My old Ford pickup had those wing windows that caught the air and forced it straight into the cab. Best invention ever. Too bad the new ones don't have them.

You and Dad were blessed with the rain Dad thought he was a kid again going thru the mud hole. Yes those bins holds a lot of corn thank goodness it wasn’t too hot to empty out. Next one I’d do earlier in morning keep your wonderful videos coming 🚜🧨🙏😇💖❤️❤️
Cole, these types of videos are very satisfying. You guys work all year trying to fill those bins. It's nice seeing them getting emptied and brought to market. Never gets old.
Good afternoon Sonne Farms. Y'all seem to be doing well. My first job was cutting tobacco on a farm in Southern Maryland . Hot dirty work. Hack the leafy stalk with a machete. . Spear it with a sharp metal pointed dart on the end of a wooden stake. Once you get about twelve soggy tobacco plants on one of those sticks, it weights about 75 pounds. Throw it on the back of the pick-up truck and move on. The highest paid guy on the crew was the one who actually stood at the very top of the barn hanging those stakes in the rafters, but working his way down. His nickname was "High Beam." . Everyday, I used to fold my hands pray for rain. 😁 Just kidding. Actually, it was very rewarding work for a 14 year old too young to get a work permit. We'd get paid in cash everyday twice right around lunchtime and again at quitting time. Back then, you'd get a pretty decent cold cut sub and a 20 oz. fountain soda at the local family owned convenience store across the highway from the farm for $1.25. (one hour's wage for me at the time. And yes, the convenience store was owned by the same family that owned the farm.
That's awesome you got all that rain, isn't that unheard of in July? I mean 3 inches, wow! I sure hope we get some of that rain heading our direction, still in the mid 90's and only a little over a half an inch in 5 weeks. Ellie has the fancy leggins on, so cute in them too. Good job on the corn, thanks for the video. Have a great weekend!
Interesting video today. Glad you got rain. It is so fascinating watching you empty the grain bin. I always wondered how you do that. South Dakota skies are so beautiful. Thanks!
Cole - you should've told your dad to "Do it for the tube." and hammered the throttle - THAT would've been a great thumbnail - a wall of tire spray behind you LMAO Good to see you got your moisture, now the sun needs to go to work and grow grow grow those crops!!!
At video time 48 seconds it is funny they are using a chain to pull their stuck 4 wheeler out with and they have some yankum ropes that could do it as well lol
Chains can be thrown on the ground all muddy after use, allowed to dry and then shaken; the dry mud fals off; and that mud won't degrade them. KERR (Kinetic Energy Recovery Ropes) need lots of washing.... otherwise the mud can destroy the fibres in the ropes...... possibly leading to them breaking when you go to use them after soaking them in mud.
Cole look into getting a few of the Solar Battery Tenders. They will save you a ton of time. We started using them on our farm 8-10 years ago and have yet to deal with a dead battery. They even work in the winter here in Alaska with only 3 hrs of sun a day at -50f.
So awesome to hear you got more rain!! Seems like all the other farmers I follow across the country are struggling with either too much or not enough. Good way to wake up on a Saturday morning

Great decision on buying the feed wagon for your operation. Amazing how dry you were and the rain you got that there's water sitting around. I see the temperatures in the next week are supposed to be triple digits, that water will definitely disappear fast. I sure wish we had that blue conveyor for loading trucks back in the day when I was on the farm because our auger hopper always had a big pile of corn around it that you had to scoop back into the hopper. Cole would it help if you had both trucks full and be sitting in line first thing in the morning before they open up. I bet you will have another big crop of Alfalfa with all the rain you have been getting. Stay cool and hydrate in the heat coming up next week.

Thanks for another great video. Most interesting and enjoyable for sure. Liked seeing Brian’s 4010 John Deere. That is a keeper. Those tractors are sought after by collectors. Glad you are keeping it. Get it going again and use for parades and such. Ellie could have used a wash job with the hose. When our dog was like that we just took the garden hose to her. You can get them fairly cheap now days. And they even have solar models now too. Might save you from always using the battery charger. Just something you might look into. Just saying. You got lots of rain. Never saw that much water around your farmstead. Wow. Cole pulling dad out of the mud-there is a new one. Good job Brian rocking the four wheeler back and forth and out of the mud. Makes for an interesting day. The rain is sure good for the crops but not the cow pens. Oh my. Good song of the day. The Eagles have good music. Thanks Brian. Corn hauling to town. The farmers having semi’s was just after our days. We had two sets of double gravity wagons that we used. We thought we were in the big time then. Pulled them with 1850 Oliver and no cab. How nice now days/wow. Time changes everything!!!! Good luck on getting the bins empty and hopefully the elevator will not be too busy. Remember those days. Oh boy. Love you using the wing vents on the truck cab. Do not see them too often now days. Even cars had those back in the day. Time flys. About it I guess. You both take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything Cole and Brian. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

@@bbfpfs it’s only a rake 60-80 hp is lots they don’t pull hard or need front wheel assist lol but the bigger frame and tires heck even the cab with a/c is nice though
Watch that corn put on a foot of growth overnight! How do you decide if corn is going for ethanol, stock feed or human consumption? And what’s the price differential over there? Do you plant different corn varieties depending on end use? And do you plant different varieties depending on long range weather forecasts eg early/late maturing and/or end purpose ethanol, stock feed (milled grain or silage) or human consumption? Sorry for all the questions I just want to know how much forward thinking goes into a farming operation. Lots of city folk don’t appreciate that there are so many variables and lots of decisions to make when it comes to farming. Cheers from a rain soaked Sydney, Ass-end of the World (Australia)
I was out to see the weather with you and yesterday the 15th today16 you also got rain and it looks like not so little rain but north dekota seem to have gotten so much so they need a boat
Interesting look at the inside of a grain bin. Do not have those here in Ireland. We can grow corn here, but we do not process them as you do there in the States.
