  • This is a review of the new Pilot Frixion Version 2, an erasable ink that is said to be 15% darker then the standard Frixion ink in a refill with 70% higher capacity than before.
The paper in the video was a Silvine Exercise notebook! Apologies for blanking on that.

The lightness of the ink has been a gripe for me with these pens! Glad to see that they're upgrading it.

Just commented on the Knock Zone vid and now I see this video. Didn't know my normal Frixion Ball was a V2

Putting the Frixion refill in a Rotring 600 Rollerball, is hilarious. We can always count on you to innovate the pen game! Thanks for the video.

I thought the Frixion "erasable" pen ink is related to friction changing the ink to clear from the heat when you rub the paper vs actual removal of the ink. That's why when you use the eraser on the pen doesn't actually wear down, it just creates heat to make the ink disappear.

I have the newest version of Frixion pen. It’s called Frixion ball knock zone (neutral clear)… it comes with this metal refill.. good looking pen. Thank you for reviewing.. 👍🏻🤗

    Thanks for the review

    Great review

As of this week, the USD to Yen exchange rate is about 1:150... so if it's 500 Yen, a straight conversion is about ~$3.33.

I haven't tried that refill yet. But I have been trying out their new Synergy (needle point) FriXion 0.5mm pen. I got a pack that included three black and three blue pen. The blues work great. The black ones were problematic. They wouldn't even write at first. And even when I got them writing the ink flow was inconsistent. I consider them unusable. And I've used many black FriXion pens. And none performed this poorly.

I’m glad the ink is more darker

  • @lelandfitz1762

I can see the upside of having a darker more "normal" looking ink. For me it depends on the price. For what I use my Frixion I am aware that it's for text a want to be able to erase thus I don't need it to look like when I write with normal inks or gel inks

  • @alohm

Very cool comparison. Thanks for sharing. I remember papermate erasable pens a millennia ago... How is the ink if it gets wet? is what I wondered? Not sure if I missed you mentioning it?

  • @kan-zee

    Cool

  • @LTHanlon

I get similarly disappointing results with FriXion 1.0mm refills. Unlike the narrower points, the 1.0 skips and lays down an inconsistent line, almost behaving like every paper is coated.

  • @hexa-kun4654

    Great review as always

  • @hilmyakatsuki1665

    Where can I get this?

Can these V2 refills fit into the old clicker frixion pen?

  • @agaragar21

Frixion Version 1 ...Sucks !....its looks like a pencil line in the Black color

    'promo sm' 😏
