I freakin' LOVE this game! The story, the gameplay, the kill rate, I love it all. Some people don't like the 3 character tag teams, but I love that too, because it has saved my ass several times.
Easily, along with Samurai warriors 4, and 4-2. Also if you enjoy dynasty warriors 8 xtreme legends ce, and can deal with the frame rate slowdowns totally worth it as well. If you have a vita of course :)
As someone who's played these's "Warriors" games in abundance, I can see that Koei has finally perfected the formula. I started playing waaay back at Dynasty Warriors 3, and that's still one of my all time favorite games. I would play Orochi Warriors, but I don't own a PSP. Oh well. Good review.
I've had Warriors Orochi 2 since it came out for the ps2.. it is by far the most superior hack & slash/kill everything/strategy game I've ever played, and instead of turn based wars it's real time, which is just so much better for this genre. Great review of a great game Mark!.
If I wanna know how good a game is, and I think it might be worth my time, sure enough you have a review of it on the system I want it for. You are basically the greatest reviewer of games I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.
This game is brimming with content. The abilities for characters, effects on the weapons, and the treasures to add to the three slots is astounding. I personally like Lubus since he's a lower type character. Decked him out with boost, potence, power, awakening, vitality, cavalier, and technique for my tech warriors all maxed out of course. I use bolt, flash, flAme, brave, might, slAy, agility, and range for his weapon. On top if that his fourth weapon has almighty, resolve, and stability so I'm pretty untouchable and not affected by stuns if I charge enough. His c3 charge is amazing.
i have the ps2 version of this game along with almost the entire samurai and dynasty warriors i was strictly a fan of both of the series.....i love classic gaming and i liked this review
you are a very good reveiw maker, thank you for doing this reveiw because people at gamespot underate this game, they gave it 4.0 out of 10. I was like warriors orochi? 4.0, no. because I used to have the first warriors orochi on ps2, it was really fun! Now I want to get one and two for psp, because I don't have enough psp games, in my collection.
I have played the 360 version of this game A LOT. Its great and gets very fast paced when you level up your characters weapons and infuse them with the "Almighty" attribute. You cut through enemy officers like you do the regular rank and file.
The Warriors series is very good, they honestly arent that much different from game to game, kinda like Sports Games, but they are pretty fun and addictive. My favorites out of the ones I've played are Dynasty Warriors 4, Dynasty Warriors 5, and Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, this one looks like a really good one too. The ones I've listed though out of most of these games are the most significant in terms of gameplay changes, storyline, and just being good games.
I know that a lot of people said these koei's kinda games are bad and repeat itself in every series, but I don't know, It's sooo fuckin' addicting, plus, there are no raging kids shouting n raging on our earphone when playing multiplayer, just a friend beside you shouting for help. awesome
i'm thinking of getting this game, do i need to play the first one to understand the story? also, i don't know much about chinese history, will that be a problem?
If your looking for a awesome massive army hackn slash game, get Spartan: Total Warrior. It isn't that repetitive and enemies doesn't disappear in 1 second when they die. Plus its cool, because you can paint the ground with blood.
when it is on the psp it is like on PS2? i have it on PS2 and WRRIORS OROCHI 1 on PS2 and it is coool but i want to see it on PSP it is look the same on PS2?
what is the best game on psp from all this dynasty warriors , warriors orochi or from samurai warriors ? please give me the title there is so many i don't know which one i must buy
@Lorric101 It's hard to believe that so many gamers are being so cool! The reason that I say that is because I am use to seeing a ton of fanboy comments, but I have been receiving nothing but helpful reply's from gamers and even more on a Dynasty Warriors 7 review. LOL, maybe there is some hope out there! Thanks again and I will check out that play through!
@Khimeran77 You're welcome. Buying DW7 when the price drops may be a wise idea. And then, if you like it, buy a PS2 and some of the old games, because they're great! :)
@eastreddragon Well wo did change in ways unlike the other warriors games.New storyline,New attacks(Special attacks and musou chains along with teamwork attacks(wo2 only),Three character team battles,And a epic final battle stage.Only thing that didn`t improve was graphics but it is very good.
You could have just Googled it... Anyway I haven't played two in a while so I might be wrong, but I believe you need to finish the first 26 dream stages, unlock every other character, have a total proficiency of about 1000 (The console version and psp version has different amounts of P needed, PsP needs about half), and have a large amount of characters at level 99. It takes a LONG time, but in the Wu campaign there is a level where you had to escort Yoshitsune to a shrine, if you ignore the
@barrak101 Awasome and thanks for the feedback. I think that I will just go ahead and take the big plunge and chance spending $60 on DW7. I have been hearing very good things about it. I haven't played a Japanese themed game since Onimushi series, which I wish would come back.
i have this on my psp. the problem is when loading save game from WO1 saved characters, the game crashes. my console is shutting down. I use *.cso file, PLEASE HELP!!!
IDK why but this reminds me so much of the Nobunaga games IDK if that is the name but basically you controlled one massive army or at times many and fought others god that game was awesome.
I have been looking to buy a "starter" game in this genre. I "ONLY" own PS3, Xbox 360,& PSP. Can someone please recomend a Dynasty Warriors or Warriors Orochi that I should buy? Gamers keep telling me to buy DW4, but I DO NOT OWN A PS2! Any help would be much appreciated. I am looking to buy 1 psp game in this genre 7 also 1 (either Xbox 360 or PS3) game in this genre. Thanks again because I wouldn't know where to begin.
in the beginning try using was it c2 or c3 i dont remember but its the one where lu bu swings his spear over his head... it pests them at start belive me :D try using nu wa's special when enemy is in the air and it usually goes FLLLLLYYYYYIIIIINNNNNGGGG away (usuallu) =P
@BOOMheadshot771 You could've also bought this on the Xbox 360 or just the PSP, with the latter offering the most content. I own all version, and while I usually go for the PlayStation-versions of Warriors-games, I went to Xbox 360 for this one. And if I feel like crazy, I'll play Orochi Z on the PS3, which is essentially Warriors Orochi 1 + Warriors Orochi 2 in one game. :) Sadly, that one is only in Japanese...
I have been asking DW gamers because they seem like they know what they are talking about, like yourself. I am not a genre specific & there have been so many great new title launches. I haven't had a chance to buy a DW game yet. I'm currently playing L.A. Noire, Borderlands GOTY and Portal 2. I own both Xbox 360 & PS3, so I will be getting the exclusive titles for both, next being InFAMOUS 2. I will buy a DW when things slow down. I do appreciate your DW guidence though & I will let you know.
2. missions and just go and kill all the enemies, then you should b able to max out any character pretty quick. This is all based on memory so I might be forgettign something though.
Everytime I press "Start" on the Psp Go, I somtimes accidently press "Select" too and it resets the game. Pisses me off!!! I love the Psp Go's design but I hate the button positions!
@Khimeran77 Don't go too deep into the playthrough especially since you haven't experienced the story before. You'll ruin it for yourself if you do. I eneded up watching the entire thing before getting the game, and really wish I hadn't done. DW games have always got poor reviews from critics. It angers me, because they are fantastic games, and I don't know if I'd ever have got into them if it wasn't for a DW2 demo coming with my PS2. So I'm happy to help someone new try these games.
@adolfobjr The first is only worth getting for the story. If you don't care about it, get the second one. It has a lot more characters, better stages, and a really fun VS mode.
if this is your first review of a warriors game, I must warn, or if you've already played another, the games have been critized for not changing much, I do hope that (as a die hard fan of the series) it will not change your opinion of the games.
the point of my comment was because you said games like DW and SW games felt repetitive. That is because they share the same game/battle system. A lot of games created by different companies use the same battle system but try to make it unique, even though its basically the same
Does anyone else find the game more fun on the psp than the console versions? The game is such a great time waster if you were to take this on the go. That's why I play this game more on the psp.
I freakin' LOVE this game!
The story, the gameplay, the kill rate, I love it all.
Some people don't like the 3 character tag teams, but I love that too, because it has saved my ass several times.
This is by far one of the greatest psp games to ever exist it even plays great on your phone
Whoa! Did not think that the PSP could handle so many enemies on screen at once.
Had great times playing Warriors Orochi..
I've had Warriors Orochi 2 since it came out for the ps2.. it is by far the most superior hack & slash/kill everything/strategy game I've ever played, and instead of turn based wars it's real time, which is just so much better for this genre.

If I wanna know how good a game is, and I think it might be worth my time, sure enough you have a review of it on the system I want it for. You are basically the greatest reviewer of games I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.
You make the best reviews!!!!!
This game is brimming with content. The abilities for characters, effects on the weapons, and the treasures to add to the three slots is astounding. You could definitely get people to buy this game, great job on the review!
Ad Hoc mode is like LAN for computers. That is to say that you can play with other people nearby (i.e. - in the same room).
you are a very good reveiw maker, thank you for doing this reveiw because people at gamespot underate this game, they gave it 4.0 out of 10. One of my favorite series of games! Mark forgot to mention about how beautifull the music is in this game!
I have played the 360 version of this game A LOT. Its great and gets very fast paced when you level up your characters weapons and infuse them with the "Almighty" attribute. You cut through enemy officers like you do the regular rank and file.
Cool. I found the Dynasty Warriors games to be a lot of fun on the PS2. Sometimes you want to just mash buttons and not think a whole lot.
@whyichigo Benkei is a character exclusive to the PSP version of Orochi 2, as are Sanzang Fashi, Gyuki (Boar), and Dodomeki (Ninja).
What'd you use to capture the PSP footage?
I hate how underrated are this series of games!
great review as allways
I love the warriors games. They are usually great fun and I hate how people look down on these games
Still waiting for another Warriors game review, Mark. DW8 in July please?
If I ever get the PSP or PSPGo, this is gonna be my first game I would buy.
I know that a lot of people said these koei's kinda games are bad and repeat itself in every series, but I don't know, It's sooo fuckin' addicting, plus, there are no raging kids shouting n raging on our earphone when playing multiplayer, just a friend beside you shouting for help. awesome
i miss good ole fashioned hack n slash games. i loooooooove dynasty warrior
I just can't stop thinking about Warriors Orochi 2 that I want to get my own PSP.
If this game was gory then it would be alot better. Thumbs up if you agree.
@Tyrik73 Thanks for your feedback!~
@Lorric101 Actually Wo1 and wo2 both have psp versions .I have the psp version of wo 1.
Plz review Warriors Orochi 1
@barrak101 Cool! Yeah, this will be my first one. I play most everything, but is there anything you can recomend, rare or current?
@Khimeran77 I meant get Strikeforce for the Ps3 and Maybe Wo2 for the Psp.
@Tyrik73 I...That's not even close to what I meant. I MEANT, I only USE 1. Meaaning. If I had Hanzo, Yukimura or Lu Bu, I would only use Hanzo.
I picked this up on monday and i'm having a ball with it!..trying track down dynasty warriors: strikeforce for psp now.
Looks kind of cool. Seems like it would get old quick.
Good review!
how do you record PSP? dazzle? or modded psp?
Whats better, this one or Dynasty Wariors 7?? I dont know which one to buy, and theres a huge price difference.
i'm thinking of getting this game, do i need to play the first one to understand the story? also, i don't know much about chinese history, will that be a problem?
If you want to get into Dynasty Warriors, I would suggest Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires for the Xbox 360.
hey guys i got a question, do u get new skills and stuff after u have lvl up, or do u begin with skills and end with the same skills
i wonder hu has unlock Orochi X for the psp ver... hope dat guy post a video about it cos ITS WAT I HV BEEN PLAYING FOR!!!!
If your looking for a awesome massive army hackn slash game, get Spartan: Total Warrior. It isn't that repetitive and enemies doesn't disappear in 1 second when they die. Plus its cool, because you can paint the ground with blood.

@ChaseUbito Just press the directional buttons(back and foward) to switch chars if you don`t know how to.
Agreed. Nice review! =D
@Khimeran77 NAh you should Start with Dw6 or Dw Strikeforce(Warning it will take some time getting used to Playing Strikeforce but it will pay off ).
what is the best game on psp from all this dynasty warriors , warriors orochi or from samurai warriors ? please give me the title there is so many i don't know which one i must buy
@IceyPivot Not really.Just pick random if you don`t know who to choose.
Yes! It is most definitely worth it. Hope you have been enjoying it for the past 10 months. :)
@Lorric101 It's hard to believe that so many gamers are being so cool! The reason that I say that is because I am use to seeing a ton of fanboy comments, but I have been receiving nothing but helpful reply's from gamers and even more on a Dynasty Warriors 7 review. i love these games are they from the same creators as dynasty warriors
@Khimeran77 You're welcome. Buying DW7 when the price drops may be a wise idea. And then, if you like it, buy a PS2 and some of the old games, because they're great! :)
i just need to know can i create more than 1 save? if not, how can i delete my save?
@eastreddragon Well wo did change in ways unlike the other warriors games.New storyline,New attacks(Special attacks and musou chains along with teamwork attacks(wo2 only),Three character team battles,And a epic final battle stage.Only thing that didn`t improve was graphics but it is very good.
should I get Warrior Orochi 1 first?
@Khimeran77 I'll just throw in and say you should definitely start out with DW7.
Ok I was hesitating whether to buy a PSP or a NDS now I've decided to get a PSP just for this game. Hope it's released in Europe though.
@VideoGamer945 Have yuo Played Dynasty warriors four?If not try looking it up.It is probably the best dw game.
@IceyPivot So? you don't HAVE to use ALL three...
You could have just Googled it... What do you mean dying ages, it has really picked up recently.
Does this game have an install data option?
i have this on my psp. the problem is when loading save game from WO1 saved characters, the game crashes. my console is shutting down. I use *.cso file,
PLEASE HELP!!!
i would love to play this on the vectrex
sure helps understand alil more about the game. although its not a necessity.
@TheSpeed919 But the psp version of Wo2 has way more Dream modes(+29 more dream modes) and better animations.
IDK why but this reminds me so much of the Nobunaga games IDK if that is the name but basically you controlled one massive army or at times many and fought others god that game was awesome.

@overlordjacen
how far you got?
@Lorric101 lol! That is the most defiantly the consensus. Thank-you for replying!
in the beginning try using was it c2 or c3 i dont remember but its the one where lu bu swings his spear over his head... it pests them at start belive me :D try using nu wa's special when enemy is in the air and it usually goes FLLLLLYYYYYIIIIINNNNNGGGG away (usuallu) =P
So when can we expect a review for WO3?
WHo is the bestest character in the entire game???
cause thats what it is with the story changed and characters from dynasty and samurai warriors combine
It's pretty pricey on PSN for my tastes but this review sold me on it. I got some discount codes this week so I'm gonna pick it up.
They have Ryu Hayabusa in this one?
You have to review Warriors Orochi 3 on PS3, you will love it!!!
@BOOMheadshot771 You could've also bought this on the Xbox 360 or just the PSP, with the latter offering the most content. Sadly, that one is only in Japanese...
getting this today! :D
i played the hell out of this on PS2. awesome game. sun wukong is the best.

2.

With Kevin being a pro Warriors kinda guy I like him that much more.
My thoughts exactly.
perfect for handheld. no one wants to think and concentrate when you're on the go. leave that for the console games.
Everytime I press "Start" on the Psp Go, I somtimes accidently press "Select" too and it resets the game. Pisses me off!!! I love the Psp Go's design but I hate the button positions!
its also on PS2 and 360

Grr, I wonder if there's a DS/3DS version I can play.
koei is absosulty amazing everyone should check out the samurai, dynasty warriors series. Awsome music, great storylines i love it.
@DeathOnJoker use pro b 8
Does anyone else find the game more fun on the psp than the console versions? The game is such a great time waster if you were to take this on the go. That's why I play this game more on the psp.
depends how into the story you are
