- During a port turnaround, moments before @SEACLOUDCRUISESGmbH SEA CLOUD's guests boarded, Peter Knego had an opportunity to document the famed former yacht's original 1931 public spaces and suites. From the pine paneled Lounge (originally the Living Room) and the oak paneled Dining Room with its five Allyn Cox paintings to the Main Deck suites, the Sea Cloud is like no other active cruise ship afloat. Her woodwork, etched glass, bronze light fixtures, gold plated hardware, intricate plasterwork and fine molding are elements of a bygone era. Now beautifully maintained and rich with history, she is scheduled for a major refit in 2025 that promises to keep her in service well into her 100th year. With all the sad news about the SS UNITED STATES and the MV AURORA, it is so refreshing to know that at least one vintage passenger ship will sail on. There will be a new, even more detailed 4K Decked! history and top to bottom tour of this brilliant ship coming soon to this channel. #seacloudcruises #seacloud #classicships #hussarV #marjoriemerriweatherpost #dinamerrill #efhutton
What a lovely piece of History and so glad it's still in service and so well preserved.
Hey Jon! Indeed, she's an extraordinary survivor. Thanks for watching. :)
Wow! Thank you Peter. I'v seen this majestic vessel from afar many times. Always wanted a tour. The company is to be lauded for restoring this exquisite maritime treasure. Bravo Sea Cloud.
In this age where everything seems disposable, it really is nice to have Sea Cloud soldiering on.
Absolutely stunning ship! What a privilege for you to have had the access to all those beautiful staterooms! Thank you so much for making the video of your fabulous tour!
Thank you so much, Robert. I'm so happy you enjoyed it. :)

Another fascinating video.
Thank you, Chris! :)
EXCELLENT, thank you Peter Knego. This was really stepping back in time. Almost like being on the TITANIC. Love the bathrooms and each stateroom. Nice nuisances shine everywhere. Elegance, but not overdone. Marvelous video. 😊😊
Great tour of these cabins!!!

Thanks again Peter. I’ll take number 10. Just don’t see cabins like this anymore.

Thank you so much, Jim. There really is nothing like her in service. :
Hi Peter. Does this ring a bell ??
"A, B, C, D, E, F ..... E.F. Hutton !!!" When E.F. Hutton Speaks, people listen.
Now I am really dating myself !! The ship is lovely.
Hah! Well, I do remember, "Thank you, Paine Webber!", which must be from the same era. Thanks, Jeremy. :)
Wow Peter the original Sea Cloud is magnificent! Her interiors renmind me of the Titanic!she also looks like a ship of Titanic's time vs the 1930's which is wild. Its also good to see this piece of 1931 history still preserved!
Yes, she is a bit Edwardian in feel, especially in the Dining Room, Lounge and EF Hutton's stateroom. She is a remarkable survivor. :)
