The idea is not only to convince you, my audience but to reach out to the Marvel executives who could learn a lot from Guardians 3.

the only problem is he got defeated quickly (attacked while screaming), I wanna feel like it was a boss fight and probably defeating him by outsmarting the "High Evolutionary".
2/3 of James Gunns villain was defeated instantly, Ego felt like a boss battle out of the three, with display of abilities.
the Characterization was very good, and is not too similar to most MCU's villains that they make every villain nowadays "sympathetic".

@scottwaa it helped that John Cena is actually a really good actor that isn’t bothered about making fun of himself, I mean can you imagine someone like say vin Diesel letting his character (that he is visible for) be made fun of or to look vulnerable, I mean just look at the contracts for the fast and Furious films you have vin Diesel, the rock and the other guy that I’ve forgotten the name of all with lines in their contracts about not been made to look weak or if they have to lose a fight that have to win the same number of fights against that character and the writers have to build a script around these demands meanwhile you have John cena talking about eating a whole beach full of ritchards if he had to and saying the line with a state face.

Thanos will still be the fan favorite villain and I don’t think that will ever change, but Thanos didn’t feel scary at all there was too much room for us to reason with him imo. For me the high evolutionary felt like a truly disgusting person who deserved to die cus there was no good seen in him on any level. Thanos felt like a villain that could’ve turn good at some point whilst still being the most iconic villain the MCU will ever have.

      @Fb-gj5rn Год назад +3

@@Armyblink4life554 Agree to disagree partially. I can see your reasoning. However, I think those villains are a little better for their depth. Thanos did what no one in the galaxy wanted to do which was to kill half the universe to provide equal chance to the other half that survived. He did very destructive things like destroying Xander, killing Loki as well as a portion of asgardians, and having to sacrifice gamora for his goals. We only saw high evolutionary destroy just one civilization and a few really fucked up expeiments. The other civilizations were just briefly mentioned. Im not undermining that the stuff the high evolutionary did but it feels WAY less than what thanos did. Thanos wiped out a ENTIRE half of a universe in mere seconds. This might’ve even included high evolutionary. So HE is a good villain for the guardians series but not as the mcu as a whole

@@Armyblink4life554 Yeah. I think him and ego were the best villains. Ronin was crazy to see because he held the power stone and didn’t get destroyed at all. But ego has parts of him on many different planets. He could’ve easily taken over a good portion of the mcu universe. Thanos to me is sorta like phoenix’s joker. In that they both choose to do heinous goals whatever the cost. Joker is willing to bring down the rich elite and society. And he smiles when he sees his work fulfilled. Thanos did all that crime to kill half the universe and he too relaxed knowing his goal had a major impact on the universe at large.

The writers took the 'trapped with a crazy, drunk, abusive and religious figure' and subtly wrote it into the High Evolutionary's character. This is the reason the character was easy to hate and terrifying. Most viewers had an uneasy feeling about the character because those subtle dark innuendos are common real-life evil person traits some of which were shown on screen. It was clever writing that created a compelling villain. Kang, however, is a more complex character to write about because he is not inherently evil but rather a person that knows the end, therefore his evil actions in between are a means to an end and do not matter in the grand scheme of things to him. The writers of Ant-Man struggled to balance that side of Kang's character arc and ended up creating a generic Marvel villain. He Who Remains on the other hand is exactly how Kang is supposed to be written, a nonchalant person who cares less about what evil he inflicts on those around him, radiating subtle innuendos associated with serial killers or physcopaths. That is a relatable villian that is easy to hate by the viewers.

Well, you can partly blame conservative pundits trying to start up shit (because their -political pawn- got fired, the fuck they care what she's doing now that talking about her is no longer relevant), and also blame Disney for acquiescing to a largely non-existent public pressure (ffs he already came clean to them about those tweets when he was hired years before because SPOILER, major companies do background checks before hiring someone). Seriously, outside of OAN and Newsmax, barely heard calls for Gunn's dismissal.
2017, right around Vol 2's release, Gunn was talking up about Vol 3 AND possibly Vol 4. There was a plan. Warlock was always meant to join the Guardians, but in Vol 4. After his villain + redemption arc in Vol 3. Now add in getting fired, wooed by DC, given Feige Status by them = He wants/needs to end it with Vol 3. The Warlock redemption doesn't feel like an ending, so enter the High Evolutionary + passing the team to Rocket (Bradley Cooper). But since Warlock was teased at the end of Vol 2, had to squueze that in somehow.

What If Series had this exact concept with the Collector, but they could taken it to the next level, included Xavier's wheelchair, Magneto's Helmet, a Venom Symbiote, Thor's armour, and different suits from previous Marvel Movies, they could have then walked through a hanger containing the Wakandan Royal Talon Fighter, the Avengers Quinjet and the X-men Blackbird, all of the Guardians' ships maybe even the Shield Helicarrier.

I think you nailed all of the points. GoTG vol. 3 is unlike most of the MCU movies. We cared all of the Guardians characters and that's why I always afraid that one of them is going to die (mostly Rocket/Drax) because the villain's objective is very personal.
Kang on the other hand feels like another MCU homework that we need to learn throughout the Multiverse saga. I was expecting one of the Ant-Man characters to die to lift up the stakes for the future movies but surprisingly they survived. And I was a bit disappointed. Maybe because I don't have any connection to any of these characters. I actually rooted for Kang to win at the end but maybe he would make a surprising return in the future movies? Who knows.

The beat down they gave him just shows how pissed off (specially S.L) they were. No funny one liners, no awkward jokes, just straight up taking down the guy who traumatized their friend.

It’s really cool how different in gotg trilogy main theme music are based on the main focus character where Quill main theme is more heroes united while Rocket is more the final run if you know what i mean even though the main gotg theme music is still there in some scene but didn’t use mostly in the main awesome scene

I'm okay with the approach to Kang because that was his first real appearance as a villain. There will be plenty of time to establish him as intelligent and dangerous, and there will be a lot of heroes he'll be able to kill to demonstrate how powerful he is. I think that'll be a good way for him to be shown how powerful he is by killing at least a few strong characters.

I heard someone put it like this
Kang we are told to be afraid of him, and that we are TOLD not shown why is his a big threat.
The High Evolutionary we SHOWN why we should fear him and it shows us why he is a great villain.
Kang is all told, no show whereas The High Evolutionary is Shown and Told.
