I never comment but my Grandma and I used to go to Langer's at least once a month it was a favorite spot of ours when we lived in LA. Seeing you try the food brought a smile to my face and made me think about our Grandma Granddaughter lunch dates. Thank you for making this video I haven't thought of those lunch dates in years :)
Okay, I'll say it, is it super popular and highly praised because it's the best deli in the world, or is it just because it's probably the best deli you can find in LA/California? I feel like you can find some great hole-in-the-wall family deli's all over the place in northeast cities like NY, Chicago and Philly. Says the person who doesn't like pastrami anyway LOL. Love the video Erin!!!
I've only had a pastrami once and I can't say I was a fan. Admittedly, it was store-bought. However, looking the spices pastrami is coated in, I'm not surprised, I really dislike spices like allspice and clove. I did learn something cool today though, I was looking up the spices to fact-check and I did not know that pastrami originated in Romania! I live in Britain and the only place I've seen pastrami is in a shop called M&S and it's sold in the deli section next to stuff like salami and prosciutto, so I kinda just assumed it was Italian and never thought any more about it. Really glad *you* enjoyed your monster sandwiches though, Erin, and it was really cool to see such an iconic food being showcased!
Alright Erin. Now that you dipped your toe into this style food/video, you gotta plan a trip to NYC to try Katz Deli and some other spots. I'll take a train down and meet you there! This looks pretty good. I love pastrami sliced by hand like this where it's chunky. This looks great for delicatessen food.
SOLD on the Pastrami 😋pickles are a Must with a pastrami sandwich, on the side is fine with me, but a must. My mouth is waterering! As always Queen 👑Erin, a wonderful food review video! 🙌😍👏🏻👏🏻
Okay I go to a Jewish deli that has the best sandwich truly. It’s called the stack- it’s two giant potato pancakes (latkas) as the base then pastrami, cornbeef, roast beef, coleslaw, Russian dressing and topped with melted havarti cheese! It’s mouth watering and definitely feeds 2 people and it’s $16. There is so many amazing great Jewish delis in New York and Philly.

Would love more niche content! I live in the UK so will probably never try the majority of the places (even the chains) that you eat from, but I love seeing them and hearing about them!
Ooh she's back!! Love it! The pterodactyl and all!! So glad to have you here doing the ultimate detective work hahaha. Maybe it's just me, but the 09:46 gave me Moira Rose vibe AHAHAHA and I am here for it! 😂❤😂❤😂 Anyway, as always, loved the video, can't wait for the next one!! And may Benji enjoy his snacks too!! 🥰🥰
I have seen a few creators compare their sandwich to Langers and I must say I wasn't impressed in terms of presentation with Katz. Is it that delicious??
I'm glad you were honest in your review, because I have eaten there with the impression it was the best deli ever. Well, for me it was just average in taste. Not worth the money.
It's hard for me to imagine it's the best pastrami in the world, but as an East Coaster, I'm undeniably biased. THAT SAID, I do really like the look of that sandwich!!
@@ErinRobinson No! You can only go by what you've tasted. I've had very good pastrami on the West coast, at a deli in San Diego. I live in Connecticut now and have access to incredible pastrami here and in New York. There's clearly a challenge here to try more pastrami and maybe other traditional deli food? I'd watch the heck out of that!
I'm just a fry person! Like them crunchy but also like them soft. Just give me all of them!! I don't think I will ever be in LA but that sandwich makes me wish I had a trip planned!
Ohhhh I’d love to see House of chimney cakes! It was on my list when I traveled to Cali but I stayed in Santa Barbra and I didn’t really get to venture around LA as much as I wanted.
As far as LA goes, the Hat chili cheese pastrami fries are the best, hands down. A definite share with 2-4 people because omg is it huge... Best French dip is Philippe's and no other will compare.
The only deli I ever ate at in L.A. was Canters on the way home from a night out in Hollywood & that may only have been because they're open 24/7. (I haven't lived in L.A. since 1977. so, it's been awhile)
@@ErinRobinson I don't recall us going anywhere even close to downtown, even back then, especially since this would have been late at night, so Canters was more geographically desirable. I remember the waitresses at Canters were famously very rude older ladies! It was hilarious!
You need to try matzo ball soup!!! If it’s made right , it’s amazing!!! There are many amazing delis locally, looking at their menu is confusing… many Jewish specialties but they are by no means kosher… lol I’d be ordering the roast beef au jus
Don't get me wrong, THAT pastrami looks legendary, like absolutely no knock or notes. New York though has some really phenomenal pastrami, one of the food stapes of the city. So if you head up to the northeast, try it. You won't be let down. And those fries better have hella crisp on it, like shatter in the mouth, hot as Arizona fries.
@@mariakoufalis1487 I mean whats next $78 most amazing sandwich? And we supposed to all go wow wow wow. Sorry not touching that, not interested, give me some Trader Joes I will just nuke it.

My favorite pastrami in LA is JohnnIes Pastrami in Culver City. The pastrami is cut different to than Langers, but it also has a unique retro feel.

Yes! I feel like it's VERY good but there aren't any signature flavors. It is, however, one of the purest and freshest sandwich I've ever had
Oh yum. Pastrami is so good. That fries dish looked awesome. I could do without the coleslaw on the pastrami sandwich.

Drooling.
It was drool-worthy. So fresh and so delicious
Sandwiches are always good! That's a lot of money for a sandwich. The pickle looked good. I hope that you had something to drink.
At least you didn't spill this one lol. I've personally been a sucker for chicken sandwiches, but I might give this place a shot in the future.
I'm more of a chicken sandwich gal myself, but when you're at Langers you gotta try the pastrami. Or at least split it with a friend!

I'm hungry now
Those are some big sandwiches!

Not you rubbing it in that I’ll probably never get to eat this😭
I appreciate the "Anti-Hero" by Taylor Swift reference.
You can't get cheese fries at a NY kosher deli 😂. (No dairy allowed)

A new kosher restaurant opened up in our town and they serve an "egg cream" made with oat milk.😢
