yes I am success fully rooted just need to get into the android system to install custom ROMs and so on though when I rooted one root checker app said I was rooted and one didn't

What if your phone isn't on the list? Do you just cry ?
If the phone is not on the list. Then there are 2 possibilities
1.This device has a locked bootloader (ie. A subsidized device from att, sprint, etc). You will need to unlock the bootloader before rooting. Since carriers don't like that, there device's are not in the list
2.The root for the device is not out. Either a new device or a lesser known model. It's on you now, you wil make to submit a request

You said we can ignore the build number? Coz my phone has the same model number, android version etc, except the build number, this worries me if installing this one would brick my phone.

2 REASONS
1.The device has a locked bootloader.ie.Its a subsidized phone from carriers like At&t,Verizon,T-mobile,Sprint,etc.How every that doesnt makes them unrootable,But them network carriers are not cool with people rooting there phones.Inorder to continue doing what he does(releasing root methods) chainfire(the developer) decided to stay away from phones with locked bootloader as they guys can press give him a lot of headaches .Samsung how ever is cool with rooting

2.The device is fairly new,it can take a while for a root to be out.Patience

Alright coming back to you-Your phone SM-G900V-Galaxy s5,if my memory serves me right.
Well the 'V' at the end stands for Verizon
You will need to look online for a method to root it,usually it will include unlocking the bootloader and then rooting.simple process though.There is nothing much i can do about it.You can subscribe,that will keep you updated

I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Sm-G361f and it was literally unrootable with one click methods using PC or thru the phone itself. After reading some of the things on the CF Autoroot page I am really scared about rooting my device. My device has KNOX on it which I dont know what it is, and the page sais that Knox based devices will void some sort of warranty. About the bootloader, I did try a different carrier on my phone and I didnt try making calls but everything seemed fine and the device recognized it. I would love some feedback wether I should try to root my device or not using this method.

I see by the version numbers I have a Samsung SM-G900A, but out on the site, the only thing I can see is the SM-G900AZ. Is it because it is with cricket and I have an AT&T phone. Will that prevent me from rooting it? Any help would be appreciated.

If your device model number says G900A
I Hate to break it down to you but AT&T model of Galaxy S5, G900A, cannot be downgraded or rooted if its running on android version 5.1 or up.AT&T locked its bootloader when it updated to lollipop and sadly there is no work around to unlock it since the update was released very late and developers lost intrest in it as s6 was launched.If you are on kitkat,its very easy to root simply google search "towelroot" but its highly unlikely that you are still on kitkat
The problem developers face,that prevents them form rooting is that AT&T do not release their firmware via Samsung, it is not available from the usual Samsung sources and AT&T do not offer a download site.
There are nearly 42 Galaxy s5 variants ,even the tough to crack Verizon s5 was rooted even after the update.But sadly no root for your specif device.You can read more about it online.There are tonnes of articles on that

Non. You will have to flash a custom Recovery separately. Root package simply roots your device
