I've known about this for over a decade and have told old friends, family, and even a police officer once.
I told all of them, what if you steal a car and then change the plates to the exact same car without any issues wouldn't you get away with it every time?
Everyone agreed with me when we thought that the police probably had a system for that but then I watched this video.
San Francisco in the 70’s.....
Same, I'm from PR and back in the day we had mostly Toyotas, Mitsubishi's or Hondas so it was super easy to clone a car, as long as you didn't do anything wreckless on the streets nobody would know that you are actually driving someone else's car.
Texas has been a REPUBLICAN managed State since the 1800's .
Perhaps their voters need to actually wake up
They only have a system which puts money in the governments pockets
I buy it. HPD have treated me very poorly, when I have been robbed. When arson was an issue, they ignored me for hours, and waited u til 03:15 to show up, and aggressively and loudly lecture us on the dangers of “wasting police time.”
One of them was VERY young (maybe 25), and the other was nearing 60. The young one shouted threats, and insane accusations and explanations for 20 minutes, before they both threatened us to “never waste police time again.”
I called about an extreme arson threat to the neighborhood, which includes 550 townhouse units.
I am terrified, to this day. I would ONLY call HPD if it was super-duper extreme.
I do not trust them. Not at all.
I’m so sorry you experienced this. Same happened to me more than once with HPD. Someone referred to them as traffic cops because they seem to only want to issue traffic tickets. Recently I called HPD because I feared someone had broken into my home thru the garage. The policeman who came out was extremely condescending and demeaning. Gaslit me even, asking him what I wanted him to do! I couldn’t believe his attitude. He didn’t want to be bothered and seemed hesitant and afraid to investigate. Another time, there was a domestic situation with my neighbors in which the pregnant wife called regarding her husband’s erratic behavior. Cops didn’t do anything after speaking with them both, so wife decided to pack her belongings and drive to her hometown. She politely asked cops to help her take bags down the stairs if they wanted to help. Older male cop responded “no, we don’t!” I really can’t stand HPD. They’re very arrogant and have smart mouths.
Another time I called because my car had been broken into, cop refused to take fingerprints and told me that I must have left vehicle unlocked- which I didn’t. Complete waste of time.
yeah I've seen enough Active Self Protection videos where John says that Houston PD is still "looking" for the perps despite clear video footage and information present; i'd be willing to bet people on 4chan/reddit could find them faster.
If you know the loop then close the hole
Thats why I always remove my vin
Does he record the info and report the people trying to get bonded titles
But HOW is This Possible???
Because sadly the DMV is incompetent.

This is what happens when the state has poor leadership
Better start at the local level, Mayor Turner would be a great start !
I am going through the same thing.. what is your suggestion? A little different but similar... my ex live in stole the car. I was instructed to I send the 10 day notice...he is hiding the car... these people should not be able to even get insurance
Well this is just another news story for criminals too use that is possibly going to help increase auto theft's without actually physically carjacking someone but doing it on paper then jacking the automobile using the paperwork 😒
So what happened to the thief after he sold the fraudulent car to the innocent women?
Here in Harris County Texas most likely nothing.
Probably ran for office and won.
Being that it's 2022 the soft a** judge & prosecutors prolly saw no crime for probable cause and told the thief don't do that anymore now go find something else to do 😏
