As a Christian, I've watched anime for over 20 years and while I will say there's some disturbing stuff there's also some great story telling. When I was a teen I learned a lot about the importance of being a loyal friend, hardworking and never giving up despite undergoing suffering. The Anime genre is extremely broad and just a means of visual entertainment. Christians should be discerning about everything we choose to expose ourselves to, especially to our children.

I know you clarified about the anime - but as a reformed leaning person who also enjoys anime, I do feel I need to add more context here. Anime is very, very broad. Like extremely broad. Ranging from cute kids shows, romantic comedies, to horror. Basically you can do more with animation - hence why it’s so broad. Most Americans have no idea just how broad it is. So to just put anime as a leading problem I think isn’t helpful. Hentai anime is just porn anime. It’s just porn. It does not make the majority of anime nor do most watchers partake in it. (Not to my knowledge at least.) and lollis are not super common either. Anime is popular for people on the internet, but that’s like saying all American TV shows are bad or all entertainment is bad. It’s not really helpful and doesn’t help our cause… anime isn’t the problem - sinful human nature is.

Loli is definitely looked down upon by 95% of the anime community, the problem is 5% in the states. People don't realize that Japan didn't start working against CP till about a decade ago so there's unfortunately a market for this crap over there. It's weird AF to me that Chris actually posted he watches it. It can't really be seen as a joke either, there's been jokes made about hentai to where the stories are just so ridiculous, but lolis usually never get touched because of the stigma.

@@Joshpower57 Disagree. 'Loli' is not really considered as a sexual term even among anime fans. Even my weeb friends still use the term casually. Heck, even Japanese people still use this term in wholesome SFW context. The term is used to describe any female characters with cute and youthful appearance regardless of their age. The term you are looking for is 'Lolicon', which is a person or a media that sexualizes lolis. Lolis are simply 'victims' of the lolicon genre. It was just quite recent that westerners started demonizing the term 'loli/shota', and completely forgot that the term 'Lolicon' exists, which is, and should be used for sexual context, rather than 'loli' because it refers to a female character/body type.

This comment was initially intended to just be a reply to another comment but as someone who was really deep in the anime community, I think it will be good if I share these facts with everyone, especially parents who are not aware of all that goes in their children's anime world.
I really loved Anime and participated in cosplay, anime cons, collected manga, drew anime inspired art, and I even gave up on having a quinceñera just to go to an anime convention (and quinces are extremley important in Latin American Culture). I'm mentioning all this just to convey how heavily involved in this subculture I was.
It is true that we can't generalize and say that all anime is bad, just like not all American TV shows are bad because they are overly sexual. But there is a veeery important element to be noted: many American shows have explicit sex scenes and discuss very heavy themes, almost every single one of them has one of the two if not both. In the same way, not all anime is bad, but a lot of it has antibiblical elements in most themes and genres. Not all of them, but the vast majority is inheritely bad and I don't see why risk it so much damage for little benefits.
Anime is very broad (it encompasses all the Japanese animation afterall) and lolicon takes a very small percentage of it (which doesn't make it harmless nonetheless) but there are inumerous other things wrong with anime from a social and spiritual standpoint.
Even in children's anime or comedy or slice of life - genres that are supposed to be the "lighter" ones - there usually is heavy sexualization of women and exaggeration of their bodies, so children are usually introduced to some form of ecchi (erotic anime scenes that aren't full on porn); almost every shounen-ai have the normalization of incest (the little sister/big sister theme); the horror and gore ones tend to be very sexually explicit, which can be especially showcased in the genre of eroguro (meaning erotic gore - which basically is the concept of pairing extreme violence with sexual content. This is where some of the most messed up and perverted fetishes come from. They start with content like this and it starts to scale up to a desire to act it out in real life). In the "lighter" genre, these scenes are usually here and there, but not that frequent. This allows it to go just unnoticed enough to not ring the parents or the audience's alarm bells, but this is how many many many young people gets hooked on Hentai (anime porn) or actual porn. I can't count how many of my friends went down that route.
As I've said, lolicon isn't that common in 'normal'subgenres, however, there often is a character that never look their age in almost every anime. There are so many memes about this because it's weird even for people in the anime community... Why does a 22-year-old character looks like a 5-year-old child in an anime that has nothing to do with loli (and the youthful appearance is also not relevant to the plot or content of the story)??? Normalization of pedophelia that goes unnoticed by most.
It was also anime that popularized genres like gender-bender and things of the sort. This can be showcased in very explicit forms or in a very subtle way (and the latter is usually more frequent). Like the movie Your Name, which is one of the most famous animes of all time. The art is breathtaking, but there are elements of gender bender disguised as romance (the guy wakes up in the girls body and vice versa. They even flirt with the same gender while in each other's bodies). The second category, the "unnoticed" one, is usually the most harmful because it subconsciously introduces these ideas without one even really being aware of it, like in Your Name. Then questions of sexuality, gender and all that comes along in a very imperceptible way.
On top of all that, there is all the demonic symbolism that often goes unnoticed by us, like the nine-tailed fox in Naruto (any Christian can very easily recognize that it is a demon), shows like Demon Slayer making the sister of the protagonist turn into a literal demon and glamurize her character so that we normalize the idea and root for the demon to succeed 🤡; Death Note literally being about using the 'Shinigami' (the word literally means 'gods of death', and we know who comes to kill, steal and destroy...) powers to kill people; Full-metal Alchemist (alchemy is a type of divination/witchcraft, so the name of the anime says it all lol); Black Butler where the main character does an explicit pact with the devil after losing his parents so that he can have a demon as a butler/server and has to have a pentagram on his face as a mark of his pact with Satan, he is also very feminilized in the anime and there are suggestive scenes of sexual activity between the adult butler and the male child dressed up as a girl. B**tiality is also a common theme across genres, but very subtle scenes.
Another spiritual aspect of this is the normalization of homosexuality. 'Boys Love' (BL) is the most popular genre for women that consume anime. And even 'Gilrs Love' (GL) is popular among them. Some of them are just romance stories, but most of it is actually extremely sexually explicit in ways that I can't even describe here. A lot of fetishes or deviant sexual behavior is introduced through these too.
Honestly, the list could go on forever and I'm only talking about some of the most popular ones, I haven't even scratched the surface. You wouldn't believe what goes into the more obscure anime scene. It's truly disturbing.
And lolicon is the genre for female children, but the shota-con (male children) is infinitely more depraved and disturbing and it is also talked about in anime communities.
And I'm not even mentioning all that entails the subculture around the anime community such as cosplay. It introduces the idea of dressing up as someone else, many times from the other gender and going to an event or posting pictures online. Suddenly you receive a lot of praise, probably more than you have ever received in your own body or dressing up as your own gender. So you start to think that you are better or prettier, etc. when dressed up like that. This is confusing to anyone, let alone a child.
So from a spiritual point of view, anime does open you up for demonic activity of all sorts and it is something to be very careful about. The negatives heavily outweigh the positives and y'all wouldn't believe how addicting it is.
The parents that allow children to watch anime unsupervised: please talk to your children and see what they have been watching and pray for everyone who is involved in all of this. Most are actually just lost people who wanted to feel accepted somewhere.

My take here is that it came out that this guy was allegedly into anime porn, and people who have never actually watched anime mistakenly started blaming the anime itself, rather than the porn.
Anime is just an art style. There's nothing inherently good or bad about it, it's just subjective if you like it or not. Some anime is weird af, some is incredibly wholesome (watch My Neighbor Totoro, The Secret World of Arietty, or any other Ghibli film--they not only have a unique sense of charm and wonder, but also teach better values than 90% of Western entertainment). Anime can be used for good or bad, just like any other artistic medium.

As someone who is Catholic and likes anime and has been around the community for years, anime itself isn’t usually the problem. It is either A) the type of anime that is consumed or B) the community in which they involved themselves.
    A) Just watching most mainstream anime is totally fine. The problem are ecchi and hentai shows - ecchi means stuff that is highly sexually suggestive and fan-servicey while hentai is just straight up animated internet pr0n. Most people I know who watch anime take issue with at least hentai if not both, but there is a market for it and it feeds many of a person’s worst base desires. This seems to be what Chris Tyson got into.
    B) Problem number two which is the problem for most girls who get into anime and then identify as trans is the community. Leftism has invaded all fandom spaces, especially online spaces. Fanfiction, cosplay, roleplay, reddit and tumblr, tiktok, discord communities, conventions - all of these can be and are for many are gateways into the liberal lifestyle. This can also come from their irl friends who are involved in the community. I know this for a fact because I’ve been involved with these online communities and my sister’s friends have as well and this is prevalent. And it’s not just the anime fandom - this exist in pretty much all online fandoms. But, a lot of anime can be rife for shipping which is what can lead to a lot of this for many girls. On top of that girls that get into yaoi (malexmale) anime also tend to end up coming out as ‘trans’ later on, but much of that influence comes from the fandom first which introduces them to shipping which eventually leads them to getting into actual yaoi and yuri (femalexfemale) anime.
There are plenty of great anime out there that don’t promote this in people, but there is also very bad anime out there that does, and even the good anime can be twisted and perverted by the community. You need to be careful of the company you keep, the material you watch, and why. Much anime can be consumed harmlessly, but plenty of it can’t. Some internet communities can be participated in without any or much harm, while others are breeding grounds for destructive ideologies. As with all things awareness and moderation are key and if you are someone for whom anime at all can swiftly become a near occasion of sin, then cutting it out entirely is best.

I watched Dragonball z when I was a kid and it got me into sports because I wanted to be strong and fight like the people I watched growing up. I never discussed anime when I was a kid because everyone connected it to being weird and in college it was also a negative because women thought I jerked off to it. I learned a lot of life lessons from it growing up. That being said, there's definitely anime shows that are weird AF, that I wouldn't let 12yr olds watch.

As a Christian who likes anime, I won’t repeat what many have said such as not all anime is bad just like not all cartoons are bad or American shows are bad. It is a medium of entertainment. Allie mentions it is not all anime. It is an animation style.
But what I will say is my tastes have changed as I have drawn near to God and become a mom. I got rid of series that I enjoyed but knew I wouldn’t feel comfortable my kids watching based on the humorous take on gender. While I can laugh at those things, I knew it would confuse my kids so I got it out of the house: fruits basket, OHSHC, Wallflower, etc.
I do watch anime WITH my kids though, Pokemon. Our kiddos do not in take media unless we are taking it in as a family so supervision or prescreening is something my husband do often. If there any episodes of Pokémon or another series that I don’t like we skip the episodes, the cgi Chi the cat series on Amazon is an example since some characters can have an attitude I don’t want them to copy.

@@tidepods6254 I’m a youth. Elvis could have actually had some impacts, as Elvis was known for his… “gyrat-ns”. To suggest Elvis had no impact on the culture at large would probably be false in my opinion, your just taught to abhor when people shut down things that are even the slightest bit obscene. I do think at times in the past it did go too far, but I think you’ve just been programmed by the culture to think that the adults in the past trying to ban something they deemed obscene was always bad and came from a place of ignorance. Friends likely was just propaganda showcasing constant fornication, for example. Theatre is propaganda and it’s best not to have your enemies beings the ones showing their stories to your children. However, Japanese manga artists aren’t necessarily on the Left, so it’s a bit of a mystery as to why anime would do what it might do, in my opinion. As a youth, literally every person I’ve seen who is in the lgb- groups in high school (I graduated last year), happened to also be obsessed with anime, wore anime pins, etc. Maybe it just has to do with them being kind of nerds, and that’s why they watch anime, and social outcasts, with low self esteem, turning them to that lgb- stuff, and it’s not actually cause/effect, Idk. But notice how Chris in all his pictures wants to look cutesy, and how he really liked anime, etc. Also how he had a rough childhood on a farm with his father, and maybe that explains it. Maybe he had a rough childhood, that caused him to feel sensitive about his masculinity and looks behind the scenes, and this eventually led to this. He seems to suggest he has trouble in the Southern towns he grew up in. It is totally possible though, that anime has something to do with it, the cutesy anime girls, although maybe I’m reading too far into it.

Outside of the actual degenerates, and maybe even with degenerates that want to feel their fetish is more accepted, transing itself is a type of escapism from reality. We have a cultural problem right now, and people are looking to any escapism to find justification or comfort away from reality or just to feel like their sexual fetish is normal.
You would have to blame. Music because it has a long satanic history and plenty of degenere communities. You would have to blame everything.
I think you agree that it's not anime, but honestly, I think even p*** is missing the bigger issue. People go to p*** after something else has grabbed hold of them. It doesn't mean p*** is a good thing, but let's not be distracted from the social issues that we have these days.

I know others have stated before but anime is really broad just like our animation in the states. (Think Futurama or The Simpsons vs Disney). I'm someone who grew up watching a lot of anime and I was even on online communities like Deviantart waaaaay back in the day.
I will say, a lot of people I knew on there have changed drastically as they grew up. Quite a few have gone down this transgendered route or even questioning their sexuality. Furries are also closely related to the anime community, not sure as to why but I noticed this early on as a teen. I even remember a time where anything gay was viewed negative by the community and then it started to change drastically to where it was almost forced on people. People would try and put characters who were not romantic interests in any way (Sasuke and Naruto, both boys) and try and put them together and even sexualize them. These characters were both 12-17 in the series btw for reference of how weird this was. These were from anime shows that weren't sexual or inappropriate at all but slowly, people in the anime community kept sexualizing them and it eventually went into the trans/gender bender stuff. You also see this seep into the art community as well through time, which may have been influenced by the anime community.
My husband and I still love anime, there's a lot of great ones out there that have beautiful stories and honestly teach good morals to kids, but I will be very careful with my children because there are plenty of bad animes as well, that even when I was younger I was grossed out by, but I understand I am the minority here. I had a strong conviction as a teen but not everyone is like that and it's important to be careful what your children watch. I've seen a LOT of people go down a darker path because they started watching these types of anime.
I'd also like to note that there was a huge controversy with a manga creator who wrote Ruroni Kenshin (not an inappropriate anime at all for context). He was found guilty a couple years ago of having child corn on his computer. He had so much they thought he was a DISTRIBUTOR. They ended up only giving him a slap on the wrist because pedophilia is only recently illegal in Japan and they said, "He grew up in a time where this was normal, it's not fair to punish him." Insane to me, but it makes me wonder if this was a normal thing in Japan because there are a lot of animes with questionable age gaps or animes that are drawn in that Loli style. I know Japan has a problem already with sexual assault, they even have trains only women can take it's gotten so bad in some parts. I think this has seeped into their entertainment.
For reference on the Ruroni Kenshin creator story, here's an article: www.cbr.com/rurouni-kenshin-why-nobuhiro-watsuki-controversial/

I think some of this seeped into their stories which is definitely affecting younger gens now.
I can see that. Anime is so different now too than when we were younger. I think most of it was okay and not too harmful, you maybe had minor moments in some, but overall it wasn't like it is now. My daughter just picked up two manga books at a used book sale (The Good Witch of the West and DN Angel) and I searched the Internet forever trying to figure out if they are appropriate. It's a daunting world, anime and manga. I couldn't find anything so I guess I'm going to have to read them even though the whole reading backward things makes me want to kill over... I think that's the problem with all this anime/manga stuff. Parents don't even know where to start to try and protect their kids.

There are some great stories and characters in anime that echo God's truth.
But it's true that among the fandoms, there's a lot of sinful practices, and youngsters are the most vulnerable because they are tempted to adopt and normalize sexual immorality if they want to fit in the fans communities or they're simply ostracized.

Maybe there is a correlation with people who watch a specific type of anime but i dont think its helpful to say anime leads to gender ideology with out qualifying the type of anime it is. As you said in the video, anime is very broad and popular. I would bet that majority of people who have gone to prison among the age of 18-25 have anime in their history, just like they might have had sports in their history or watching tv in their history but this doesn't mean that sports or tv or anime are causing people to go to jail. Sorry if this example is too much but it seems like this is what you were saying in the video.

Gender-fluidity, crossdressing, hyper-sexualization, and the sexualization of children is HIGHLY prevalent in many Anime series. This comes in large part from Japanese culture and mythology. It’s extremely sick. Again- it’s not all Anime, because there have been creative people who have utilized the art form to make good shows, but it should be heavily scrutinized and monitored by parents. I went to MECCAcon once with friends who really wanted me to go. I left early because it is almost entirely LGBTQ soft core and hardcore pornography in the form of merchandise and artwork.

Got a lot of pressure on him from co-running this Mr. Beast channel and being "watched" by so many people in the limelight all the time. Probably pressure from the wife to fill that dream roll she had of a perfect idealized husband in her head. So I think its a form of escapism. Reality hit him hard about the weight and responsibility of adulthood. And psychologically he got scared and overwhelmed. And so he found this outlet to escape into and he is now running from the responsibility of manhood, fatherhood, husbandhood directly into the inverse of it which is a loli girl who is helpless, knows nothing, needs saving or support from someone else, child with no responsibility, is effeminate etc. In otherwords, hes' escaped and psyched himself into an alter-persona who has given up all control and is now hooked on this idea of no stress all pleasure for himself. Que some MKUltra hypno messaging in anime and pron and he's become a tulpa. He needs to wake up and come home especially for the sake of his wife and kid. Only God can bring him home now.

She found that she could have no opinion because if she said one thing, he cried, and if she said something else, he was angry. It is an eye-opening read. Although her husband seemed to be on the effeminate side before the transition, it seems like many of these guys were hyper-masculine originally, and I get the impression that they shoved themselves into rigid male stereotypes, and part of the transition is meant to relieve that rigidity, ironically by shoving themselves into rigid female stereotypes, along with embodying how they perceive female sexuality, by which they arouse themselves (autogynephilia).

That is true. Anime brings in a lot of subtle (until it’s not) sexualization, victimhood, fantasy/non-reality, etc. For example, one adult male passionately kissed a 5 year old “on accident” and his girlfriend got jealous because “there is no age in love”. Another one had an elderly male character that asked a teenage character to show him her privates. She said “no” at first, but than started saying “well, if I do it than I will get what I want...”, she then showed him and if I recall blood started coming out his eyes. These shows are designed for Age 7+!! These are just 2 examples of many. I can tell you there is demonic attached to anime!! There is a pattern for those into anime. It’s a slippery slope that entises the viewer to crave more. Every person that watches anime started in the “innocent” and quickly sought out the dark. I allowed my 11 year daughter to take interest in it before I knew - monitored! She quickly got obsessed. It impacted her friendships, brought in very dark depression in a short time! It was completely monitored & still impacted her. She didn’t have the strength to pull away, but was crying out for help. It is pure, intentional EVIL....though our society celebrates the demonic, so it being pushed mainstream doesn’t surprise me anymore.

Something about the overall look *does* look rather juvenile or kid or tween like. “Anime” is Japanese animation. The entire animation industry of that country!
Let’s not conflate an entire industry with fringe subjects / forms of content in that industry. The thing is anime, just like movies, TV shows music, or even uploaded videos on RUclips, is a creative medium. People can use the medium to create what they want.
I am sure you didn’t intend that but it does come across that way in your phrasing.
