    In this first single note guitar lesson, we look at the E Minor Pentatonic Scale in open position (which mean it uses open strings!) This is appropriate as your first ever scale! That word 'scale' can be very scary for some people- it was for me too! However, a scale simply give you all the 'good notes' that work well one after the other in ascending and descending order. Its like learning the 'ABC' of music so we can learn to make the guitar 'talk'!
    As a scale alone is pretty useless (no one goes to a gig to hear scales!) we look at 10 songs that use notes from this scale so you can APPLY the 'good notes' you now know straight away! This scale means we can play Rock and Blues riffs. If that sounds like fun- you gotta learn this scale!!

    It's awesome to see that you are still using your Epiphone Les Paul after so many years instead of using very expensive Gibson guitars that most people can't afford to buy 🫡🎸

      I appreciate this comment! That's why I still play it. Plus, with the Seymour Duncan Sh-1 at the bridge pickup, it sounds better than most Gibsons imho...

      Not sure about this epiphone but some of them are very expensive these days. Pretty much the same price as a Gibson.

      A well set up Epi Les Paul with a pickup upgrade is as good as any Gibbo! In fact there are plenty of Gibbo's out there that are shocking!

      Which model Les Paul Epiphone is it?

    • @ar3308
      @ar3308 15 дней назад

      I had saved hard and went into a guitar store with a pretty big budget (enough for a Gibson) and an open mind, I tired a vast range of guitars, across a range of budgets and the one that just felt and sounded best to my ears was a 60s Epiphone Les Paul. Which was around £600. No regrets at all. For context I've been playing for 30 years, would consider myself a high intermediate level guitarist and before this has been using an American Telecast for 20 years and I wanted a change from that characteristic Tele twang.
