- This is the guide to root Samsung Phone! Work in 2022!
The method works for any non-US/ Canadian devices. However, if you have US/ Canadian devices and your bootloader is unlocked, you can also use this method to root.

Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed
so i flask stock then connect to wifi and open OEM unlock and unlock bootloader and flask vbmeta and can flask already

Thank you very much for making this !! At first I thought I really need twrp recovery wich I was failing installing and because of that I was stuck for months,but luckily I found this metod wich worked.Even if I accidentally downgraded to android 10 (had 11 but oh well) but I finally rooted my phone with magisk xd

I did all the steps, but after reboot at the end, magisk was not there.
I downloaded the apk again, installed, rebooted, and then it worked!
This ONLY worked because your system has RAMDISK. If in Magisk, RAMDISK is set to No, all your installation process is invalid. You have lucky and got the easy way to install Magisk

When I go to the dev options I don't see "OEM unlocking" 3:45 . And also at 10:50 I don't see an option to long press volume up to enable "Unlock mode" the two options I have are volume up to continue and and volume down to restart.
I also have this issue cant load into bootloader.

when I open the magisk app, after the bootloader odin process it just asks me to "update the app" but it doesn't update
also it doesn't say that is magisk but is the magisk manager.....

@@keetoh3827 instead, you can use the original Samsung backup in setting, that's almost the same and will recover all you apps and most of you data
followed all steps correctly, but once flashed the phone goes into bootloop, A21s

Hi, Ive done everything as on the video. After phone restarted it was all fresh. When I then installed magisk again, it still says N/A by installed. When checked with root checker, also says no root. Any ideas? Samsung galaxy s7 edge

There's no OEM unlocking in the US or Canadian model(end with U, U1, W)
Yea you cant unlock the bootloader on us and canada models in developer options its only on international models
odin is stuck on odm.img - sits at around 90% and wont move at all. any ideas on whats going on?

When i try to extract my AP , BL , CP , CS and HOME_CSC files form the ZIP folder, it says the file is corrupted , i extracted anyways but is it usually corrupted files? and can i root my phone with that file? , what should i do? . By the way thanks for this video :)
So everything is fine until 10:38, where I try and restart it. I hold both volume buttons for a long time but it just starts in Safe Mode. (I'm on GalaxyJ5)

You have a old phone, I take it? I think you can just root with the method if you have your bootloader unlocked

followed every step, except after odin loaded the firmware, I got lost after that however I wiped the phone just like you did. when the phone came back up magisk did not download on it

@@themoviechannel1712 Well, you have wiped your phone mean you have wiped at unlocking your bootloader or the wipe at the end of the video? Have you used Magisk App to flash the firmware?

And FYI yeah i did try a rooting process from another video earlier and it told me to unlock the bootloader first even if it meant resetting and i did that first and didn't turn it off idk man find a fix
Sorry, old device usually have different key combos, I think you have to press volume down + power key + home button to go to download mode.
Edit: old Samsung devices have to bypass FRP using an APK instead of unlocking bootloader. Your OEM unlocking have to be on, though

I can't really understand your situation. But for your information, wintar opens .tar files which is supposed to be the file format of the firmware

From 14.40 I really can't get any, it only took seconds to finish the task, 'not eternity', and never got a balck screen loking like recovery mode where you were able to factory reset, my phone simply started and no majisk icon left there for me to install. Not worked for me I have glaaxy A10s. Anything can be done?
First, make sure you have unlocked bootloader. Then, you have modded your firmware with magisk correctly. Afterwards, you should have your modded firmware flashed without errors

When Magisk doesn't show up, just install the magisk apk and it will tell u it needs an reboot

He pressed power button, and yes it will always pop up because you have unlocked the bootloader.

Hey William, after extracting the firmware, there is only AP, BL, CP, and CSC. What am i supposed to for the User Data box in Odin? I am trying to root Samsung Galaxy A8 SM-A800F. I am rooting for the purpose of testing out AFWall+ and ADaway.
Then, you don't need any thing in the user data yield. As a matter of fact, you may not using anything in the user data yield

I'm trying to root a Samsung S9+ SM-G965F. After starting Odin in download mode with the Magisk patched file, 14:38. At the end of the installation it doesn't complete , I'm getting "only official released binaries are allowed to flashed (BOOT)." What does this mean?
You have to unlock your bootloader first, there is a software from Samsung to unlock old models’ bootloader

Flash original firmware back on first. Then, tick the unlocking OEM and flash the magisk modded firmware

Why are we also supposed to flash HOME_CSC? All other magisk guides say not to use HOME_CSC as our data needs to be wiped
Well, if it is the first time you root, you must wipe your data anyway

Hey dude one question, i have found a twrp img file for my device a11 even though my phone is not supported for twrp, should i flash it? (Im raiden abancio i commented on this video lol)
Just to make sure the image is legit, you should have found them in XDA or some reliable sources
It's on the XDA and Androidfilehost, but the most used twrp version on the a11q is 3.4.0-1 so should i risk it?
And there is a vbmeta disabler, i tried this once but i use 3.6.0 twrp (which is unsupported for a11q) and soft bricked my phone i flashed stock rom and it was ok now.

So, all I'm really trying to do is unlock the ability to edit APNs so I can get this phone to work with Visible, but I can't access OEM unlocking in Dev mode either, so what the heck? I've exhausted my own knowledge, and I can't seem to find anything anywhere that can help. Was hoping to root and edit APNs that way, but seems like its not possible on snapdragon (phone model # sm-g965u1). Does anyone have any advice or insight? I'm at my wits end here.
