Thanks Android Guy for the Awesome tutorial , really cleared all the misconceptions about Android Custom ROMS that I had.I ran into a little problem with custom recovery
Hey Man! You are simply awesome! Your tuts are really safe and 100% effective. I feel safe when I follow your instructions on my android device.. Can you please do a video on best screen recorder for Kitkat ??? :) Love from Pakistan
LMFAO the beatboxing, been fucking around with my phone all day, found out a few cool things I didn't know about what to do with your rooted phone. you're very imformative and you helped me figure out lucky patcher, so I could remove Ads from a few apps and play The Walking Dead in-app purchases for the rest of the episodes. thanks a lot
Hi HK, a much-needed post, but do you think custom ROMs will work on lower end old devices like the Samsung galaxy ace s5830i? I have seen my friend flash ROMs in that and I have seen the device becomes very slow. So is there any way to make it fast? or I would have to buy another phone and move on? Thanks in advance

great video thanks for putting it up, just a quick question, ive had a look for customs roms for my old samsung galaxy fame device as I wanted to try what you have done here... but the instructions on the xda forums for this are pretty vague (to me at least),, any chance you could help explain them better? if you have free time that is.
Great tutorial.. As you say, once you do it, it all seems so simple. Got CM11 on my Galaxy S3, and it is faster than it ever was and with so many customizable options.
okay I download CWM on my T-Mobile s4 with Android 4.4 and whenever I boot into recovery mode it goes straight to normal load screen. can anyone please help I have no idea what to do
I've always used twrp but this seemed simpler? Is Cwm compatible with all the latest roms as I've read in some of the threads to only flats with twrp and never really understood how it made a difference?
+DipsyMum29 Yes,Twrp has some bells and whistles. But since Cmw is the O.G of custom recoveries, its compatibility is better than twrp, and is very basic with important features served in a simple manner.I Do have twrp on my other phones, its better and easier to navigate than cmw,but since most people watching this video have cmw on (as it supports all the older devices as well as all the newer ones too),So made a video showing cmw,you can also try twrp, filz, cyanogenmod recovery, etc, etc. The set of instructions shown in the this video is same on every other custom recovery as almost all the recoveries that came after Cmw,has the names and titles based on cmw.
+The Android Guy And Ya,you will need Twrp to do certain try of tasks like mounting an otg, selective partitioning, etc Like wise you will need cmw to do things like dual boot 2 roms, etc If you are only into roms, them anyone will do Hope that helps
Hey Man sorry to bother you but just a little question should Wipe cach and Wipe dalvik cache before the flashing the rom or after it is flashed? BTW thank you again !
hey i just wanted to know that as my device has no external card slot will i be able to revert back to the old os after taking its backup? wiping cache n doing factory reset wont affect my backup ? Thanks
want to ask I'm on ll want to install custom ROM based on kk should I down grade first or flash directly another question I have videos on phone memory will it wipe when I install the custom ROM or it go to backup too ??
Is Cyanogenmod and Custom ROM is same or different? When I am searching for Custom ROM for my device it is showing the results which are for my device. Nice video and really helpful if you are new to this. I would really like to see a video on explaining how to properly partition your external SD card (probably with AParted) to be used with the Link2SD to transfer apps and game data to your external SD but also to use your external SD Card for more RAM. For example I want to do it in my tablet with a 32 GB micro SD card. But not sure how to properly do it to not only transfer games to my external SD but also have more RAM from it. I did some digging on it and didn't find anything that explains on how to do it to have both. So I think if you make a video on this it would help lots of people. Both for them who either wants more space or more RAM or like me who wants both. Thanks
hi frnd..i have sony ericsson xperia neo v mobile...i have done rooting and also installed CWM recovery using x-parts app...do i need to flash kernal before installing custom ROM..
I have two doubts here. Firstly, is there any need for internet connection during the process. And secondly I use kingroot, so should I replace it with superSU before doing this. Thank you.

as you explained in your vedio, that we should first backup and then go ahead for the custom recovery! so mine question is too you is. Cell like myn moto g 1st gen, we don't have external SD card where we should backup? ... 😯
Use your internal memory simple. Internal memory and flash memory and two different things. Only the flash memory is wiped when you install a rom. The data on the internal memory including the backups and not wiped unless you manually format the phone from the recovery. Just be safe, take a backup of the custom recovery backup on your pc
I have a Samsung S4 mini I435 model. I have the phone rooted thanks to your directions, but I've been seeing some comments online about not being able to get a custom recovery for my phone...
Hey android guy, 2 questions/help needed. Do I need to root my phone in order to install a custom rom and a custom recovery? Please if you have time can you find me a video/tutorial on how to root my Samsung Galaxy s5 the Indian exynos variant. Kindly reply and thanks if you have read this. Peace!
hey i have a samsung galaxy note 3 model n900A can i flash rom directly to note 3 it say that boot loader is locked, can i istalled then rom directly i also rooted my phone
this is the most in depth video I have ever seen on flashing a ROM...... thanks a lot and keep up the good work. but how do I backup my phone if its a phone which doesn't have an SD card slot
Even my phone didn't have an SD card the whole time. Its just that the Internal SD(phone memory) and external sd (SD card) are both named as SD on the recovery.only the stuff on your device flash memory will be wiped and the SD memory will be safe So all internal or external SD be safe and backups will be saved in your internal SD memory. Good luck the android guy
I can't find a tutorial on how to install a custom recovery on my Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD 8008x. Is it possible to follow tutorials even if it is not for my specific phone model?

Hey mate, help me out... i have rooted my lenovo a6000 and flashed a custom recovery now i need a rom for my device. i have searched XDA as you said and got confused which ROM is better, can you help me out to find a good stable ROM...

If you look closer, I have changed the screens DPI and tweaked with the colour and contrast settings due to which the images and the rom looks crisper even though the display is a previous generation display The Speed of the rom is increased and hardware acceleration is forced turned ON from the developers option
And that's pretty much it. No major tweaks. So it's a stock touchwiz based custom rom which is made to look like (themed on) s6's rom. Hope that helps Goodluck TheAndroidGuy

Install a Custom recovery
Find a custom Rom for your specific device
Install rom
Enjoy
No root needed if you collapsed my process
+The Android Guy my phone is an android one.. is it applicable on my phone
dont know what i did wrong but i did backup and after i did factory reset and wipe data and cache it deleted my rom file
and i cuold not use it after i got the file via pc to the sd card
You accidentally wiped your internal memory which contained the rom file.No issue though, Flash a stock rom/custom rom
Your rom didn't come with Playstore pre installed. You can either flash a compatible version of gapps.zip or manually install the lastest version of both playservices.apk and playstore.apk form the Internet. Read the description for more info
