This fella Andy is one of the very best guitar teachers out there. Im 3 years with Andy and the support has been brilliant. Mike Bradley, Sam Bell, Frasier and more top class teachers with courses. Andy and the other teachers are good friends and people to be around. If your serious about learning guitar then honestly join Andy Guitar you'll not regret it. We have discord also with so many great people all learning together. Im so glad I met all of them and so much support. 🤘👌❤️🎸💯
Making the connection between the fretboard and the piano really made it click for me. I never noticed the lack of a sharp between b-c and e-f, but knowing that makes it trivial on guitar. Thanks for the video 👍
This is exactly how I learned the fretboard. I did try to explain it in the comments when you asked about breakthrough moments on your channel last week. Great video 👍
I am an old guy who has been learning the violin,I just love how logical the notes are. I have been playing chords and singing with the guitar for years and know many notes at all. The violin is a very different instrument,no frets,a bow that slides sideways and makes a horrible noise. I have learned to read music and can play all the notes in first position but find the notes values and timing difficult. I have to know how a tune goes before I can make it sound reasonable. I play and sing at little gigs and open mike nights with guitar but I can see a lot to go wrong if I tried to play violin in public.
Thanks for the lesson, i really need to work on this, i know the basics and could run you up the E (both of them) and A string but not so much the others without thinking about it.
I think that a guitar player should really know the absolute basics on piano. It really is easier to get the idea of the notes in the note circle, with an easily recognizable on the piano. And he just mentioned the note circle! 😉✌️
The reason you have sharp and flat as the same note is that it shows each key to be described without repeating a note main name. In other words, each key has an A, B, C,D E & F, just with variations in sharps, or flats, or naturals. If we didn't label some as flat, then done keys would have repeated notes (albeit with a sharp)

shout out the notes up the fretboard as I am stretching
10 to 15 mins on this every practice session for me ✌
As always, great video and explanation Andy
The note circle is one of the if things you will use so much it will come naturally fairly quickly! 😎
Wow thank you so much for this! So easy to understand for someone who is currently just learning very slowly by tab on an app 😂

That was a fantastic explanation, does anybody know if Andy will post the follow on session or is it just for his website?

Can you please make a guiter tutorial on the song season of love by gamma skies, Victor Lundberg ❤
Sir, while strumming, the sound of high E string come separately 🙏🙏
Even one point I could understand
Great method. I would maybe go one step further and "eliminate" all flats and sharps....
How I learn the notes is doing scales. I call out the notes doing scales. That works. I can’t tell you where G is on the D string put I can play it.
A great guitar tutor but this video just does not flow for me. May work for others.
Holy f**k this is so helpful!!!
circle of 5th's
