Those who watched in the production server as the music team speedruns to finish The Dance of Canvas Edge, Canvas Edge and The Raging Seas (and the credits song Is It True) in breakneck speed saw daily piecemeal updates from me, writing cue after cue after cue in piano drafts. I'd screenrecord the full cue setup and orchestration one day for y'all to see the difficult work required to make this climatic piece a reality later on.
Those with a keen ear will observe the unfinalised variations of 0:57, 1:19 and 2:14. 0:57 was a difficult balance of not intruding with voice lines with an overly dense arpeggio vs keeping a melody, the latter which was taken; 1:19 was a difficult choice between multiple takes on the touchy dialogue, a melody disregarding previous themes vs a melody in theme but unable to build the grandeur tension and release before the head boop (hear the Gameboy Advance startup meme at 1:36 • that video that you ca... ), so with much brain cells taken I combined the two approaches which I am VERY PROUD OF; and 2:14 was a piano attempt in building tension as Asha almost got caught (I PITCHED THAT I'm so glad y'all liked it), which was completely removed afterwards and improvised by synth. I might want to get out of drafting with just pianos for my future works.
This entire orchestral insanity was completed with 2 working weeks of sitting in front of my laptop - I had some Easter holiday time to spare so it was absolutely fine, but I'm not sure about having that much time these days. Still with episode 2's incredible shots and story to write music for, I'm looking forward with the rest of the music team to bringing badass music to all of you!

And that pretty much concludes all the behind the scenes selects of LAB soundtracks. There are a lot more awesome videos from episode one, but like iPhones these days, those are incremental updates as there can only be so much that can be worked on by a single person every single day. If you'd like to see all of them let me know!
But for now, as we enter 2024, I'd regret to tell that I'll have to remain silent for a longer while. Studying both architecture and civil engineering is no easy feat, and as much as I enjoy scoring for animation, I also would like to accomplish my lifelong dream of designing railway stations for a living, as well as producing a film this coming semester (yes, I am VERY professionally distracted). Episode 2 is well on its way, and the music team is trying to get together to work on it...? We have a lot of amazing talent ready to show to the world what they can do, and I am also looking forward to bringing to all of you the next episode's soundtrack on YT as well as on Spotify. However, studying takes time, doing architecture projects take time, and I may need some financial assistance on the Spotify agents to upload the music...
More will be on the way for an upcoming way for y'all to financially support me, and as for now
    please comment, like and subscribe!
And I'll see you when I see you! Have a great year ahead folks!
