I am still of the opinion that the Van Auger battle will end with every "miss" from Usopp in the battle having been the deliberate placement of a specific pop green, creating an inescapable trap that goes off all at once, Rube Goldberg-style.
I think Usopp will just predict his teleportations with super observation haki which we have strongly foreshadowed for him. I'm pretty sure devil fruits will be the downfall of Blackbeard and his crew because he's after what in his eyes is tangible power, then we have Kaido clearly stating that no devil fruit power will rule the seas - only haki. Roger didn't have a devil fruit, neither does Shanks, Zoro, Sanji, Rayleigh, Ben Beckman, Jinbei and many other of the obviously strongest characters in the verse.

I have my own theory where Usopp kinda develops his own brand Observation Haki where it somewhat acts like Katakuri's. Where he can see the future. However, since Usopp is so negative and a pessimist, he's refined it so that he can see BAD futures. Aka, ones where he dies. Not just the normal future, but all negative possibilities of future events. That would let him keep toe-to-toe against a man who can warp anywhere.

“Character known for building things builds something off-screen” isn’t a plot hole, that’s not what plot holes are. It’s like saying we didn’t see him develop his shurikens or Tabasco stars so that must be a plot hole. It’s just an incidental thing that is probably happening that the story doesn’t need to elaborate on. Like we know Nami is charting islands but Oda doesn’t feel like drawing it because that’s not important to the story that’s being told. There is plenty of opportunity for the kabuto to be in RnD between Skypia and it’s unveiling even if it’s not just a single dedicated moment of invention.

You are aware that the Tabasco stars were shown being made before the Baratie right? So the "plot hole" that is being discussed is why wasn't this particular weapon shown being developed? As the other comment has already said the exact same problem is used with the Climi-tact, but it's still a question that should be discussed.

My example was not meant to be literal but to make the point that it does not matter because that’s not what a plot hole is, it’s incidental and can be inferred based on past actions. It’s not an inconsistency and it doesn’t go against the logic of the story as it’s being told. It is just an incidental detail not an actual problem.

This channel genuinely never ceases to amaze me. Not only are these theories consistently about less mainstream theories (Void Century, Shanks, Joyboy, The End of One Piece, etc), but are some of the most thought provoking ones no less. I think people have been hyping up Usopp's potential upgrade in Elbaf to the point little to no one even considered this avenue. Not only does it fit, but hell it feels nearly prophetic! I think that Usopp developing Kabuto offscreen is totally normal. He's one of three, maybe four Straw Hats that developed new skills after the Aokiji confrontation. Luffy had his gears, Sanji had Diable Jambe (probably), Usopp had his Kabuto, and while I don't remember Nami's scene, Enies Lobby is also the forst time she uses her upgraded Clima Tact, which she notably didn't have in Skypeia
I think the blackbeard vs strawhat pirates will go down with them being new to their devil fruits thus too reliant upon abilities they're not experienced with. We've been told by blackbeard Logia types get too comfortable because they can't be touched. We see Van augur mention recently in manga he's still getting used to his teleport ability due to its limited range. These are both foreshadowing that their df abilities will be their downfall. Relying on them too heavily, and not having experience thus being what causes them to lose. In Van Augur's case it could be that Usopp's observation haki becomes so absurdly powerful that he can predict where Van Augur will teleport to, and recognize his limitations, so everytime he teleports boom another blast to the face which would make for an insane fight scene for Usopp to look like a total badass.
Seems far more likely that it's actually implying the opposite seeing as thus far VAs use of the fruit has been extremely fkn powerful, nothing but clutch moves while STILL being a newish fruit for him, and by the time they actually square up against the BBP he will have mastered it if not straight up awkened his fruit. Bizzare to me that you somehow think it implies it will be his downfall when thus far we have seen like, little to no actual examples of their fruits failing them. Yet, I do think one of the only ways we could get a good idea of who Usopp is up against, is by having Van Augur and Yasopp duel. Sure, Van Augur has showcased his sniping prowess a handful of times, but I definitely think we could get a bigger idea of how he works in action up against someone who stands a chance up against him. Rather than the opponent whom a lot of people seem to doubt.
There's another theory going around that he will receive Mjolnir in Elbaf, thus making his lie about 10 ton hammer a reality, tho that doesn't really fit a sniper 😂
If it was a hammer that could change sizes not only could he handle it and then just make it big on impact, he could make it really small and shoot it with his slingshot and then make it expand on the way there. I think a shrinking/growing hammer would be an ideal upgrade for Usopp. Plus he has used hammers in the past it's not like he only uses the slingshot.
Nice theory, man. I always thought of an Insect theme when it comes to Usopp's possible power up since that one scene in Jaya Island. P.S. Whenever I heard the word KABUTO, I always associated with the Fossil Pokemon and KABUTERIMON from Digimon, which, by the way, can evolve in ATLAS-Kabuterimon.
I love the idea of the Atlas beetle devil fruit Kabuto, however I do think Usopp will fight Van Augur more straight up because that's the appropriate end to one of the narrative arcs for Usopp: overcoming his cowardice. Usopp actually said he was going to stop being a coward during his timeskip training, but then he was just the same as always - I guess because Oda wanted it for gags.
non-fruit upgrades i would like to see is if usopp could leave plants around the map as surveillance and track movements. also to counter warp that his plants use pollen in the air to detect sudden movements would be a great use. another one would be tiny insects could sneak into van augurs weapons and cause malfunctions. imagine his black kabuto turns into mythical zoan something like Khepri.
Having Usopp being chased again would make a lot of sense considering the trajectory so far. Plus it's easy to forget that these fights need a context, so Usopp could be trying to protect something, to carry something somewhere. This was a really fun video. Great job :)
My thought for a zoan for Usopp was the "mythical" turtle who beat the rabbit in a race. A cowardly mount who is slow and defensive in most situations, but could reach enormous speeds in dire situations. Great for Usopp.
My little pet theory for a while has been that his Kabuto will be fed the Paw-Paw Fruit. Incorporating the devil fruit number theory. It could allow him to push projectiles even faster away or push out his own accumulated damage or depression and anxiety to shove it into his enemies. Haven't seen the whole video yet so maybe you say the same.

Great theory but I think you are missing something important. Usopp has the power to turn the lies into truths, and has been doing so throught the series. That is why I believe that towards the end of One Piece we will see Usopp with an actual giant hammer and using conqueror's haki. This will happen most likely during Elbaf.
I just don't think Usopp will switch to close range combat after all his training and experience in sniping. But I do agree that he's going to unlock conquerors haki by the end of the story!

I'd also like to add that in thriller bark when Usopp is running away from Perona and figures out her secret (the hidden unconscious body) in the room, he uses a "special attack- Atlas comet" to demolish the room. And we also get a glimpse of the Atlas beetle in the attack. So it could be a goated foreshadowing.
So, I don’t know what Usopp’s final upgrade will be, but I think you’re on to something on the mounted combat thing I never considered before but it’s so self-evident when you lay it out like this. But I don’t know if it’s gonna be the Kabuto getting a fruit. I think it might be a little more meaningful if it’s Chopper and Usopp riding into combat together. So whatever upgrade that might happen next, I do like the idea that it is beetle-themed, I’m just not sure what it would be. But your ideas have a lot of good solid grounding in them.
Sounds like a solid theory, he could also adapt mobility tech from vegapunk but your theory is better. I've always been surprised he hasn't used impact dials in his upgrades, designed to tank damage and triple the damage taken to an attack. Seems perfect for usop given he can just fire them as a shot to mitigate the blowback on himself. Or use them as mines, seems like a solid method to lock down a person's mobility. If he can predict Van augers position (observation haki?) then he could use the dials as mines for wherever he predicts auger to show up at. Again a way to use them without him tanking the blowback of the dials on himself. It also works in with the hit and run tactics auger can't fly but with the devil fruit usopp can, so usopp avoids attacks knowing auger is limited to the ground and sets up mines, possibly in the window that auger is teleporting in so he can't see it
My problem with Ussop beating Van Auger is that Van Auger is a Yonko commander and also likely a really experienced Haki user and Ussop attacks were only able to take out much lower-tier characters. So I can't see him becoming sniper king especially how he would have to somehow reach Yassop who has one of the most powerful observation haki in the series(and likely even achieved future sight and at least a decent amount of armament haki) by the end of the saga. I like Ussop and would like that to happen in the story but I can't see him surpassing Van Auger without any haki and also due to being one of the weakest straw hat members.
I wouldn't go as far as calling Usopp the greatest sniper of the East Blue by the time the crew entered the Grand Line, the 'duel' he won against Big Daddy was just about whether or not he could hit a distant target. Succeeding doesn't make him the better sniper. Plus Usopp had additional time to finish the Kabuto while the Strawhats hat moved to a hotel in Water 7 after his duel with Luffy.
14:25 A thought occurred that Usopp could take an unconventional approach by allowing his weapon to consume the devil fruit, without delving into the conventional methods of granting inanimate objects devil fruit powers. This could offer an additional rationale for why the theory of Nami's Climate Tact acquiring the Snow-Snow Fruit ability wasn't happening, aside from the Straw Hats' lack of knowledge or interest in the matter.

I have a theory that Stronger will join the strawhats, which would give him his mount, Chopper can talk to stronger, heal him, and befriend him. Usopp is like hercules a man who became a god, and he was basically with hercules in the time skip and Hercules had a pegasus in the disney movie and Oda has taken inspiration from Disney.
Usopp didn't use the Kabuto against Luffy during their duel and we know he was definitely trying to win most likely he made it during the time he spent with Franky after the duel and possibly using tools/scrap Franky had around from demolitioning ships

It's my personal theory that he'll get the Mushi Mushi no mi: Model Bombadier Beetle. It's pretty clear a beetle zoan makes the most sense, but to give a weapon already named Kabuto a beetle zoan that basically just mimics it's design doesn't really aid Usopps character design and is a little too on the nose. But to give Kabuto a beetle zoan that has literally evolved to produce it's own projectile in the form of "shooting" a caustic liquid from it's body makes the most sense. Either that or Kuma dies and his fruit spawns on the ship in Nami's fruit garden, or he survives and Vegapunk gives him the pawpaw fruit, but due to how things are currently evolving on Egghead, it makes it unlikely Vegapunk will be in a position to retrieve a fruit to give Usopp before they leave. But if that does happen, Vegapunk has likely already cloned the pawpaw fruit due to his relationship and experimentation on Kuma. You have to realize that Kabuto is not an inanimate object, it is a living thing, therefore it is not limited by the "zoan only" niche for things like swords or cannons. This would allow the Kabuto to fire any projectile at the same speed Kuma can push people, which could potentially aid him fighting Van Auger as he would not be able to warp fast enough to dodge the projectiles, it also gives the super grown up kabuto the ability to fire people or any large object again at that same speed. Since the living part of the Kabuto that manifests becomes the pouch in the grown up forms, it makes the most sense that the paw pad that activates the ability would exist on or in the mouth of the plant which is where Usopp loads all of his projectiles. It also gives him the ability to fire highly compressed air similar to the Urusus Shock ability Kuma uses.
Btw as a person who breeds beetles and kept an atlas here are some things to note down about it 1. PRETTY GOOD FLIGHT, like sometimes It just hovers perfectly as if it's levitating 2. strong ability to climb, it has sharp claws to attach to trees and skins 3. It's pretty gentle so I don't think it would be on the offense side more on the defense side 4. Very strong shell like if you drop it off a 2 story building It will survive So in conclusion anyone with the atlas beetle devil fruit would have good defense and mobility. also like many other beetles atlas beetles may have decent eyesight but they have strong antennaes that can detect chemicals in the air like chemicals from foods, other beetles, and etc. Maybe the atlas beetle can have some sort obv haki

Personally, I think all Usopp needs is a mount, not necessarily one based on his weapon eatting devil fruit. A giant Atlas beetle would be awesome, as it's horns would work as emergency slingshots. Plus it would allow him to still have full access to Black Kabuto.
It was in my brain that their fight would start with Ussop trapping auger in a bamboo cage just for auger to warp out of it, then it would swing into ussops favor if Ussop jammed augurs gun by firing a devil plant or skull bomb grass right down the barrel causing it to jam or even explode

Honestly, easiest way to beat Van Augur is to know the territory, predict his movements, and set traps, he can Warp, but he can also Warp straight into a sea prism stone bear trap, Usopp definitely needs to start using Sea Prism Stone ammunition, I know it's Luffy's Kryptonite, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Haven't finished the video but I also want to add that Luffy also likes beetles, heck when Bonney fainted from the bugs swarming her Luffy ended up playing with a beetle.
In my opinion the fight between Van Augur and Usopp is gona be the turn around for his character. Usopp wants to be "a brave warrior of the sea". The only thing "missing" is the bravery. I think Usopp will start out fleeing and being chased down, but when he notices this is not gonna help at all he will be forced to become brave by stop running away and fight. At which point he is going to completely flip the script around. This would both break Augur "its fate and its impossible to change" philosophy AND give him the title of BRAVE warrior of the sea. So basically Usopp will be forced to become brave when confronted with an opponent he cannot run away from. Instead he'll start running around Van Augur, being smart about it and setting traps with his pop greens, from there the fight goes from completely one sided towards Van Augur to a "fair" fight and then also completely one sided but towards Usopp's side. With Usopp CHASING him. Which given that Yasop nickname is CHASER would make it a very clever foreshadowing from Oda.

Usopp slingshot is the only "weapon" that could eat a paramicia or logia, since is already alive. it could even eat that ton ton fruit "for some reason there is a lot of those around " becoming his hammer as well.
Mythical Zoan Model Human Sagittarius for God Ussop's Kabuto will be a great choice, if there can be any. Sagittarius, the archer who can snipe targets very far and even blind targets. Just a theory.............
If Usopp's Slingshot gets a Zoan fruit, I'm pretty sure that means about 30% of the crew would use (in some capacity) a Zoan Devil Fruit, effectively making them closer to Kaido's dream of an all-Zoan crew by default - since most of Kaido's crew were using SMILES, at most 10% of the mooks were Zoans, and all the Waiters didn't have fruits at all, offsetting any true Logias in the crew.
While I think Van Augr is really impressively strong, I also think Van Augr vs Cracker was just a bad matchup for Cracker, since pointy projectiles (maybe even haki charged) probably are the weak point of those things. Double Damage. " It's very effektive " While at Luffy vs Cracker - Luffy's blunt rubbery attacks " It's not very effective ".

I feel like the only way Usopp is going to survive a battle with Van Auger is if he finds a way to trick Van Auger into shooting something else. I wouldn't buy Van Auger missing his shots just because Usopp is "fast" and "dodges". No, it would have to be a matter of cover and stealth. I imagine Usopp's first plan will be to either FIND or CREATE some cover, with some kind of pop green that generates a massive forest for him to get lost in or duck behind. And wouldn't it be hilarious if the final battle involved decoys of some kind? Perhaps pop-greens that grow into decoy Usopps and explode into plant debris when Van Auger shoots them. It would be a nice callback to when Usopp first met Luffy and had his veggie crew throw up cardboard cutouts to pretend he had more men than he actually did!
Great video! I don't believe this theory will come true but it would make a lot of sense for Usopp & you've argued your case well. Side note, Nami can't mount Zeus. Only Linlin can. Luffy already asked if they could ride Zeus, he said it's not possible & Luffy called him boring. I assume Oda added that restriction since having an Emperor's soul is already strong enough, he didn't want to make Nami too overpowered too quickly.
The only fruit that IS a perfect fit for Usopp is the Nickyu Nickyu no Mi the fruit of rejection from Bartholomew Kuma, either from Usopp eating It, or the Kuro Kabuto eating It and yes he can eat the rejection paramecia because Kuro Kabuto is already a living being só It does'nt have the necessity of a will that he could only get from a zoan fruit. The rejection fruit combos with Usopp's fighting style, First the rejection Powers permits him to Teleport anywhere he wants, in a similar but diferent way of Van Augur's Warp Warp fruit, nota only that he can send things anywhere he wants with the rejection Powers. Usopp with the rejection Powers he becomes the ultimate suport of the Strawhat he can issue comands with Voice bubbles, he can reject pain and damage in bubbles, he can reject anything of anyone like Venom of plants, he could store the bubbles he rejects within his own pachincos, making pain pachincos, Venom pachincos ETC. The Best Thing is that the rejection Powers reject anything so Usopp can avoid Damage of anyone no mater How strong the enemy IS, and the Best of the Best with the rejection Powers he could hold a 10 Ton or heavier Hammer because his hands World be constatly rejecting the weight of the Hammer.
The Devil Fruit weaponized Kabuto are an good theory, my head-Canon upgrade for Usopp is that he would bulid himself Thor’s hammer Mjölnir, since he idolize Dorry and Brogy who are inspired based on the Nordic Vikings and Usopp used to use hammers a lot pre-timeskip, so in Elbaf Usopp will hear a story about a legendary hammer and decides to build one for himself as he did bulid Nami’s clima-tact, so it is a possibility in my opinion.

I think that Usopp developing Kabuto offscreen is totally normal. He's one of three, maybe four Straw Hats that developed new skills after the Aokiji confrontation.
Luffy had his gears, Sanji had Diable Jambe (probably), Usopp had his Kabuto, and while I don't remember Nami's scene, Enies Lobby is also the forst time she uses her upgraded Clima Tact, which she notably didn't have in Skypeia

I think the blackbeard vs strawhat pirates will go down with them being new to their devil fruits thus too reliant upon abilities they're not experienced with. We've been told by blackbeard Logia types get too comfortable because they can't be touched. We see Van augur mention recently in manga he's still getting used to his teleport ability due to its limited range. These are both foreshadowing that their df abilities will be their downfall. Relying on them too heavily, and not having experience thus being what causes them to lose. In Van Augur's case it could be that Usopp's observation haki becomes so absurdly powerful that he can predict where Van Augur will teleport to, and recognize his limitations, so everytime he teleports boom another blast to the face which would make for an insane fight scene for Usopp to look like a total badass.
And people will call it an A$$ pull. Maybe I should stop caring about what everyone else thinks 🙁 Especially when you just cooked.
Seems far more likely that it's actually implying the opposite seeing as thus far VAs use of the fruit has been extremely fkn powerful, nothing but clutch moves while STILL being a newish fruit for him, and by the time they actually square up against the BBP he will have mastered it if not straight up awkened his fruit. Bizzare to me that you somehow think it implies it will be his downfall when thus far we have seen like, little to no actual examples of their fruits failing them. Yet, I do think one of the only ways we could get a good idea of who Usopp is up against, is by having Van Augur and Yasopp duel. Sure, Van Augur has showcased his sniping prowess a handful of times, but I definitely think we could get a bigger idea of how he works in action up against someone who stands a chance up against him. Rather than the opponent whom a lot of people seem to doubt.

If it was a hammer that could change sizes not only could he handle it and then just make it big on impact, he could make it really small and shoot it with his slingshot and then make it expand on the way there. I think a shrinking/growing hammer would be an ideal upgrade for Usopp. Plus he has used hammers in the past it's not like he only uses the slingshot.
Minor point, maybe in favour of foreshadowing this - one of Usopp's named attacks is 'Atlas Comet'.

I love the idea of the Atlas beetle devil fruit Kabuto, however I do think Usopp will fight Van Augur more straight up because that's the appropriate end to one of the narrative arcs for Usopp: overcoming his cowardice. Usopp actually said he was going to stop being a coward during his timeskip training, but then he was just the same as always - I guess because Oda wanted it for gags.

non-fruit upgrades i would like to see is if usopp could leave plants around the map as surveillance and track movements. also to counter warp that his plants use pollen in the air to detect sudden movements would be a great use. another one would be tiny insects could sneak into van augurs weapons and cause malfunctions. imagine his black kabuto turns into mythical zoan something like Khepri.

My little pet theory for a while has been that his Kabuto will be fed the Paw-Paw Fruit. Incorporating the devil fruit number theory.
It could allow him to push projectiles even faster away or push out his own accumulated damage or depression and anxiety to shove it into his enemies.

Great theory but I think you are missing something important. Usopp has the power to turn the lies into truths, and has been doing so throught the series.
That is why I believe that towards the end of One Piece we will see Usopp with an actual giant hammer and using conqueror's haki. This will happen most likely during Elbaf.
I just don't think Usopp will switch to close range combat after all his training and experience in sniping. But I do agree that he's going to unlock conquerors haki by the end of the story!

I'd also like to add that in thriller bark when Usopp is running away from Perona and figures out her secret (the hidden unconscious body) in the room, he uses a "special attack- Atlas comet" to demolish the room. And we also get a glimpse of the Atlas beetle in the attack. So it could be a goated foreshadowing.

So, I don’t know what Usopp’s final upgrade will be, but I think you’re on to something on the mounted combat thing I never considered before but it’s so self-evident when you lay it out like this. But I don’t know if it’s gonna be the Kabuto getting a fruit. I think it might be a little more meaningful if it’s Chopper and Usopp riding into combat together. So whatever upgrade that might happen next, I do like the idea that it is beetle-themed, I’m just not sure what it would be. But your ideas have a lot of good solid grounding in them.

I've always been surprised he hasn't used impact dials in his upgrades, designed to tank damage and triple the damage taken to an attack.
Seems perfect for usop given he can just fire them as a shot to mitigate the blowback on himself.
Or use them as mines, seems like a solid method to lock down a person's mobility. If he can predict Van augers position (observation haki?) then he could use the dials as mines for wherever he predicts auger to show up at.
Again a way to use them without him tanking the blowback of the dials on himself.
It also works in with the hit and run tactics auger can't fly but with the devil fruit usopp can, so usopp avoids attacks knowing auger is limited to the ground and sets up mines, possibly in the window that auger is teleporting in so he can't see it
My problem with Ussop beating Van Auger is that Van Auger is a Yonko commander and also likely a really experienced Haki user and Ussop attacks were only able to take out much lower-tier characters. So I can't see him becoming sniper king especially how he would have to somehow reach Yassop who has one of the most powerful observation haki in the series(and likely even achieved future sight and at least a decent amount of armament haki) by the end of the saga. I like Ussop and would like that to happen in the story but I can't see him surpassing Van Auger without any haki and also due to being one of the weakest straw hat members.
I wouldn't go as far as calling Usopp the greatest sniper of the East Blue by the time the crew entered the Grand Line, the 'duel' he won against Big Daddy was just about whether or not he could hit a distant target. Succeeding doesn't make him the better sniper.
Plus Usopp had additional time to finish the Kabuto while the Strawhats hat moved to a hotel in Water 7 after his duel with Luffy.
Just imagine Usopp mounted on top of a beetle, that has a slingslot attached to it's v-shaped horns. And then him shooting while flying

I have a theory that Stronger will join the strawhats, which would give him his mount, Chopper can talk to stronger, heal him, and befriend him. Usopp is like hercules a man who became a god, and he was basically with hercules in the time skip and Hercules had a pegasus in the disney movie and Oda has taken inspiration from Disney.
Usopp didn't use the Kabuto against Luffy during their duel and we know he was definitely trying to win most likely he made it during the time he spent with Franky after the duel and possibly using tools/scrap Franky had around from demolitioning ships

It's my personal theory that he'll get the Mushi Mushi no mi: Model Bombadier Beetle. It's pretty clear a beetle zoan makes the most sense, but to give a weapon already named Kabuto a beetle zoan that basically just mimics it's design doesn't really aid Usopps character design and is a little too on the nose. But to give Kabuto a beetle zoan that has literally evolved to produce it's own projectile in the form of "shooting" a caustic liquid from it's body makes the most sense.
Either that or Kuma dies and his fruit spawns on the ship in Nami's fruit garden, or he survives and Vegapunk gives him the pawpaw fruit, but due to how things are currently evolving on Egghead, it makes it unlikely Vegapunk will be in a position to retrieve a fruit to give Usopp before they leave. But if that does happen, Vegapunk has likely already cloned the pawpaw fruit due to his relationship and experimentation on Kuma. You have to realize that Kabuto is not an inanimate object, it is a living thing, therefore it is not limited by the "zoan only" niche for things like swords or cannons. This would allow the Kabuto to fire any projectile at the same speed Kuma can push people, which could potentially aid him fighting Van Auger as he would not be able to warp fast enough to dodge the projectiles, it also gives the super grown up kabuto the ability to fire people or any large object again at that same speed. Since the living part of the Kabuto that manifests becomes the pouch in the grown up forms, it makes the most sense that the paw pad that activates the ability would exist on or in the mouth of the plant which is where Usopp loads all of his projectiles. It also gives him the ability to fire highly compressed air similar to the Urusus Shock ability Kuma uses.
A Super-grown Atlas Kabuto would be insanely large

Btw as a person who breeds beetles and kept an atlas here are some things to note down about it
1. PRETTY GOOD FLIGHT, like sometimes It just hovers perfectly as if it's levitating
2. strong ability to climb, it has sharp claws to attach to trees and skins
3. It's pretty gentle so I don't think it would be on the offense side more on the defense side
4. Very strong shell like if you drop it off a 2 story building It will survive
So in conclusion anyone with the atlas beetle devil fruit would have good defense and mobility.
also like many other beetles atlas beetles may have decent eyesight but they have strong antennaes that can detect chemicals in the air like chemicals from foods, other beetles, and etc. Maybe the atlas beetle can have some sort obv haki

Personally, I think all Usopp needs is a mount, not necessarily one based on his weapon eatting devil fruit. A giant Atlas beetle would be awesome, as it's horns would work as emergency slingshots. Plus it would allow him to still have full access to Black Kabuto.

Honestly, easiest way to beat Van Augur is to know the territory, predict his movements, and set traps, he can Warp, but he can also Warp straight into a sea prism stone bear trap, Usopp definitely needs to start using Sea Prism Stone ammunition, I know it's Luffy's Kryptonite, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

In my opinion the fight between Van Augur and Usopp is gona be the turn around for his character.
Usopp wants to be "a brave warrior of the sea". The only thing "missing" is the bravery. I think Usopp will start out fleeing and being chased down, but when he notices this is not gonna help at all he will be forced to become brave by stop running away and fight. At which point he is going to completely flip the script around. This would both break Augur "its fate and its impossible to change" philosophy AND give him the title of BRAVE warrior of the sea.
So basically Usopp will be forced to become brave when confronted with an opponent he cannot run away from. Instead he'll start running around Van Augur, being smart about it and setting traps with his pop greens, from there the fight goes from completely one sided towards Van Augur to a "fair" fight and then also completely one sided but towards Usopp's side. With Usopp CHASING him. Which given that Yasop nickname is CHASER would make it a very clever foreshadowing from Oda.

Mythical Zoan Model Human Sagittarius for God Ussop's Kabuto will be a great choice, if there can be any. Sagittarius, the archer who can snipe targets very far and even blind targets. Just a theory.............
If Usopp's Slingshot gets a Zoan fruit, I'm pretty sure that means about 30% of the crew would use (in some capacity) a Zoan Devil Fruit, effectively making them closer to Kaido's dream of an all-Zoan crew by default - since most of Kaido's crew were using SMILES, at most 10% of the mooks were Zoans, and all the Waiters didn't have fruits at all, offsetting any true Logias in the crew.
While I think Van Augr is really impressively strong, I also think Van Augr vs Cracker was just a bad matchup for Cracker, since pointy projectiles (maybe even haki charged) probably are the weak point of those things. Double Damage. " It's very effektive "

I feel like the only way Usopp is going to survive a battle with Van Auger is if he finds a way to trick Van Auger into shooting something else. I wouldn't buy Van Auger missing his shots just because Usopp is "fast" and "dodges". No, it would have to be a matter of cover and stealth.
I imagine Usopp's first plan will be to either FIND or CREATE some cover, with some kind of pop green that generates a massive forest for him to get lost in or duck behind.
And wouldn't it be hilarious if the final battle involved decoys of some kind? Perhaps pop-greens that grow into decoy Usopps and explode into plant debris when Van Auger shoots them. It would be a nice callback to when Usopp first met Luffy and had his veggie crew throw up cardboard cutouts to pretend he had more men than he actually did!

Side note, Nami can't mount Zeus. Only Linlin can. Luffy already asked if they could ride Zeus, he said it's not possible & Luffy called him boring. I assume Oda added that restriction since having an Emperor's soul is already strong enough, he didn't want to make Nami too overpowered too quickly.

The only fruit that IS a perfect fit for Usopp is the Nickyu Nickyu no Mi the fruit of rejection from Bartholomew Kuma, either from Usopp eating It, or the Kuro Kabuto eating It and yes he can eat the rejection paramecia because Kuro Kabuto is already a living being só It does'nt have the necessity of a will that he could only get from a zoan fruit. The rejection fruit combos with Usopp's fighting style, First the rejection Powers permits him to Teleport anywhere he wants, in a similar but diferent way of Van Augur's Warp Warp fruit, nota only that he can send things anywhere he wants with the rejection Powers. Usopp with the rejection Powers he becomes the ultimate suport of the Strawhat he can issue comands with Voice bubbles, he can reject pain and damage in bubbles, he can reject anything of anyone like Venom of plants, he could store the bubbles he rejects within his own pachincos, making pain pachincos, Venom pachincos ETC. The Best Thing is that the rejection Powers reject anything so Usopp can avoid Damage of anyone no mater How strong the enemy IS, and the Best of the Best with the rejection Powers he could hold a 10 Ton or heavier Hammer because his hands World be constatly rejecting the weight of the Hammer.
The Devil Fruit weaponized Kabuto are an good theory, my head-Canon upgrade for Usopp is that he would bulid himself Thor’s hammer Mjölnir, since he idolize Dorry and Brogy who are inspired based on the Nordic Vikings and Usopp used to use hammers a lot pre-timeskip, so in Elbaf Usopp will hear a story about a legendary hammer and decides to build one for himself as he did bulid Nami’s clima-tact, so it is a possibility in my opinion.
