    A refillable pressurized water can would be a good addition to the ladder or header area. You get a lot of bang for your buck with that and it costs nothing to refill and recharge. You can do it at the farm. Just make sure you empty it or take it inside for the winter. Great job getting it put out, with the wind that would have taken off.

      Add some Dawn dish soap to that water extinguisher, the surfactant in the soap will make the water go farther. Call the fire department first then they can be on the way while you put the fire out. They never mind coming out even if the fire is out when they get there.

    • @anthonyl950
      @anthonyl950 2 года назад +16

      Exaclty! Chemical extinguishers are horrible on class A fires because they can't absorb the heat. You can put out a lot of fire with a 2 1/2 gallon water can

      Same here. Found one on EBay for about $80. After filling with water just add a squeeze of dish soap. Then close and pressurize.

    For years my father kept a 4020 full of diesel by our front gate. It was attached to a14’ tandem disk. All of our neighbors knew the keys were in it. You stop a grass fire by suffocation and plowing works. Great job Cole

    Your comment about Tiffany jumping in without being asked and grabbing those sacks of pre-mix reminds me of my wife. She doesn't think anything of it. I remember a few months ago you were calving and there was a brief shot of Tiffany observing a calf being born. She didn't seem grossed out by it at all. You may unknowingly have yourself a farm girl!

    I'm amazed at the number of bad things that can happen to farmers and ranchers in the course of a season. I admire anyone who is in the agricultural industry. We need to think of, and be thankful to you when we go to the supermarket and casually fill our carts so easily with all the good products with which you provide us. Farmers and ranchers are the salt of the earth, and we are all indebted to you. God bless you all.

    2 1/2 gallon water fire extinguisher. You can put window washer fluid in it so you don't have to worry about it freezing up. Get a couple, 1 for combine and 1 for the windrower. You can fill them yourself, just uses 100 psi from the air compressor to charge it.

    It would do you good is to carry a 5 gallon pressurized water can- Refillable. With a little dish soap works great. Soap will cut the surface tension of the burning material and put the fire out.
