I would put it just above Jungle Cruise (currently 13) and just below Smugglers Run (currently 12). It’s basically an upgraded version of Toy Story Mania, but I think it has enough going for it to just narrowly beat the Jungle Cruise
I've only been to Disneyland and Disney California once and I have a soft spot for Jumping Jellyfish even though i've never been on it. It just looks calm and nice after a long day.
Some people may live far away or only be able to afford a trip every once in a while. It just makes it that much more special when they’re finally able to go, but we shouldn’t give them a hard time for that.
Great list and I liked your reasoning for all of your rankings. I went there last week so I've made my own opinions and its cool seeing what other people think! My top 10 are 1 Rise of the Resistance 2 Splash Mountain 3 Space Mountain 4 Pirates of the Carribean 5 Indiana Jones Adventure 6 Incredicoaster 7 Big Thunder Mountain 8 Smugglers Run 9 Guardians of the Galaxy 10 Star Tours
Hey! My name is also Jacob and my top 3 rides are also Guardians of the Galaxy, Rise of the Resistance, and Space Mountain. It truly is a small world after all.
Mine is pretty similar except switch one and two and I am personally not the biggest fan of shooter rides like midway mania and buzz light year step blaster
Funny thing actually, the first time i went to disneyland, I was only there for 2 days and managed to get all 6 songs on the Mission Breakout. I got no repeats and it was amazing
Of the rides I've been recently at Disneyland my top 10 would be: 1. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance 2. Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Star Tours 4. Haunted Mansion 5. Indiana Jones Adventure 6. Soarin Around the World 7. Spider-Man Web Slingers 8. Grizzly River Run 9. Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Runs 10. Toy Story: Midway Mania If I did go on any of the mountain rides they would probably be up there, but I'm not one for thrills and prefer the more detailed rides
Loved this video Jacob! :) I've never actually made a list of my favorite attractions, but I think Pirates might be my favorite, though its so hard to choose! I absolutely love what California Adventure is becoming (bc as you know, I love Marvel!) but it does make me sad that paradise pier and the whole cali vibe is gone forever. I feel lucky that I got to experience that as a kid and now I get to see the new CA Adventure :) AWESOME VIDEO! ! ! :D
I would say my favorite rides at Disneyland top 10 would be Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan, Snow White’s Enchanted Wish and Pinnochio’s Daring Journey.
my top 10 rides: 1) mission breakout (gotg is my favorite marvel franchise so yes i AM biased) 2) space mountain 3) indiana jones 4) grizzly river rapids 5) star tours 6) rise of the resistance (only because it broke down the only time i could ride it 💀) 7) big thunder 8) cars (the wait is always way too long) 9) pirates of the caribbean 10) matterhorn (only bc my friends can't ride it due to whiplash)
I would say the top ten of my favorite rides at Disneyland’s California Adventure would be The Incredicoaster, Grizzly River Run, Radiator Springs Racers, Toy story Midway Mania, Monsters Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue, Goofy’s Sky School, The Little Mermaid, Soarin’ Around the World, Golden Zephyr, and Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
Ride the incredible coaster at night. It is my favorite ride because it goes the fastest. (Guardians 2nd, space 3rd.) I don't really like rise of the resistance because it is very long and doesn't rly have any thrill. I do like the emotronics though
My extra thoughts on the rides: I think the worst part about autopia is the fact that you are rear ended every time, which I remember having enough force to bounce your head off your seat. It’s no joke, they really mean try not to do it. Also, Matterhorn was the very first rollercoaster that moved away from wooden tracks to steel tubes! It’s gonna be bumpy, I just think it was rendered obsolete by thunder mountain, which feels like I’m flying in comparison. It’s my favorite ride there, and I haven’t even experienced the back! I still have not got the courage for any of the larger coasters. The best queue in my opinion was for millennium falcon smugglers run, followed by rise of the resistance and then the indoor part of haunted mansion, the outdoor half being the worst queue I’ve in the park in my opinion, followed by small world. Basically every DCA queue is low on my list.
My top 10: 1. Rise of the Resistance 2. Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Space Mountain 4. Splash Mountain 5. Incredicoaster 6. Indiana Jones 7. Thunder Mountain Railroad 8. Radiator Springs Racers 9. WEB Slingers 10. Millennium Falcon Also you said Star Tours isn’t re-rideable but it does have lots of different versions you can experience
I agree with a good majority of the list but I have one ride that imo surpasses every single ride there by lightyears My top 10 are 10. Pirates 9. Racers 8. Thunder Mountain 7. Haunted Mansion (especially the holiday version) 6. Rise of the Resistance 5. Guardians 4. Space Mountain 3. Indiana Jones 2. Incredicoaster 1. Matterhorn (rode it over 30 times in one day last time I was there I love it so much)
Best Autopia guardians of the galaxy Indiana jones Pirates of the carribean Rise of the resistance Space mountain Splash mountain Big thunder mountain Radiator springs Incredicoaster Grizzly rapid river
I love this list but for Radiator Springs Racers, I would put it in the number one spot because I feel that putting it in the number 8 spot just feels wrong and too low on the list. I still like it nonetheless.
Main Sreet isn't actually based on Marceline Missouri but instead used as inspiration. I don't remember the name but many of the buildings are based on a town in Colorado.
One thing I disagree with is that guardians of the galaxy isn’t better then tower of terror that’s only because I loved it when I was younger so it has the nostalgia for me
I'm just gonna say that I strongly disagree with your appraisal of Guardians and the Incredicoaster. I just feel that California adventure is slowly losing its California theme. I seriously loved the decor at the tower, maybe I'm just a sucker for the Twilight Zone franchise 😅. I do feel as though there are more drops on Guardians though, so that's cool I guess. The decoration for Guardians is also really well done, I simply prefer the Tower more. Thanks for the cool video though, makes me miss Disneyland all the more. Also the music for California Screamin' is infinitely better than Jack Jack screaming in my ears.
Totally get where you’re coming from. I enjoy watching old episodes of The Twilight Zone all the time. I just think Guardians just pulls it off better than the Tower of Terror we had here on the West Coast. As for incredicoaster, I just like how now instead of it being a fun rollercoaster, it’s a fun rollercoaster with a story and theme now. That being said I’m glad you enjoyed the video! And thank you for sharing your thoughts! I think it’s cool to be able to start a discussion with other people who enjoy Disneyland as much as I do.
I definitely agree on Incredicoaster. The rethem imo brings it down quite a bit as I'm not a fan of the incredibles. The Ride itself is quite fun though and offers some decent forces and thrill. Guardians though I can't say as I never went on ToT but that being said even with the retheme it's still like top 5 at the park, maybe even top 3.
I believe so. There are a few new ones though like Web Slingers which opened in 2021 and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway that will be opening in about 2 weeks
whats the hype around rise of the resistance? its not THAT great. someone pls explain. also haunted masion is super overrated imo. i dont get how big thunder > radiator springs in your opinion
For Big Thunder I think I prefer it mostly because I’m a big rollercoaster guy and nostalgia also helps. As for Rise of the Resistance while it might not be the most thrilling attraction on the history of the planet, the entire attraction is more like an experience. Whether it be the pre-shows or the queue or the ride itself I think it’s truly just next level story telling. That being said I was able to ride pre-Covid, so I understand maybe the ride not feeling as immersive if half of the experience is behind plastic or simply skipped over all together.
I’ve heard that this is just a yearly refurbishment for Splash. So they’re just doing maintenance and not changing the ride quite yet. So there’s still time to enjoy Splash 😁
Okay so last time I went to Disney was when I was 7 or 8 but now I’m 16 and we’re planning to go, which rides do you think are a MUST to go on? (btw I have a 9 year old brother)
Definitely try to get a boarding group for rise of the resistance. That ride is insane! But I would also try to go on Splash Mountain, since that will be closing soon, as well as Space Mountain and the Matterhorn
The 4 mountain rides for sure and also Pirates and Indy. All 6 are elite Disney rides imo and are pretty much a must ride every visit. (If not broken down of course)
Although I haven't been on Guardians of the Galaxy, I agree that it's better except for the exterior which doesn't really fit with the nearby Hollywood Blvd. or really Avenger's Campus for that matter.
I think the whole idea is that the building was a space station that one day was attracted to the power at Avengers campus, and so the Collector landed it there. That’s why you see the multi-colored goo surrounding the tower. So in a way it was meant to look out of place. But I agree, it has a very different aesthetic than the rest of the land.
My thought for Space Mountain since you mentioned it’s star projecting disco ball: I know Space Mountain’s my favorite ride at Disneyland and those stars in the ride look cool, beautiful, and lifelike but if only it would be way more awesome and spectacular if Disney adds more or different celestial bodies in the pitch black ride like planets, nebulae, constellations, comets, asteroids, meteors, or even the moon! Despite the whirling spiral like galaxy you see at the center of the space room that counts at 19:28, but a black hole definitely not because of how scary they can be and one might make the ride even more scarier but according to science they’re just invisible because light cannot escape their pull. So just like they added a bunch of Star Wars projections when it’s Hyperspace Mountain including those lasers, I still wish they would do the same thing to regular Space Mountain. As in, by adding more celestial bodies different from the stars. 🚀🌌🪐✨
You are tripping! Haunted Mansion number 11? That is outright blasphemy. Ask yourself, when have you waited less than 35 minutes to get in the attraction? I have to stop watching now. I bet you have Autopia in your top 5. You are way left with this!
My top five are 1 Rise of the resistance 2 Indiana Jones 3 pirates of the Caribbean 4 Haunted Mansion 5 Smugglers run I’m always down to ride all those rides. The technology in the new Star Wars rides has completely sold me.
Where would the new Spider-Man ride rank on this list???
