He's right about all of it. Police are useless in recovering stolen property. I've had two experiences with stolen vehicles in Fort Worth, the first was 41 years ago. The police couldn't be bothered. They told us to go look for it, when we found it, we called them, they told us to just drive it away. Good luck with that, the thief had the only keys. Police don’t recommend doing what this guy did. Let the criminal enterprises succeed while they collect your tax dollars as paychecks and sit at a desk.
Cops stopped being public servants many years ago. They are basically a new gang idc what anyone says. Law abiding citizens who pay their taxes should never have to "pray" they get the right officer on the right day just for them to simply do their job. It seems like they are behaving as if they are doing us a favor. As many times as I used to get pulled over in my 2 old hellcat challengers for "potentially" stolen vehicles. I learned they just profiled hellcats and the stolen reports were years old that they claimed were the reason for their stops. They say why not let insurance cover the car theft??? They clearly have no idea how tight insurance companies are with how bad the thefts have gotten for popular sports cars. This shows how the major disconnect from honest news can be in the guise of protecting incompetent LEO behaviors.
Why you may ask? Because when the government fails to protect the people then the people have a right to protect themselves and each other. The very principle of the government is to protect the people and ensure basic rights and safety. The real question to ask is why have a government and why have a police force in Dallas if they're not going to serve the people?
While they were ignoring this victim and the crime, 857 traffic tickets were written because those are money makers that require minimal effort from the cops. 857 is my made up number.

The Fort Worth PD were just about as concerned as DPD when my parents' home was burglarized over 40 years ago. Talking about it years later, my mother said they actually chewed her and Dad out for "wasting their time". 😒 "Protect and serve"?
In a bad economy, a job as a cop could be something that entices people to apply. The famous quote, "that's why it takes 2 years to get a cosmetology license, but you can make the through the police academy in 6 months...". It doesn't take long to become a cop. And the salary can be pretty good. But cops and their refusal to police themselves turns off people from ever considering becoming cops.
That anchor at the end is part of the problem along with the police department. Our society is declining faster than my comments being deleted and censored..🤬
If police don't want us to take matters into our own hands then maybe they should try doing their job. This would have been an easy open and shut case since the owner located the car. This guy should not have had to recover his own car, but if police aren't helping then we have to help ourselves.
Sounds like he has State Farm insurance, I had them when my truck was stolen in 2017. I had basic full coverage which had comprehensive coverage, and I asked if it covered theft when I purchased the coverage. The guy who stole it was caught driving it the very same day as i reported it just hours after he stole it, by then he had already removed the stereo, speakers, amplifier, and other personal items like my pool cue stick with custom carry case. It took Ft Worth police 3 weeks to let me know my truck was recovered and had been in impound for 3 weeks, I called State Farm to report what was lost and was told that nothing was covered not even the damage to the steering column. I dropped State Farm and now have insurance with The Hartford and all the coverage I was told I had with State Farm. I will never go back to State Farm again and avoid Progressive like the plague.

Tell us what insurance company you have; save a lot of people the trouble from insuring with your carrier.
Sounds like the MAYOR of Dallas needs a phone call to adjust the police department, sounds to me like a lazy a** police department. They darn sure dont have a good police chief for letting this happen. Always remember what my dad always told me, if you dont get satisfaction with a supervisor, they always answer to someone else. True story. Glad you got your car back brother. God Bless, stay safe.
Police don’t recommend doing what this guy did. Let the criminal enterprises succeed while they collect your tax dollars as paychecks and sit at a desk.
The police is too busy having coffee breaks
That's what insurance is for make the claim get a check buy another car
The cops are busy staking out the Dunkin Donuts and 7 eleven store making sure no one steals the donuts.
always keep an AirTag or battery operated GPS hidden in your car....Youll always have a way to track it down when the police are slack
Houston pd same. Problem
Solution Get a apple AirTag it helps when a car is stolen
He’s a boss! Kudos on getting it back.
Same as Detroit....... 😢
And Knoxville
Lose faith in blue bois. Raise hope in yourself and others.
we investigated ourselves, and found we did nothing wrong
we had our car stolen in plano and the cops were great they kept us in the know and tracked our car from dallas to fort worth back to plano they recovered our car even tho it was totaled............
Dealing with the same issue in Antioch CA. Police in antioch said come to police station, waited 2 hours for them to say thay cant take the report. Never followed up with obvious security Camaras, my truck was parked in front of. Now am searching online ad's and driving through dangerous neighborhoods.
DPD: "Dont meet the seller and dont investigate on your own."
Us: "So you'll be investigating yourself right?"
DPD: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pay your taxes and shut you mouths
But tell me again how society will devolve into anarchy without police...
There's no profit in it for the cops to go get your car
That anchor at the end is part of the problem along with the police department. Our society is declining faster than my comments being deleted and censored..🤬
4:00 Right. Police recommend you should not do their job for them. Just let the thieves keep what you worked for...
The thieves are likely to be armed and dangerous and could lead to the police having to give someone the bad news they wouldn't want to hear.
I would say those cops need to get a clue. But apparently even if you give them one they dont know what to do with it. 😂😂
By the time the case gets assigned the car is broken up and sold. What a joke
Do you recommend hartford? I was quoted over $1000/ month to insure a beat up 05 suburban by progressive not to long ago
Is true they found like 100s of stolen trucks here in dallas
What do you mean what could happen to him? He is just a guy responding to a marketplace ad
