will not have to pay taxes if they have nothing and no money. They will never have to deal with everyday shit if they are dead due to lack of heat, medicine or overall safety. Yeah, so blessed!
Video was really very helpful
Thanks
A more true direction is to follow your opportunities, then the passion follows you. You bring your passion with you, it’s not something OUTSIDE of you. Kind of stoic.
What an amazing summary
Excellent. Thank you and keep em coming!!
4:54 But what if there is nothing that I love doing?
Great! I'm a big fan of these vids - so well informed and smoothly presented! Thank you :)
purpose is to enjoy life and enjoy learning (Epicurean)
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for your videos.
Thank you!!
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” - Mark Twain
Very helpful. Thank you😇
Grateful for the present
10:50 That situation catastrophically unravelled towards one of my relatives.
I first came to know about Marcus Aurelius from the movie, Acts of Vengeance, starring Antonio Banderas. :D
There is no now though. Because even what I just said was instantly the past, the very thing he just said that we don’t have control over 😩
Sometimes you have to do things (in terms of work) that you may not like.
I found this very helpful, thanks for sharing. 😉👍
Man, this is an eye opener
🤩
I realized all I have is lack of discipline and focus.
That’s why most of us fail.
I’m grateful for the job I have but it’s not my end goal or purpose. Trying different things and trying to figure out my Purpose
Great video. Thanks Emperor Auraleus.
I was created to stay under my warm blanket. Its cosy there and I have no problems.
I definitely need to read his books!
Helping others always brings joy to me, but really most of the time i feel like i'm useless😂 like for example i have experienced something, and someone need my assistance because i supposed to already know that. But i'm a bad explainer so yeah, i don't really know what's my purpose in life lol
Thank you very much 😑🙏🏼
Precious.
I need this.
I want to be virtuous so am doing what I can in the present. Being virtous is so 😊 good. I don't know if family would help me,I am giving it my best. I am not sure who I am doing it it for!
